I bought these and returned them. Why: They were weird to me. The necklace-band thing moves, which pulls at the headphone cords. I didn't much care for the on-off switch either (hiddent in the necklace-band). Don't get me wrong - these sounded great. If you can get over the weird necklace-band thingy then these would probably be better than fine for you.

Anyway, here's my review:
I have the Powerbeats 2 and these X's sound so much better to me.
That's the key: To Me.
I listen to a plethora of music from electronic to rap to rock to alternative to classical to even talk radio (you get the point). Bass punch and treble are balanced nicely. They may even sound slightly better that my Bose Soundsport headphones (my gym pair).
The seal I get when I put these in my ears blocks out nearly all ambient noise and I typically can't hear people talking-a feature my family thinks is particularly annoying (a plus? :>)). They fit nice and comfortably in my ear canal and are incredibly comfortable - I forget I'm wearing them after a while. My only negative comment is I won't be able to take these to the gym, since they're not sweat resistant. I can't downgrade my star rating of these for that though - they don't claim to be sweat proof.

The box doesn't state they are sweat proof. The Verge says they're not: http://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/2/7/14532524/apple-beats-x-earbuds-release-date-pricing and according to a comment, CNET says they are. Weird and inconsistent.

Are these headphones compatible with Windows as well as Android and IOS?
It doesn't matter what operating system you're on. It only matters if you have a device that is Bluetooth compatible (and unless you have a medieval device of some sort, you have Bluetooth).
