The cliff drops off and water splashes against the jagged rocks a thousand feet below you. A lonely tree attempting to grow a feet below the cliff's edge makes an excellent perch, and you squeeze your toes around its bark. The wind whips in your face and you decide it's time. Without a second thought you jump, diving at an incredible speed toward the rocks. Gracefully, magnificently, you spread your wings and catch the wind beneath them, causing you to sail out over the ocean. You are an Archaeopeteryx, a bold, flying dinosaur. You rule the sky. Learn and play as 21 exciting types of dinosaurs in Digging for Dinosaurs. In this game designed just for kids, you must search and discover dinosaurs. With each find, you'll unlock a new game that lets you play as one of these gigantic beasts. As you adventure through this world set millions of years in the past, you'll learn true tales about dinosaurs with facts that weed out the myths associated with these legendary creatures. Whether you're discovering what it's like to be an Eoraptor, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Archaeopeteryx, Triceratops or one of the many other dinosaurs, you're sure to have a roaring good time learning all sorts of fun facts.

We bought this for our five year old son who loves dinosaurs. He enjoys this game in short bursts but tends to lose interest after about thirty minutes... which is fine with me! I would recommend for any dinosaur fanatic but pass for those who do not show a love of dinosaurs.

Our kids love to play this game on DS download together in the car. They tend to fight over who gets to play it when not playing DS download. We bought this at Best Buy as a value priced item and the kids love it. Completely worth the price paid!
What's great about it: Sonic! Racing!

Fun gaming system for our kids

All 3 of our kids have a DSi XXL. The oldest (11 when she bought it) enjoys the games that came pre-installed as well as all the other features. Our then 6 year old loved being able to take Mario games everywhere. This unit was a birthday gift for our now 5 year old. Too young for many features, but loves the camera and having the ability to play games in the car like his older siblings. We disable to internet for all three kids, but there is plenty to keep them occupied. Great selection of games available. We may upgrade to the 3DS XXL in the next few months just to gain access to the newer Mario games, but we will disable the 3D effects and the internet. Overall this is a great unit, especially for younger kids whose eyes shouldn't be exposed to the 3D effects. Charges well and lasts for quite a few hours. Perfect for long road trips. (Though for those it is good to have the car charger.)
What's great about it: Easy to use, built in camera
What's not so great: Nothing so far

Does its job well

We purchased this along with a Garmin nuvi 2595LMT GPS to replace an older Garmin GPS and stand. The stand itself is great- the only thing I don't like is the sticky underside that sits on the dash. I understand it is to help adhere the unit to the dashboard, however when not in use, we like the ability to hide it under the console on the floor. With this unit, I can only imagine the carpet fibers would stick and we have had to find alternate places (on top of dvd cases, etc) to store this in the vehicle on road trips. Other than that minor problem, it's great. It holds the GPS securely and does not slide around on the dashboard.
What's great about it: Holds GPS securely
What's not so great: The bottom is very sticky

When we signed up for iTunes, there was no requirement to register a credit card for purchases. (I believe now when you register, you have to input a credit card but you do not have to use it for purchases.) We purchase the gift cards and input the codes into iTunes via our iPads, iPod Touch or our PC. They make controlling spending on music and apps quite easy. I can only imagine when using a credit card, purchases may add up more quickly than one may expect. This makes it easy to not only purchase items but stay within a budget as well.

We purchased this case to hold our Garmin nuvi 2595LMT GPS unit. The GPS fits snugly inside the case and zips closed. Unit seems to be well protected and is easy to transport in my purse or hide in the glove box. Highly recommend.

Great GPS but...

We upgraded to this GPS after our 5+ year old GPS broke. We had very high hopes for this unit. It does its job relatively well. There are a few problems I have found thus far.
The traffic feature was one we were probably most excited for. We drive in some high traffic areas frequently and hoped this would enable us to take different routes based on traffic back-ups. After using this unit for almost a month and two very long road trips through some major traffic, this feature was disappointing. It doesn't warn you in most instances before you hit the back-ups. On more than one occasion, it told us there would be a back-up in a mile or so, but we were already stopped due to traffic back-ups. It will find you alternate routes which do save time though.
The search feature is slightly annoying. You have to remember to specify where you wish to search before you can begin a search. You can search near where you are now, along your route or in a different city. If I search for gas stations or food on a long road trip, I wish it would automatically default to "along my route." Why would I want to go 20+ miles out of my way or 5 miles past where I am now to get gas or stop at a drive through?
The voice is also annoying. She sounds like a computer. There are only 2 pre-programmed English speaking voices. One sounds like a computer and uses street names telling you to turn. The other sounds more natural but tells you only "turn left" with no street name, which can be confusing when driving in the city and it wants you to turn left.... in a quarter mile and you have to pass 2 other streets first. You can purchase different voices on gift cards- celebrity impersonations and what have you but we have yet to have the time to really look into these. (How long are they good for? The life of the device? Only a few months? Do they sound robotic? Say street names?)
Now onto the very positive features. All in all I would recommend this device. It gives clear directions. When a highway splits, it gives a picture of the road signage on a split screen along with the traditional map arrows showing you which route to follow. The arrival time has been accurate as have the directions.
The features I have yet to try are the bluetooth capability and the Audible ability. (The option to have the GPS "read" a book to you while you drive.) I'm quite eager to try this, but both of our road trips have included our 3 children and it has not been practical to try.
The problems we experienced have been minor compared to how well the GPS does its job. I realize this sounds like a negative review- it is not meant to... I just wanted to put the pros and cons out there so you could make an informed decision. Given the choice, we WOULD purchase this unit again.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Traffic feature does not warn you ahead of time
I would recommend this to a friend!
