I've had 2 other sets of stands in various rooms, and kept trying something new the next time -- till these -- these are very solid, no slippage with height, and have many options for attaching speakers -- have these in basement for Def Tech 800s, may get another pair for living room now that I know there is really a difference -- only negative is getting the speaker wire thru the pole, a one-time frustration, but now all's well
What's great about it: solid, height setting doesn't slip, many options for attaching speakers
2-piece screw-on design for reliable crimpless termination. Monster tip, spade and pin configuration. 24K gold contacts for maximum signal transfer and corrosion resistance. 2-pair pack.

If you ever need to connect/disconnect speakers at the back of a receiver, where you can't see well or reach easily, these are a god-send -- takes literally seconds to attach wire to these, and plug in -- the price difference is WELL worth it to me to avoid going crazy!
What's great about it: SIMPLE TO SET UP, EASY ACCESS
Equip your home theater system with rich, immersive bass using this powered subwoofer that features a 10" Klippel optimized Dynamic Balance composite woofer and compression circuitry for smooth, low-distortion bass tone.
Going on sale for $125 fit my situation perfectly -- new "man cave", simple 3.1 setup -- wanted quality sound for music/TV (better than the packaged systems) but not trying to replicate my high-end system upstairs -- paired with Def Tech 800s and denon 1610, and if sub set at ~100Hz and kept at reasonable level, sounds blend together well -- nice for the $$
What's great about it: Clean lows at reasonable levels, PRICE!!
Learn more about Magnolia Premium Installation Experience rich, deep audio in a small package with this bookshelf speaker that features a 4-1/2" midrange, 4-1/2" planar low-frequency woofer and 1" pure aluminum dome tweeter cone for immersive cinema sound.

for basement "man cave" 3.1 setup, more for music and TV than movies, wanted to upgrade from old Infinitys that I had sitting in a closet for years, but not break the bank -- looked at and auditioned MANY brands/models under $200 -- these seemed to be among the best bang for the buck in side-by-side comparisons, so I tried them -- when hooked up to Denon 1610, first thought they were a bit tinny for the large listening area, and wasn't so sure I made the right choice -- but after several hours of breaking in, they opened up quite nicely -- the highs are incredibly clear, and paired with a Polk 110 subwoofer (set at ~100Hz), sound is awesome for the minor investment -- for listening to music, compares well with my MUCH more expensive denon/polk/velodyne system upstairs -- I've become a big fan of Def Tech
What's great about it: Range and clarity, price
What's not so great: curved base for mounting on stands
Creating a man cave in basement -- wanted high enough to see while working out -- have 32" LG on it, and Denon receiver, cable box, center speaker on shelves-- shelves fit a bit loose, a couple of the supports wouldn't go in all the way -- a lot of open space in the rear, so wires show, but better than most stands -- otherwise it looks good and has a small footprint -- best option that I could find under $200 for a simple setup like mine
What's great about it: Solid construction, price, flexible shelves, easy assembly, height
What's not so great: Open space in the back, wires show thru
Only @ Best BuyThese banana plugs feature 24K gold-plated connectors that minimize corrosion and ensure maximum signal transfer. The Centerpin technology allows for easy installation with no wire stripping.

There must be a better way.

I read the other 12 reviews first and agree with many of the one star comments. I will give it 3 stars because it appears tight. But I do not believe this banana plug is the best way to connect your speakers. I did not strip the wire (12awg) but instead just pushed the wire on to the center of the pin. The collar fit tightly around the wire and appeared secure. The key word is "appeared" and I am not sure. I purchased another brand and found the set screw too small for the wire. If you can connect your equipment without using banana plugs then do so or find a review where the words "tight" and/or "secure" are used.

the center pin approach is awful -- get monster quick lock banana plugs -- I've tried half a dozen other options over time, and the quick locks are the only way to go -- self-crimping, very secure -- once I found them I've replaced every connection in all 3 systems in my house -- expensive, but worth it

Not a lot of weight -- I have Def Tech ProMonitor 1000s on them and that's about as far as you'd want to go without wobble -- would guess 10 lbs max, and only that if a flat-bottomed speaker with some width/depth, certainly not tall and thin

can you connect 2 subwoofer cables?
I need to run a subwoofer cable 25+ feet. I know 25 feet that you sell will be to short, can you connect 2 cables to make it work?
yes there are adaptors available with 2 female plugs -- check an audio shop -- note: while it will work OK, 25 feet may yield some dropoff of signal, so best to go with quality cables

is there really any difference between subwoofer cables
depends on the quality of the sub, but generally YES!! better the cable, tighter the sound -- some monster cable is overkill, but not for subs
