A fresh look at FPS

I love a good first person shooter (Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Battlefield, etc.) My experience with Brink so far has been great. The implementation of required objectives elevates the experience above just running around and shooting people. You have to be smart and play your role whether you are an engineer, medic, soldier or operative. The weapon customizations create a great opportunity to fine tune your character, and you have a ton of freedom to change your character's look.
One thing that makes the game different is that there are no kill counts or K/D ratios. It's not about being the best shot, it's about working as a squad and meeting objectives. You may take out 50 enemies, but the guy next to you who is meeting objectives and buffing the team can get a ton more experience than you.
Just like any new game, be sure to update your video card drivers or you may have problems with OpenGL.
What's great about it: New take on FPS, objective based gameplay
What's not so great: Spawn points can be really far from objectives.

Buggy, but fun.

New Vegas is Fallout 3 in the desert. I'm a little disappointed, it seems more like Obsidian just took what Bethesda gave them and made it way more complicated, with ammo types, etc.
I tried to take a walk north out of the starting town and got wasted by some giant wasps like ten times. The weapons system takes some getting used to, and guns that may have been useless in FO3 are awesome to have (10 mm Submachine Gun for example.) There are glitches with the different factions, and even if a faction tries to kill you, it still gives you bad karma to loot their hideouts... lame.
You can aim down the sights on your weapons now, which is fun, and VATS is pretty much the same. You can mod certain weapon types with scopes and other equipment.
There are some major glitches, though, so before you buy, go on the web and search the forums for people with a similar hardware setup as you to see if they are having any issues. There are some save-game issues as well, so be sure to hard save your game (don't just use quicksave.)
Overall, a fun game so far. The AI isn't very smart still, but people still explode just like you are used to.
What's great about it: Fallout universe, weapons and action.
What's not so great: Could have used another 3-4 months in development.
My wife started this series on Netflix, then just had to have it on DVD for the collection. Prison Break is a great show, full of characters to love and characters to hate. If you like a little bit of thrill and a fun plot, you'll love Prison Break.

What is there to say? It's a great mixer. The unit and mixing attachments that come with it are great, but a huge plus is that there are scads of other pieces (meat grinder, pasta maker, etc.) for the hardcore home chef. With Kitchenaid, just pick your color and you will be a happy camper.
What's great about it: It's KitchenAid quality, and it makes a statement in my kitchen

What more is there to say? It's the tried and true iPod Classic with even more memory. I have an older 80 gig that I still haven't managed to fill all the way up with video and music. I have no idea how I'll fill this one.
I love that I can use it as a portable hard drive, and even as a scratch disk as I edit large amounts of video on my Mac.
Pick it up, you won't be disappointed.
What's great about it: It's got more memory than a lot of laptops, can be used as a portable hard drive.
