Fun, but slow going.

I remember the PS2 entries of this game being much more entertaining. That said, this is still a very enjoyable game. it has the acrobatics that made them fun, and adds elemental controls to mix things up, but it still felt slow and the stop/go of battles got repetative. Worth $30 or less, but not full price.

SynopsisFor Irish racing mechanic Sean Devlin, life has changed forever. With nothing to lose and motivated by revenge, he heads for Paris to hunt down the Nazi officer who took everything from him. To everyone else, Devlin's just a tourist taking in Notre Dame Cathedral or the Champs d'Elysees. But behind the scenes, this street-tough foreigner has other plans. He prowls through dark alleys undetected. He uses information from British intelligence and the French Resistance to level entire enemy facilities. Most of he all, he does his best to remain incognito, for the Irishman formerly known as Sean Devlin has become The Saboteur.Play as Sean Devlin in the richly detailed environments of stylized 1940s Paris. Part of your success will depend on weaponry and explosives as you blow up zeppelins, derail trains and implode bridges. However, the finer points of sabotage require you to strategize using stealth attacks, disguises and distractions. Paris becomes part of your struggle with the employment of Will to Fight technology, which causes the city to react around you as you remove the shackles of Nazi occupation. With the city's fate now tied to your own, call in support from the French Resistance to receive getaway cars, weapon deliveries and more to help you complete missions.

Not worth $40, but...

it IS worth the $20 you can get it at most places. The controls take some getting used to, and the game doesn't pick up till about the second hour in, AND the guy climbs buildings like your average person (don't be expecting smooth, fluid, quick climbs) but if you can look past these drawbacks, it's a fairly enjoyable game. I recommend it ONLY as a value price game.

If you haven't gotten fallout 3, this is the version you want. It has the full game, plus all downloadable content in one cheap easy package. it's a violent, but amazing game and well worth every cent you pay for it.
What's great about it: What's not great about it?
What's not so great: Game freezes up occationally.

With all the comparisons to Fallout 3, I expected a lot. It didn't come close. Even after adjusting my ideas of what to expect, it still wasn't all that great.
First the good. As advertised, there really is bazillions of guns. The vehicles are nice and there is a little combat with them, but they're really just meant to get from A to B faster. It is a good length game and the multiplayer is where the game shines. And the little robots are really enjoyable to listen to and watch, as are the hockey mask attackers. And the RPG-like customization works well for this FPS.
Now the bad. I hope you like the desolate wasteland, because that's what you're going to see. The entire. Freaking. Game. There is a moment toward the end it changes, but seeing the same landscape, regardless what area you're in, gets mindnumbing. The story is as shallow as a kiddie pool. When there is a lot of action going on, the screen gets glitchy. The bosses will kill you quick, regardless of your arsenal unless you know the tactic to beat them. And when I say "them" I mean that the same tactic is used for pretty much all of them.
All in all, it's not a bad game, and if you can get it for cheap or wait until the price drops, it'll be worth it. But unless youre a huge fan of online multiplayer, spend the $60 on something else.

The zombies are long gone, but the Lickers are back! This game is a great new installment for the RE franchise. The co-op feature is nice, but the ally AI is good enough (although it is rather wasteful of ammo). And Wesker is brought back more powerful than ever.

A mix of Metal Gear & Zelda

Easily the best Batman game ever made, but this is just a great game in general. Even if you don't care about comics, you should give this game a try. A mix of the stealth from Metal Gear Solid with the tool usage to get to new areas like Legend of Zelda and a combat system all it's own. The combat system is simple but looks impressive which is great so you can admire the damage you're doing.

The Pitt is worth the money, but Operataion Anchorage is almost a waste of time. If you can download the expanions, save your money and just get the Pitt. If you can't, this makes a decent value.

Once upon a time, the gaming world was turned on its head by a little gray cartridge for the Nintendo Entertainment System: Super Mario Bros. Now, more than twenty years later, witness the evolution of the platformer that started it all with New Super Mario Bros., the latest installment of the beloved franchise on the Nintendo DS. It may be in incredible 3D, but you'll hearken back to those glorious 2D days of stomping Goombas, kicking turtle shells and chasing mushrooms.Join Mario and Luigi as they jump and climb their way over fields, under water, through castles and into the air. Collect all-new powerups, including the Blue Shell that Mario can ride in and the massive Mushroom that makes him super-huge. Team up with a friend and play as both Mario and Luigi in multiplayer mode. You and Mario will both take a nice little trip back to your roots with New Super Mario Bros.

not only will you have to buy a converter so the electricity isn't a problem, but you'll have to buy an AC adapter so you can even plug it into the wall.

total new to the modern era gaming

I am from the old time 80s with the single arcade games. I want to get a system for my kids. From what I read, seems like the PS3 with the BlueRay is a no brainer. What am I missing? And what else do I need to get so they can play right away.
Thanks
The system you want depends on your kids ages and interests. The Wii tends to aim to the younger crowd, and the 360 gears more towards the sports fans and online players. For my money though, I love the PS3.
The system comes with only one controller, so you might want to get more depending on how many kids you have. Also, games are important and I would recommend Ratchet and Clank for platformer/action, Orange Box or Bio Shock (depending on age) for a first person shooter, LittleBigPlanet if they're creative, or Lego Star Wars: The complete saga if they're fans of legos, star wars or just a fun simple game.

My boyfriend hinted several months ago that he would like a hard drive for his PS3. But Im not a gamer or electronic freak like him (haha) so I have no idea what Im looking for. Any suggestions?
If I remember right, you can use pretty much any external hard drive with a USB port. Ask a Best Buy employee or game store employee to be sure though.

best multi co-op games for ps3?

My husband and I enjoy gaming together, but haven't found many good games since Project Eden. Are there co-op games for the PS3 to play at home, not online?
A lot, just depends on what you're interested in. Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Guitar Hero/Rock Band, any of the Lego games, Simpsons, Rayman: Raving Rabbids... there's tons. Just depends what you like.
