I'll start with the (maybe) bad- This isn't a smart TV. If you're going to be using it for more than tv watching, it may not be for you.
If, however, you're going to sit in your living room and stare at this for entertainment- this is an amazing value. I upgraded from a 50" plasma (720 HD), and am just blown away. First- in the store I never really noticed huge differences between 720 HD and 1080p. In my living room, however....whoa. I don't even know what else to say about that. If you're looking to spend thousands of dollars, 4K is probably somewhat better, but....I wasn't. I wanted to spend hundreds of dollars. This absolutely surpassed my expectations.
I can't speak to the sound very much- I assume it's good, but I have a soundbar.
Setup took minutes, and was super easy. I moved the old tv, set this one in its place, and plugged the wires in.
One of the coolest little bells and whistles is the ability to rename the inputs. So- instead of HDMI1, Component, etc; you can relabel them 'TV', 'DVD player', 'Chromecast', etc; so you don't need to remember what is in each input. It's a small deal, but really shows how user-friendly this really is.
Excellent buy- I highly recommend it. Well worth the money, and probably worth quite a bit more.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Puts the theater in my living room

So- this isn't a $1K system. Don't pretend it is, and if you wanted to spend thousands of dollars on building out a professional quality home theater, you shouldn't be looking for a soundbar anyway. That said- this thing is a fantastic value. I picked it up under $100; had it up and going in minutes. It was extremely easy setup- I just plugged it into the back of the tv. The sub is across the room, they synced with basically no effort.
I can't say enough about the sound quality. Once I got it configured right, it sounds amazing. Deep, rich bass; clear crisp voices. I do wish that it had more surround-like feel to the sound, but sitting on my couch I can clearly tell whether the offscreen noise should be to my left or my right. I did find it easy to turn the sub up too much (so that I feel the bass as much as hear it), but once I quit doing that, I have been amazed at how natural it sounds.
If you're buying a new tv; or don't currently have a soundbar; or are just looking for a quality product at a great price- this is a worthwhile purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will this work with a 55" TV?

Absolutely. I bought a 55" Insignia tv the same day- they work great together.
