Awesome sound, funny wiring....

I almost returned this until I wired it "my way". The manual says for best sound, to wire the speakers to the sub woofer then to the amplifier/receiver (similar to a Bose setup). I did it their way and had VERY disappointing bass. I personally like my house to shake when there is an explosion in a movie but with the suggested setup I'd be lucky to even feel the bass from across the room. So I wired it the standard way (directly to the receiver) and wha'la, awesome sound. I don't know if it was because my receiver auto calibrates for the best sound or what, but standard wiring worked best for my setup. So onto the sound, AWESOME. Very clean highs and good bass. The speakers are perfectly matched for sound, so you dont have to keep lower or raising the volume when watching a loud or quiet part of a movie. I've owned Bose and Klipsch before and for the money, this is the best. Yes you could drop $2k on a Klipsch or Bose system but for $799 you can't beat this system. Only thing I was a little disappointed about was that there are no speaker wires included, not even a sub woofer cable. So don't forget to buy those. Oh, only reason I didnt give it "excellent" for power is that I wish it came with a bigger sub woofer but thats just me.
What's great about it: Superior sound for only $800.
What's not so great: No speaker wires or sub woofer cable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Had it for 3 weeks ;-(

Well, had this camera for 3 weeks until someone stole it in vegas.
It takes great video and the light is defanitly a plus. Low light setting are a bit grainy, but it really didnt bother me, I wasnt going to spend $1000 to get hi def videos at night. Only thing I didnt like was the still pictures, I figured since I was buying a "Canon" I'd get quality stills but, it is camcorder, and stills are pretty much useless. The ONLY way I was able to get a decent still picture was if the camera was completely still (like on a tripod) and the person being photoed didnt move....at all (like a statue) I think I'm going to try my luck with the sanyo xacti next, Im not saying this camera is bad, I just want better stills
What's great about it: Videos, editing options, size, light on front
What's not so great: still pictures, and someone stole mine :-(
I would recommend this to a friend!

Try standard wiring
June 22, 2011
I had the same issue when I wired it the way Definitive suggests. I had pretty much horrible/distorted/underpowered bass until I did standard wiring (directly to the reciever)
My reciever automatically calibrates for the best sound with an external mic and Im guessing that wiring it the way the manual suggests messes with my type (and your type) of reciever. Once I did the standard wiring I had excellent bass. Hope this helps, I almost returned mine until I wired it differently.

How do I compresss and upload video to send via email??

Just bought the JVC Everio camcorder. Have taped a 5 min track and field race and would like to share it with family. The file is HUGE-233MB. What do I have to do to get it to a smaller size so it can be emailed?
I think your best bet is to upload it onto youtube.com, because if, and a big if, you're able to make it into a smaller file the picture will be very poor and small. If you do the youtube.com route you can email the hosting address to anyone you want and they can watch the video in good quality
