Yea ok

Based on previous Battlefield games (Star Wars not included) I would say this will be no less fun than the others. It is a bold move for them to take the direction towards World War One. This review is mainly to counter all the CoD fanboys who are upset they don't have the skill to play a more technical game and gave this a one star before it even came out.

Good features

I'm very pleased with the performance of this unit so far. The oscillating feature really helps to fan the heat out. The LED and digital display on top are informative and you can't beat having a heater with a remote. My only complaint would be that the filter is just a mesh screen and the holes are somewhat large. It will stop hair but I'm not so sure about dust and the fans run loud but not obnoxiously loud. They appear to be similar to PC case cooling fans. In the time it has taken me to write this I can already feel how much warmer my bedroom has become.

As a pilot, battling for control of the Frontier in Titanfall, you rely on your most important sense — hearing. It's important for you to be able to anticipate danger before it's too late. When you can't see your enemy face-to-face, you have to hone in on the surrounding sounds — the reverberations of an enemy's footfall, the voices of your teammates and other acoustic clues, which could be the only things that keep you alive. When you're immersed in gameplay, sound is important, and this Ear Force Atlas Official Gaming Headset brings the soundscape of Titanfall to life in stunning, dynamic detail.Designed for Xbox One and compatible with Xbox 360 and Windows, this headset works with every version of Titanfall, so you can envelop yourself in the electrifying audio of your favorite game thanks to the full-range 50mm speakers. Add depth and punch to your game's audio with built-in Bass Boost. Adjust the game and chat volumes until you achieve a mix that suits your preferences, and easily mute the microphone when you don't want to be heard. Stay in clear vocal contact with your fellow pilots with the high-quality removable microphone and use the microphone monitor feature, which lets you hear your own voice in the headset to help you avoid shouting. Game in total comfort thanks to the twist-cup design that consists of rotatable earcups with breathable mesh cushions, so you can wear the headset around your neck. Take the headset with you for mobile gaming on a compatible cell phone, tablet or other portable device. With this Titanfall Ear Force Atlas Official Gaming Headset, you'll be ready for any action headed your way.

Versatile with good sound

If you still game on both systems and/or the pc than this is the right choice over the XO Four. I was concerned that there are no sound adjustments like the X500 series but the bass is deep and audio overall is good. I had to replace my XP500 because of the audio drops and constant static and popping. Whatever interference issues the other set had has been fixed with the new design. There is no longer a transmitter box to plug into. You simply plug your headset into the provided adapter which plugs into your controller. The only downside to the headset is the large amount of wires necessary when hooking up to a 360. You also need the 360 adapter that has the rca inputs. I think the 360 comes with it. The audio output wires are much longer than the USB connection which is baffling considering they are hooking into the same device. I hooked up the headset to my cell phone with the cable and was able to talk while the phone was in my pocket. It makes for a nice hands free device if you get a call but need to do something while talking. Overall it is a good, versatile headset with clear audio and good bass. If you do not plan on using them for the 360 or pc also then save the 50 bucks and buy the XO Four.

Not for laps

The fan on this will make a very noticeable improvement on laptop cooling. Unfortunately the bottom of the pad has flimsy plastic spars that can bend under the weight of a 17 inch gaming laptop if it is on your lap. This can cause the fan to rub against them making a horrible noise. Mine bent so badly that at one point the fan blade got caught on the one of the spars. I had to break off the opposite fan blades to keep the fan counter-weighted properly. If you plan on using this for tabletop only then it is a great deal for less than 20 dollars but if your laptop is heavy and you plan on putting it on your lap you would definitely want something sturdier.

What's great about it: Cools laptops extremely well
What's not so great: Flimsy fan shroud on bottom.

System Link
on March 13, 2010

I work overseas and we have been playing CoD:MW2 for months on system link. We create matches, people join. 2 people to 18 per match. No problems. We were looking forward to playing BFBC2 but you need a minimum of 8 people to play and even then you have to play over EA servers. Not an option for us here in Iraq. Back to Modern Warfare 2 for us ! Would it really have cost that much more to produce system link into the code?
What's great about it: Graphics and sound
What's not so great: No system link
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
