Excellent sortment of zip ties
on November 2, 2016

Ill admit it, seeing a mess of wires drives me nuts. I had a job in the past where I had to learn how to secure and neatly bundle wiring. Since then Ive always tried to make sure my wiring and cabling has been neat. This set of different size zip ties makes this very easy and clean. Also included is several mounts that have stick tape on the back. You can use these to route your wires, as well as keep them from moving. This can help avoid possibly damaging ports such as HDMI ports where you have several possibly heavy cables hanging from them. If you want to keep your wiring and cables neat, clean, and secure this is a great way to do it.

A Powerful router for all your internet needs
on October 29, 2016
Posted by: Nate34
from North Bay Area, Ca.
Setup on the router was a breeze. Plug it in, install the 4 antennas, connect your Ethernet cables, then power it on. No need for installing a disc or program, I didn't even have to go to the web based set up page. It went there on its own when I opened a browser. It then went right into the Linksys Smart set up, and let me know there was an available important update with the option of having future updates installed automatically which was (recommended). I immediately noticed my PC had a working wired connection already. After the update was complete it went into the Wi-fi settings where you can name your network and choose a password. After updating the wireless settings you then choose a log in password to access the routers settings. The whole set up was very simple, couldn't have been easier.
The layout for the web based routers user interface is very clean and easy to understand and navigate. There are simple toggles for your basic settings as well as more advanced settings like DMZ, port forwarding, etc. for the advanced user that needs to get in there and tweak the settings to your hearts consent.
After I was all set up and had a Wi-fi connection I did some speed and connection comparisons with my previous router which is a Netgear WNDR4300. Here are the results I got:
Netgear WNDR4300 Tests:
Laptop wired: 180.29 Down | 12.15 Up
Laptop wireless: 2.4ghz = 96.22 Down | 12.14 Up
5ghz = 162.98 Down | 12.07 Up upload failed several times after losing connection.
Note: Several times my 5ghz connection would drop completely on my laptop and not even show up on the available networks while using the Netgear WNDR4300.
Galaxy S7 right next to router:
2.4ghz = 87.65 Down | 12.22 Up
5ghz = 17.76 Down | 12.32 Up (connection erratic, inconsistent speeds. It would start off fast, then at about 54mbps, then drop to 15-20)
Galaxy S7 One room away:
2.4ghz = 64.22 Down | 12.09 Up
5ghz = 2.27 Down | 12.37 Up
Linksys WRT AC3200 Tests:
Laptop wired: 180.38 Down | 12.11 Up
Laptop wireless: 2.4ghz = 84.60 Down | 12.13 Up
5ghz = 181.44 Down | 12.13 Up
Galaxy S7 right next to router:
2.4ghz = 40.59 Down | 12.87 Up
5ghz = 108.92 Down | 12.97 Up (connection strong, consistent speeds.)
Galaxy S7 One room away:
2.4ghz = 64.22 Down | 12.09 Up
5ghz = 16.13 Down | 12.65 Up
The 5ghz connection was probably the biggest improvement overall. The connection was much more reliable and did not drop out like it did several times on the Netgear while connected to my laptop and my Galaxy S7. The Linksys router handled every test and task I gave it and passed with flying colors. If you are in need of a great router that will blanket your house or office with a solid reliable connection this is a great choice. With its simple (or advanced if needed) user interface, reliable connection, and blazing fast speeds you cant go wrong here. Great Powerful Router for your home or office.

An amazing device, Great Job Google
on October 21, 2016
Posted by: Nate34
from North Bay Area, Ca.
To start I'll list everything it comes with in the box. The Google Pixel phone itself of course, 2 USB C cables, a USB C adapter, the Wall charger, sim card tool, and the user guide with other papers. The charge cable itself is a little short, but it works ok.
Set up was fast and easy. You have the option to transfer your data from an iphone, or other android device, but I decided to start fresh. You then add your google account, and set up the voice assistant. Thats all.
I tested out the messaging and was genuinely surprised out how fast it sent and received messages. Quite a bit faster than my other phone which is an S7. Call quality was very clear both regular and on speaker phone. I had no issues sending or receiving calls.
I tested out my LTE speeds up against my Galaxy S7, but of course this will depend on your carrier but here is what I got.
Pixel LTE Speed average of 3 tests: 13.98 Down - 3.22 Up
Galaxy S7 LTE Speed average of 3 tests: 6.57 Down - 3.42 Up
Google has done a lot of advertising about how good the camera is and I have to say thats been true for me. I took some pictures using my Galaxy S7 and the Pixel and did some comparisons. The thing that stood out the most for me was that the pictures the Pixel took had a lot more detail in areas with low light. And the pictures really look good. If a great camera is on the top of your list for what you look for in a new phone this is a great choice.
One thing I thought I would notice when comparing the Pixel up against my Galaxy S7 was the quad HD screen on the S7 vs the 1080p screen on the Pixel. And I cant tell any difference at all. The text, icons, and screen all look great.
One thing I thought my be an issue was that this version of the Pixel has only 32gb of storage, with no SD card slot. But after setting it up and installing a couple apps I had 7.31gb used of the total available 29.70gb, leaving me with 22.39gb left for the rest of my apps, games, future pics and videos, etc. But this is not that big of a deal because the Pixel comes with unlimited picture and video cloud storage. And a system that automatically backs them up so you dont have to worry about running out of space.
Although I dont use fingerprint security since Im the only one that ever touches my phone I tested it out and its awesome. It is extremely fast and never errors out asking for your chosen back up security type. You can set it up to fully unlock to your home screen just by holding your finger on the sensor.
Ive used Samsung devices for the last few years so Ive never really been able to use pure Android. And I really like it. Its simple with no overlay that can complicate things. And since its a Google phone you'll get the latest security and firmware updates when they come out rather than having to wait for your carrier to approve the update. The new 7.1 is very fast. I havent experienced any delays, errors, or anything of the sort. Everything just works and works fast.
Ive never been much into the whole voice assistant thing, but this phone has made me think twice about that. The new Google Voice assistant is MUCH smarter than before. It works for so many different things, and you can continue in whatever topic you are searching for. It will remember what you are asking rather than having to start over. I think this new voice assistant has won me over. Ill be using it for sure.
So overall Google has really knocked it out of the park with this phone. I am very happy with it and the new Android 7.1 features have won me over. If you are looking for the best of Android the Google Pixel is it. Thank you for reading.

Great connection, speeds, coverage, and looks
on September 20, 2016

Starting off the packaging is done very well. All the items are well protected without going overboard. Everything is separated and protected to prevent any scuffs, etc.

The set up was easy, but took awhile though. A piece of advice. Follow the instructions well. Dont go ahead and connect all your devices before going through the set up. When I tried that I couldnt complete the set up. Heres what I did that worked.
1) Plug in the Router Orbi, Turn on, then connect the Ethernet form your modem in. Wait for the Light ring to turn white.
2) Find the location you want to put the Orbi Satellite, then plug it and power on.
3) The Satellites light ring will also turn white, then Magenta while the the 2 should automatically try to sync with each other. If they do the ring on the Satellite with turn solid blue then off.
4) If it turns Amber they are too far apart, so move them closer
5) If the Satellite does not turn solid blue then you will need to manually sync them by pressing the sync buttons on both.
6) It took awhile, but eventually the light turned solid blue then off. They are now connected so you can move on.
7) Now you are ready to log on to the Orbi's set up page and go through the web based set up.
Once I had it all set up I was very surprised at the speeds I was getting from my Wired and Wireless connections. My internet max speeds are set at 150 MBPS, but I was actually able to get 180 MBPS downloads when wired, and the same speeds with my Galaxy S7 connected wirelessly. This was literally over 100 MBPS faster than my other router. And even more important was the connection strength. In my room about 30 feet away from the router I use to drop to 1 -2 bars on my Galaxy S7, but with the Orbi I had a full 4 bars and amazing speeds.
And we have a lot of devices that rely on that wireless connection and now have no dead spots, and all the speeds for all devices are great. No more Netflix buffering, or low resolution when streaming. Another thing I didnt know at first was that this only has one SSID to choose from. No more switching from 2.4ghz to 5ghz depending on where you are in the house. It automatically chooses the best and strongest connection each time.
So in summary this is a must for anyone that wants great speeds, simple set up, fast wired speeds, and full wireless coverage throughout your house or office. Thank you for reading and have a nice day.

Should be at the top of your TV shopping list!!
on September 14, 2016
Posted by: Nate34
from North Bay Area, Ca.
When I started TV shopping I did a lot of research and at first bought the 55” KS8000. I liked that but when the KS9000 went on sale I exchanged it for that. One of the main reasons I went with the 9000 was the design (mainly the stand). On the 55” version of the 8000 the legs are about 44” apart. My stand that I have been using for years for several TV's is only 42” wide. So I had to use a large piece of wood on top of my stand just to be able to set up the 8000. This didnt really look all that great, and I didnt want to have to replace my stand with a wider one. And thankfully the 9000 has a more standard V shaped stand that fits and works great on my TV stand.
And the 9000 also has some improved specs and also looks better in my opinion. I didnt really like the glossy back of the 8000. Anyway I really love this TV. Ive had several Samsungs, and my last set was the JU7100. But decided it was time to upgrade. I dont really miss the lack of 3D because I think I literally only used it once on my 7100 to test it. And I do believe 3D is on its way to being extinct. Anyway the new thing now of course is HDR. And the KS9000 really takes advantage of that. It simply looks amazing. There are several Netflix shows that show what HDR is all about. And I also recently bought the new XBOX ONE S. Ive yet to buy an HDR Bluray, but I will soon. But as I mentioned there is plenty of HDR on Netflix and Amazon Video in the meantime.
One of the really cool new features this years Samsung TV's has its the new Tizen system. It is much more simple and streamlined this year. My favorite feature so far is how well the TV detects whatever device you are connecting and names it accordingly. I have a PS3, PS4, XBOX ONE, 360, and a PC laptop all connected to my TV. And it names them all without me having to do anything. The PS3 and PS4 are both automatically labeled as “Playstation”. And the XBOX One and 360 are both labeled by their full names each. I didnt have to type out names like I have before when customizing my input names. As you can tell I have a lot of things connected to my TV. And since it has 4 HDMI ports I use 2 HDMI 3 way splitters. They automatically switch to whatever source is powered on. So my system is set up like this:
HDMI 1 = Direct TV
HDMI 2 = PS3 and PS4
HDMI 3 = XBOX ONE S
HDMI 4 = PC, Wii U, and XBOX 360
The reason I am listing these all out is because I want to add how smart this TV is. It switches the settings, input name, and device type on HDMI 4 on its own depending on whichever one is powered on. And I have different settings for PC and the Wii U and 360. I use to have to manually switch the input type every time I went from one to the other. But when I power off a device it automatically switches all the settings and input types on its own.
Of course a review of a TV without talking about picture quality isnt complete so here we go. Simply put its amazing. The colors and picture are awesome. It also has very good motion handling, especially if you set Auto Motion plus to Auto. But this gives you the dreaded SOE (Soap Opera Effect). Which I really dont care for. So I use a custom setting for Auto Motion (Blur 3, Judder 3, and LED Clear Off). This gives it very good motion handling with very little SOE.
As you read above I am a gamer. And one of the main things I look for when TV shopping is the input lag (or lack thereof). And this is one of the best TV's released this year for low input lag. In Game mode the lag is only 20.5 ms. This is great, I dont notice any lag at all. I was also thinking of getting the Sony X930D but decided not to for a few reasons, one of those is that it has about 54ms of lag. This isnt terrible, but would be noticeable in my opinion.
The other main reason I went with the Samsung over the Sony is that I am still not sold on the Android Smart platform. I tested it on a 2015 Sony and it was just too buggy. I have read it is better this year, but in my opinion the new Tizen is much better.
Another thing I look for in TV's is a good USB media player for videos on hard drives. And Im happy to say that the Samsung recognizes and plays every single file type I have tested. It also has SRT subtitle support.
So overall I am very happy with this TV. It is by far the nicest set I have ever owned and I look forward to years of use with it. If you are looking for a new HDR 4K TV this should be on the top of your list. If you want a cheaper alternative go with the KS8000. Just be aware on the 55” version of the 44” wide legs. On the larger versions the 8000 has optional closer leg mounts, but for some reason Samsung did not do this on the 55” version. Anyway thanks for reading. If you have any questions or comments feel free. Ill try to answer and respond.

Turn any car into a Hi-Tech Car
on September 10, 2016
Posted by: Nate34
The Overdryve tablet is packaged very well. All the components are separated and protected. There is foam inserts to keep the tablet and the screen protected. In the box is the Overdryve tablet, Smart mount, bracket with suction cup, Car charger, USB Wall Charger, Dash mount disc, FM transmitter Antenna, AUX cable, and even an anti-glare screen protector which is nice.
The mount is very easy to install, but you need to decide where you want it. In my case I have a velour dash mat so it wouldn't stick there, but thankfully they sell an optional Bean bag dash pad. It weighs about 2 pounds and the the dash mount fits right onto it. And it stays in place due to its weight. The Bean bag dash pad is optional and isn't included. Anyway for the install you just have to attach the 2 pieces of the mount together, then remove the film that covers the suction cup and secure it to the pad. Once you have the mount all installed and ready the tablet just locks into place via a magnetic connection. It self aligns and snaps into place with ease. I was surprised at how well it aligned. I didn't even have to look close to make sure it was in the right place. The strength of the magnets force it into perfect alignment.
The tablets initial set up is also easy. There are 4 easy steps to get it going.
1) Connect to the internet. For me this was connecting to my T-Mobile Galaxy S7's hot spot.
2) Register the device. This allows you to get updates and support.
3) Connect to Bluetooth. Again I did this by connecting to my S7's Bluetooth connection.
4) Connect to the car stereo. There are 2 ways to do this. The recommended way is using the included AUX cable, but of course this depends on if you car has an AUX port. In my case
I have a 2012 Honda Civic that as an AUX port. You connect the AUX cable to the Smart
mount not the tablets input. But if your car does not have an AUX port you can connect through your cars FM stereo. To do this you connect the included FM antenna to the Smart mount. You then tap “Entertainment” on the screen, then “FM transmitter”. It will walk you through the connection steps. Its basically just choosing an open FM station, then connecting the Overdryve to that same station. That's it.
You are now done with the initial set up and ready to go. The main screen has 6 options. Messaging, Phone, Navigation, Cameras, Monitoring, and Entertainment. I was able to test most of these. The only one I didn't test was monitoring because it requires another optional item to monitor the air pressure in your tires and a few other things. However I was able to make and receive calls and texts, test the Navigation, as well as play music via Bluetooth from my phone (you can also use an SD card with music files on it. They all worked but I had an issue with static that came through my cars speakers whenever I used the AUX cable. There was a constant static when there was no audio coming through. This went away almost completely when I was playing music or during calls. Im not sure if this was the cable, or my car. This didn't happen if I used the FM transmitter connection type.
The Navigation worked very well. After connecting through my phone I was able to get the Overdryve's navigation app working, and transmitting audio through my cars speakers. Its a nice system with points of interest, exits, split screen junction, and built in maps. Which is nice since you don't have to worry about data that way. If you are connected to Wi-Fi you also have live features such as traffic, pit stops, etc.
I also tested the voice assistant features. Since I am using a Samsung device the first time I used it it asked if I wanted to use Google Voice, or S Voice. I chose Google voice. All the normal Google voice features worked but there was about a 2 second delay when I would say something before it would recognize it, then a couple more seconds to respond. I'm sure this will all depend on the strength of the Bluetooth connection.
You can also buy an optional wireless backup camera that can give you the backup view right onto the Overdryve's screen. And since it is wireless you don't have to worry about running wires all the way to the back of your car, or paying someone to do it. Its as simple as mounting the camera to the back of your car and connecting it to the Overdryve. I didn't have this option, but just wanted to mention it for anyone wanting reverse camera features.
So to sum it up this device does everything it says it does and does it well. If your looking for a Hi-Tech car this is a much easier and less expensive way to go vs. buying a whole new car. Thank you for reading.

First Touch Screen 1080p Laptop, and Love it
on July 2, 2016
Posted by: Nate34
Starting off with the packaging it is well protected without going overboard. There are separate areas for the laptop, and other parts to keep it from getting scratched. In the box is a charger and cable, a quick start guide, and of course the laptop with a nice protective sleeve to keep it from getting scratched or damaged while its in the box. When I opened it I was surprised at how great the metal finish is. It really looks sharp.
When I got it plugged in it was almost fully charged already which was nice. I went through the normal set up for Windows 10. And connected to my Wifi router and was ready to go. The laptop has both 2.4 and 5ghz bands which is the first laptop I've had that had the 5ghz which is nice. There are so many other electronics in the house that use 2.4ghz, so its nice to be able to switch over to 5ghz if necessary. It also has 4 USB ports (Two 3.0, One 2.0, and One Type C), 8gb of Ram (no need to add ram), a 3220mah Battery, Intel i5-6200U processor, and a 15” 1080p Multi Touch Screen. And of course it has a 360 degree screen so you can flip it over and use it like a tablet if you wanted. One thing to note is that this laptop does not have an optical drive. But I stopped using that on my other laptop years ago so its not missed. And if there ever was a need for one there are plenty of external ones out there. It also does not have an Ethernet port, but the Wifi is solid and fast enough that it doesn't need one. But with this as well if you need Ethernet there are plenty of USB Ethernet adapters available if you want to go with a wired connection.
I've had quite a few laptops, and use them as my main PC. But this is my first touch screen laptop I've had and its great. It is replacing another Acer laptop I have which is a 17” ES1-711. And this new laptop outperforms the lower spec ES1-711 in every way other than screen size. The laptop is also beautiful, easily the nicest laptop I have ever had. The brushed metal gives it a sleek look that also should help if it was ever dropped. The first thing I noticed when I got it booted up was just how much better the screen looked. This is also my first 1080p laptop. The text and images are crystal clear. It is very fast opening and closing programs, with no lag. The touch screen is very responsive and I had no issues where I needed to tap several times to get it to register the touch. The Wifi performance is great as well. I'm not sure what Acer did to improve wireless performance but it definitely helped.
In conclusion I am very happy with this laptop and it will be my main PC for years to come. If you are looking for a great performing and sharp looking laptop this is a great choice. The Silver look and Intel Core i5 processor combine for the nicest laptop I have ever had, and a great choice for anyone shopping for a laptop.

The best sounding headphones I have ever heard.
on June 3, 2016
Posted by: Nate34
Starting off the packaging it is done very well. Its simple yet well protected. Everything is laid out in a way that keeps things apart so they don't scratch each other, but still fit into a box that is only 8 ½ by 6”. In the box are the headphones in a very nice carrying case, a short USB charging cable, a 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable, a Quiet Comfort Airline adapter, Quick start reference insert, manuals in multiple languages, and some warranty info with how to register your product.
The headphones themselves are made of a sturdy matte black plastic that looks awesome. I've always loved the look of matte black. They fold up very nice to fit into the carrying case. They have very nice soft comfortable ear cups that feel great and twist. The headband is fully adjustable and even fit my large head with room to spare. The top of the headband has the same soft material as the ear cups. This all combines for a very comfortable fit.
When I first got them I connected them to my laptops USB port to charge. There is an LED that blinks amber while it charges, and turns solid green when full. This also tells you the amount of battery left while using them. The first charge took about an hour and 10 minutes to charge the headphones to full. They are listed at having up to 20 hours of battery per charge. So I don't expect to ever run out of juice on a typical day of using them. They have a power/ slider button to connect via Bluetooth, or NFC. A volume control Up and down, as well as multi function middle button for skipping forward and backward.
When I first put them on I was immediately amazed at the noise reduction. I run a fan in my room and I couldn't hear it at all. Ive never had any headphones that completely drowned out background sound like this.
Next I turned them on and there was a voice giving me the battery percentage saying “Battery at 100%, Ready to Pair”. I turned Bluetooth on my Galaxy S7 on, saw the Bose QC35 as a device and clicked to connect. I was then told audibly it was paired to Galaxy S7. Since it has NFC I decided to test that as well. All I had to do was tap my device to the NFC logo on the Bose and it connected again via Bluetooth. In the instructions it talks about the app called Bose Connect. So I went to the app store and downloaded it. It has a very simple drag to connect feature in the app. I was able to drag on my screen and it instantly reconnected to my S7. And within the app there are also some different settings and things you can do with your Bose headphones.

Now of course we are talking about headphones here so onto the sound. Due to Bose having a reputation of amazing sound I was expecting them to sound good, but sound this clear is something new to me. I tested them listening to my music stored on my Galaxy S7. The sound is amazing. I have never heard music sound this great. Extremely clear with plenty of Bass where it needs it. Highs, Lows, and Mids are all there with no sound lost, or any frequency drowning out another. Certain songs had left to right separation I wasn't even aware of until now. And as mentioned before almost all outside noise is gone so you can enjoy the music even more. Bose really nailed it here.
So if you cant already tell I really love these headphones. The ease of connecting, combined with comfort, a nice carrying case, and of course unbelievable sound make for an amazing product. If you are looking for top of the line sound in a versatile and well made headset look no further. The Bose Quiet Comfort 35 is the one to get.

Works Great for Extending and Strengthening WiFi
on May 12, 2016
Posted by: Nate34
Starting with the box and packaging it is well protected without going overboard. In the Box is the WiFi extender and a Quick Start Guide. The extender itself is wrapped in a nice foam bag to keep it from getting scratched. Unboxing was as simple as it gets. The extender itself also has an Ethernet port if you want to connect something to it wired as well.
The set up itself also couldn't have been easier. I thought I would have to use a web based set up page, or an install disc but it was simple. Just plug it in and wait for the LED to turn Amber. Then it was as easy as pressing 2 buttons..literally. All I had to do to set it up was press the WPS button on my router then the push button connect on the Extender until it blinks green and wait until it is solid green to set up the 2.4ghz band, then the repeat the process for the 5ghz band.
After it was fully set up I checked my WiFi settings on my Galaxy S7 and saw it had created 2 new networks with the same name as before, but with "ext" on the end. Once I had it set up near my router I unplugged the extender and took it to the main room of the house, plugged it back in and immediately noticed a jump in signal strength. For the 2.4ghz it went from about 2-4 bars up to 3-4 bars (4 Being Full bars). But the biggest jump was in the 5ghz band which is what I use the majority of the time. I use to drop as low as 0-2 bars when I was in a different room from the router, up to 3-4 bars. This is a huge improvement since 5ghz has a harder time going through walls when compared to 2.4ghz. And like I said I mainly use 5ghz because there is a lot less interference with it. I have quite a few devices that run on 2.4ghz such as the phone and a wireless keyboard and mouse. So now that the 5ghz is so much stronger I no longer have to switch to 2.4 when the signal strength gets low or even use to drop completely at times before the extender.
I also ran a few Speed tests comparing the routers 2.4 and 5ghz bands with the extenders 2.4 and 5ghz and again noticed improvements. Here are the results of a few simple speed tests I did with my Galaxy S7.
Router 2.4ghz: 62.45 MB/s Download | 12.23 MB/s Upload | 15ms Ping
Linksys Extender 2.4ghz: 85.80 MB/s Download | 12.28 MB/s Upload | 30ms Ping
Router 5ghz: 48.51 MB/s Download | 13.14 MB/s Upload | 29ms Ping
Linksys Extender 5ghz: 60.87 MB/s Download | 12.57 MB/s Upload | 15ms Ping
Now of course with anything like this your results will vary depending on your router, connection, and internet provider. But I just wanted to show my results for a general idea of what the extender did to improve my WiFi.
Bottom Line: If you are looking to strengthen your WiFi signal, fix dead spots, or improve speeds this is a great product. The set up was very simple and immediately improved my overall WiFi. And it works with all WiFi routers.

A Powerful & Feature Packed Router for any job
on May 11, 2016
Posted by: Nate34
The router itself is packaged well inside a large box with plenty of padding and the individual parts separated. In the box is the router, the AC adapter which comes in 2 parts (The small power brick and a separate cable to attach), one blue Ethernet cable, and a disc that has a PDF of the manual on it. The router itself has 8 antennas, 8 Ethernet ports, and 2 USB ports.
The set up was very easy. Raise up the antennas, plug in the AC adapter, then switch it on. Then connect your modem to the yellow port on the router. It takes a couple minutes to fully boot up the first time, so just wait until Linksys logo is lit. Then connect any other devices you are going to connect wired into any of the open Ethernet ports. Next open a web page to the Linksys smart WiFi router page to continue the set up. Go through the set up which is pretty straight forward naming your networks, and setting passwords. The initial set up was easier then I expected and didn't require me to install any programs. The last step in the set up was an optional set up to create a Linksys Smart WiFi account which allows you to access your router settings and network anytime, anywhere. After this I was done with the set up. The web based settings page is laid out very well with simple toggles and drop downs to turn settings on and off or change them.

After it was fully set up I did some testing comparing my old router with the new one and it performed great. The 5Ghz signal from this router is much stronger than my old one. With my old router I noticed that my Galaxy S7's WiFi connection would drop down to 2 bars when I wasn't right next to it. With the Linksys it stayed strong even through walls with 3-4 bars of strength. I tested Netflix as well with my Samsung 4KTV and was able to maintain a strong signal running a 4K movie when I was wired directly to the router as well as connected via WiFi in both the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands. There was no stuttering or buffering at all.
Here are the results of some of my speed tests. Of course your speeds and performance will vary depending on your connection speed and internet provider.
PC Wired test: 96.26 MB/s Download | 12.18 MB/s Upload | 12ms
Ping

PC Wireless 2.4GHz: 51.99 MB/s Download | 12.16 MB/s Upload |
18ms Ping

Galaxy S7 connected to 2.4GHz: 94.62 MB/s Download | 12.20 MB/s Upload | 18ms Ping

Galaxy S7 connected to 5GHz: 97.71 MB/s Download | 12.18 MB/s Upload | 18ms Ping
Bottom Line: This router is perfect for anyone looking for top of the line performance with power to spare. With 8 Ethernet ports, 2 USB ports, and excellent Wireless connectivity you can be sure it will handle whatever your network needs are.

Excellent TV!
By Faceman from Saint Paul, MN
I bought this TV after comparing several TVs at my local Best Buy store, and was a little hesitant since there were no reviews of it online yet since it is brand new. But after comparing a few options, I decided on this one and am so glad I did. The picture quality is outstanding, and I would say it is on par with some others that are quite a bit more expensive. The sound quality seems good as well. It has three HDMI inputs as well as a USB input (in addition to the other standard inputs), which is nice since some in this price range had fewer inputs. It was really easy to set up, and I'm very happy that I purchased this TV. The only negative at all is if you need more details from the user guide, the included set up instructions refer you to go online to the Sharp website, but this TV is so new that the user guide is not yet online. That wasn't a major problem since set up was really easy and settings are very straight forward. I would definitely buy this TV again if I was looking for another and recommend it to anybody.

Hello. Im still trying to get a new set after our huge earthquake in Napa, Ca. My nice 50" Samsung plasma bit the bullet. Ive been trying to find one that has a PC input since I use it to attach my laptop as well as others. And it seems like its so rare to see a pc input as well as more than 2 HDMI. And I see that this set has both.Still happy with it?

Outstanding Picture quality
By Program
The picture quality is amazing. Movies look outstanding on this TV. I am running everything through my Xbox One with a 4K rated HDMI cable. With my previous 4K TV, off-brand TV i purchased two years ago, the color range was not very big and the blacks were very grainy and made dark scenes look terrible. This TV has amazing color ranges and the black levels are tops! I would give the TV 5 stars without hesitating, but there are two issues i have with it. 1 - the input lag in most games i have played is very noticeable and can get a little frustrating when trying to play a game like Halo or Battlefield. I also wanted this tv because of the 240 hrtz refresh as opposed to the 120 on most other Samsung TV's. Even the improved refresh rate still doesn't clean-up the picture as much as i was hoping it would for fast motion, in video games or in movies. I have not seen sports yet, but tested the "Sports Motion" feature on both movies and games, but doesn't seem to have a big enough effect on the picture to make using the feature worth-while.
I am not regretting the purchase in the slightest, and it is a huge step up from what i had, and should be able to maintain is useful lifespan of 2-3 years to last 5-6 years and still be a "top of the line" TV.

Input lag

Have you tried engaging game mode for gaming? It will reduce the lag by a lot. In the reviews I have read this set has one of the lowest lags for 2015 4K Sets. Just an idea.

Great Laptop
By techjunkie07
I purchased this laptop a few days ago and man do I love it. This computer has everything I was looking for in a laptop (expect for an SSD) however I felt I could live without it considering the price for this machine. I have never owned an Acer always HP, had it for 7 years and it was time for an upgrade. I do really like this laptop fast, beautiful design and enough ports not to mention the PRICE again you wont be disappointed.

Should be at the top of your TV shopping list!!
By Nate34 from North Bay Area, Ca.

The one issue I am having is that the source list and its icons go blank every couple days, sometimes more. This is a known issue and apparently Samsung is looking into it. As a work around you can hold down the power button on the remote to force it to reboot. This brings the source list back, but its still an issue. Its only the upper source list, the lower one doesnt go away. If you own the set you'll know what I mean by the upper one. Thankfully this is an issue that can be fixed via firmware update, but as of 1131 (9-23-16) it still happens. If it gets fixed Ill try to update my review.

Battery question
November 3, 2016
I know these have better battery life than the previous gens but have you had them actually run out on you? I have 2 sets of Gen 2's now that I just swap out when one headset dies and then start charging it. I use my A50's for all my TV audio not just gaming so they run out after about 5 hours or so, so Im hoping that the Gen 3's will always have enough battery to get through the day as long as I set them back on the charger when not using them. Thanks

Great headset
By Anthony
I have owned A40s and currently own a pair of last gen A50s. The new A50s make a lot of great improvements over last gen. No chat cable is great and the docking station acts as an external sound card for the PC and does not require an optical cable for full 7.1 which is awesome. Audio quality seems to be better that the old A50s. I would occasionally get some low buzzing noise in the old model but the new ones are crisp and have no such issues so far. Battery life is significantly improved and the auto shut off is a welcome addition(the headset senses that it has been put down and shuts off after 15 seconds. Once it senses it have been moved it turns right back on. Usually the audio is already coming in by the time I put it on my head). Build quality is super solid. Expensive but they sound great and are a quality product. I am not wild about the color scheme but I can deal with it.

I can't get my new tv to come on today. What do you think is wrong?

Did you get it to work? My only suggestion would be to unplug it and plug it back in. Or try to plug it into a different outlet. You could also plug something else into the outlet your TV was using just to make sure it has power going to it.

We have the 8550 Samsung 4K UHD TV does it have a camera? If not what kind do you recommend?

Camera for Skypeing
I believe the one for your set is the VG-STC5000/ZA. It plugs directly into the USB port and clips to the top of the set.

Modem/Router

I am trying to stream Netflix to two different televisions.. Do I need to purchase a second Modem?
If so, will cox cable recognize a second modem? In other words, must I pay more and register a second Modem with them?
NO, you dont need 2 modems. All you need is 1 modem, and a wireless router. Then set up the wireless on the router, then any device that has internet can connect to the router by searching for wireless and entering your password.
