The Frigidaire App is the worst app ever and only works if Jupiter and Saturn are properly aligned and it's a sunny day with less than 30% Humidity, and if your device has over 97% battery life remaining.
Basically, don't buy this AC for it's Wifi capability, the app never works, always says can't connect to service, looks like it was designed 10 years ago.
As for the AC itself it's pretty good, we're happy with it. The only complaint is that EVERY time you turn it on, it's in econ mode, when realistically,... I WANT COOL! so it's power button, then mode button. Consider it a two button power-on.

When the a/c has brought the room to the set temp, does the fan remain running or does it shut off and test temp periodically?
The fan does remain on, at least in COOL Mode. ECON mode is on be default every time you turn it on and it's wicked annoying listening to the whole unit turn off and on every few seconds, but in COOL mode the FAN is on the whole time. There is a thumping noise when the compressor kicks back on that can be noticeable, but doesn't wake me up.

Does the installation kit include brackets to hang it in the window?
No it does not. Just the wings, I didn't need any additional supports for my window.

Sounds great, but room is 600 SQ Feet. Would the 8,000 cool enough? Or, does this come in a 12000 BTU with same features, including wifi? Thanks.
Don't buy it for the wifi feature, the services are always down.

Is there an option of purchasing a remote control, if I do not want to use the phone app?
It comes with a remote as well.... don't bother using the phone app, it sucks so bad.

Is this unit able to get a room to 60 degrees or below? I have a main central unit ,however, I like my bedroom to be at least 60.
The lowest setting on the AC is 60
