Good basic electric toothbrush

We got this for my nine-year-old son, whose adult teeth are starting to come in. He's good with brushing so we wanted to get him something to start cleaning his permanent teeth even better and establish healthy habits.
This brush fits the bill very well. It's basic but well built and works as well as all of the other Philips brushes we own.
It has one speed and just comes with a charger. No travel case, no extra heads (other than the one it comes with) and no other notable extras. Nonetheless, it is the same quality as all Philips rechargeables.

Good Basic Bluetooth Headphones

These are lightweight, fold flat and are good for travel. They seem to be built such that they will withstand a beating in a backpack.
If you have an Android device, pairing via NFC is as simple as swiping your phone against the one ear cup with the NFC symbol!
Sound quality is mediocre at best. Bass is strong and boomy, extending into the vocal range. High end is rolled off somewhat, typical of Bluetooth headphones. EDM sounds good, as does some hard rock and metal. I wouldn't recommend these for music with a lot of vocals.
Initial sound was bad, but with some burn-in they loosened up a little. Perhaps over time the boominess will improve, but that's doubtful.
The onboard mic is good for phone calls. Pressing the power switch once answers calls. Pushing it twice brings up you phone's voice assistant.
Comfort is average. They have a lot of clamping force, but not too much. They will stay on during a commute on the bus for sure. They are over-the-ear design, so if you wear glasses they may be a bit more uncomfortable.

A Great Value for Pros and Advanced Hobbyists

Anyone serious about photography, either as a hobby or a business, needs to have Photoshop for alterations and Lightroom for organizing photos. In the past, the greatest barrier to owning one or both was the cost and the constant upgrade cycles. Creative Cloud helps on both fronts.
Rather than buying the software outright, Adobe has gone to a "software as a service" model where you pay a monthly or annual fee to use the software. You never actually own it, but you do always have the most recent version, eliminating the need to upgrade every year.
If you're interested in PS, you already know it's the industry standard for photo retouching and manipulating. The CC version is the full, professional strength version. Along with it you will receive Lightroom, the preeminent photo storage package. Together there's not much you can't do with your favorite photos.
Setup is simple. You go online to start an Adobe account (or log into an existing one) and then enter your code. You then have the ability to download PS and LR and install them. Simple!
My only complaint is that the included cloud storage for photos is way too small. You, of course, have the option to upgrade for a further fee.

Good Chromebook, Lackluster Screen

This is a good Chromebook that's mere inches from being a great Chromebook.
First off, the build quality is great for the price. The chassis is mostly plastic, but it's sturdy and doesn't seem to have any creaks or ill-fitting seams. On top is a dark aluminum lid that feels good and gives the entire Chromebook a more premium look.
Included are two USB 3.0 jacks, a headphone/mic jack and a full-size SD card slot. The included charger is the older coaxial type and not USB C.
The keyboard is sturdy and very nice for a low-price laptop. The top mounted speakers get loud, if a little shrill, but are better than most laptops. Perfect for watching moves on the big screen.
The only place this Chromebook falls short is the screen. 1366x768 is just too low resolution for a screen that size. Viewing angles are bad, too. Anything off-axis causes the screen to look like a photo negative. At this point full HD screens should be standard everywhere as more expensive laptops start to sport 4K screens.
The Intel processor and 4GB of memory seem to be adequate for most tasks. This machine also supports the Google Play store for downloading and running Android apps. You may need to update the operating system in order to activate it.
Overall, this would be a good choice for students, but the poor screen holds it back from being a daily driver for most adults.

Video editing doesn't have to be daunting or take tons of time. Go from hundreds of mystery folders to a visual view of your videos automatically sorted by date. Use automated editing options and step-by-step guidance to create and share everything from animated GIFs and video collages to new dynamic slideshows and full-length movies.

Disappointing for 4K editing

I've been a fan of Adobe's editing software for years and this iteration of Premiere elements is my first disappointment in a while.
I recently upgraded to a 4K camera (The amazing Panasonic G7 Mirrorless Camera!) and needed something to edit the UHD footage. Unfortunately, playback within Premiere is choppy at best on the auto playback settings and very choppy at higher settings. It should be noted I'm using a high-end gaming laptop with a GTX1060 video card and the software struggles to play back the video. Playing back the files in VLC, however, is extremely smooth.
As far as the interface, it's the usual fare with a novice setting that looks like iMovie and an expert mode that allows for multiple audio and video timelines.
My biggest frustration is the lack of ability to shuttle video using the JKL keys. If you've ever used higher end editing software, J plays backward, K pauses and L plays forward to make finding edit points easily. It's usually a standard feature in editing software, but not here.
Some positives include the ability to do simple color correction and automatic stabilization of GoPro video.
I would recommend Premiere elements 2018 if you're working with HD video or action cam footage and need stable, easy to use software. If you're looking for something to edit 4K footage or a more polished experience, it might be worth looking into other software.

Great Sound, Has Potential as a Personal Assistant

Of all of the current voice assistant speaker devices out there, the Invoke has the best build quality and sound. It's very classy looking and is very heavy, ensuring it won't be knocked over easily on a desk. The lights on top are subtle. The overall unit looks and feels great and fits in with all of the tech toys on my desk.
Sound quality as a bluetooth speaker is top-notch. I have a few BT speakers and the Invoke is now my go-to. It's rich, room filling and well balanced. The top acts as a volume ring which makes quick changes easy.
As a voice assistant, its uses seem limited. Unless you're fully invested in the Outlook/Cortana ecosystem, the Invoke will be of little use to you. I use GMail for personal use and Outlook365 for work (I couldn't get my work account to work with the speaker, which would have been nice for my calendar) so there is little integration with my personal data. It also works with Groove music and Spotify, where I generally use Amazon Music, so not much help there, either. Again, as a BT speaker though, the sound is outstanding.
It does integrate with my Samsung SmartThings home automation, so that's a plus. It may inspire me to play around with Cortana more, but I do wish I could, at the least, use it for Amazon music.

Light-weight, easy install

So far I have no issues with Bitdefender, which is saying a lot. I hardly ever run AV software because of the overall performance hit I usually experience, especially when running intensive software like games or editing software. So far, so good!
The installation and setup process was pain free compared to most other AV packages. The presence of nagging pop-up boxes has been kept to a minimum. If you've ever used somethign like Norton in the past, you know how painful the constant nagging is.
I used my laptop last night for a couple of hours and forgot Bitdefender was there, which speaks volumes to how lightweight and unobtrusive it is.

Good Alternative to More Expensive Thermostats

If you're looking for a basic thermostat that comes with WiFi and Smartthings integration this is for you.
Installation is simple. If you've never installed a thermostat before, just turn off power to the AC/Heater at the fuse box, pull the old one down and transfer the wires from the old to the new , taking care to put them in the same places. Marking them helps a lot!
Be advised, you need a C (for "Common") wire to use this. I would advise checking behind your existing thermostat to be sure there is a wire connected to the C terminal on the back. It is needed to power the thermostat and it's wifi connection.
The display is nice and big compared to some of the competition. I like that you can set it to different colors to match your decor.

Great Portability but Heavy

A few months ago we adopted a cat. This being my first feline, I was not at all prepared for the amount of shedding.
Enter the pet stick vacuum. It was easy to set up and it does a great job with picking up pet hair. I especially appreciate how easy it is to vacuum the stairs she lays on and around the litter box to pick up the litter she tracks around.
It has a small footprint and is easy to store.
My only complaint is the weight. Yes, it comes with an amazing battery, but that comes with a price. If you're in god health it shouldn't be an issue, but for someone like my Mother in Law who has a weight restriction when lifting things, you might want to consider a lighter model.

Works with first gen base, has better options

I was happy to see that the new cameras work well with my first generation Arlo base station and play nice with my other cameras.
Image quality on these are much better than the original. The big bonus is that these can either be battery powered like the original Arlo cameras, or can be plugged in. This is great for indoor use!
If you've not tried Arlo cameras in the past, they're incredible security cameras that can be mounted anywhere (rain or snow won't harm these little guys!) and run from batteries. You can set up views of every angle of your property without running wires. Monitoring is simple using the mobile app, and the monitoring is free with basic options. Unless you need to record a lot you can do just fine with the free account.

Will this work with an iPhone 12Max with a Mous Limitless 3.0 case. Anyone foolish enough to use any gimble w/o some sort of protection is just asking for trouble IMO. I really want to pick one up but not if it won’t work with a case.
I don't know about that specific case, but the magnetic clip seems to work with every case I've thrown at it on my S21 Ultra.
That said, the clip and magnet are really strong and I would feel comfortable trusting them under most conditions
