Based on many other reviews online and actually looking into the manual for this Tv, it is not 120hz as advertised by Best Buy, it's just 60hz. The 51 series was made to be a doorbuster for Best Buy and Walmart. It is still a better than average tv, just not as good as advertised.

Whether this is true 120 Hz or 60 Hz doesn't make a difference to me -- especially since it was $500 for a 55" 1080p TV!!!. All that really matters is the perceived picture quality of the individual viewer and the ratio of that to the price you pay. Did I mention it was only $500 for a 55" 1080p TV?!?!? For me, I had owned a Samsung 40" 1080p panel that I paid more than nearly $1,500 for nearly 6 years ago. So getting a 55" 1080p TV for $500 is outstanding. To me, the picture is crisp, clean, offers good contrast, good blacks and whites and motion looks very good for sports. You can tweak a lot in the settings or go with several presets. The thin bevel is a great look and the onboard audio is more than acceptable. I don't care about the lack of SMART features because I have that on my Blu-Ray player. By the way, I bought this Thanksgiving night AFTER I had bought a 60" Sharp a few hours earlier for $850. I took the Sharp back (yea, it was a pain to box it back up and drag it back to Best Buy on Turkey night) because 60" was simply too big (yes, unless you live at Derek Jeter's house, it's possible to have too big/Omni-present of a TV for a particular room) and the audio on the Sharp 60" was poor. So, for $500, forget the 60 Hz vs. 120 Hz debate. Dude, it's $500, 55", the perfect size for most living rooms and the picture looks great, at least to me.
