Continued solid printers from a long line!

This HP LaserJet printer continues HP’s long line of quality printers with this its latest iteration. And HP has continued to up the ante in the printer world by offering both a compelling ink and printer replacement service as well, giving everyone a reason to seriously consider one of these printers.
The build quality and engineering is definitely there, from packaging to set up. Getting started is fairly straightforward, even though I did have to double-back and manually set the printer up on our network. Honestly, though, this wasn’t a major problem, and the wizard that HP takes you through should be sufficient for most situations.
Even better, Windows and Apple setups are a breeze, with no additional software needed in either case. Both printer setups then allow you to create whatever printer setup you need.
Of course, printing is fast and in color, when needed — perfectly fine for personal or home office use.
Final note. While HP’s ink replacement service is fairly well-known (I’ve subscribed to it with another older HP printer), what I found really nice is their $5.99/month (I think it is) paper replacement service. I got my first box of paper, and it’s pretty good, and that’s a fair price to me.
You can’t lose with HP.

A great way to keep your phone's screen safe

The ZAGG InvisibleShield Glass XTR3 screen cover will be exactly what you need to make sure that the iPhone's already impressive scratch-resistant screen has what would arguably be the only other protection you would need for your phone.
In fact, having a screen cover along with a phone case -- assuming that case would fit the phone along with the additional thickness of a screen cover -- is going to be your best bet, in my view, to fully protect your phone. It might even be as good of an insurance policy as what typical phone carriers would otherwise charge you monthly for, which is something to think about as you will have to pay for your remaining balance out of pocket if your phone gets destroyed and you are on a payment plan.
The screen protector is pretty straightforward to lay on your phone, as it has complete instructions, wipes and a plastic guide to help make sure that the protector is laid correctly across your phone's face.
Once again, do not expect to place your phone in extreme situations; this screen cover is meant to deal with most situations that anyone would come across in regular life. However, if you have teenagers that really rought up the front of their phone, or lead a life that does the equivalent, this is definitely an additional piece of protection for your phone.

Excellent case that allows charging

The ZAGG Milan Snap Magsafe compatible case is an excellent and tough case that will definitely work for the latest generation of iPhone 15 phones.
The quality of the case puts it in line with other top-notch cases on the market. I would seriously consider this case in the event that you have teenagers, and even if you do not have teenagers, part of the point of the quality and reliability of this case is to say that pretty much anything that a teenager might do with a phone, this case will withstand.
Of course, do not expect the case to survive anything extreme, such as in terms of either temperature or having something excruciatingly heavy on top of the phone while in the case. If it is not abundantly obvious, the case is designed for general life actions, it is not meant to be taken into extreme situations.
Aside from all of the above, the case provides a good grip, so it feels great in the hand. Plus, the area that allows the cameras to protrude has a lip so that if the phone were to drop to the ground, the cameras are reasonably protected from such a drop.
Overall, this is a great case and I would highly recommend it.

The 800 cfm – 12-amp Electric Turbine Blower is, quite simply, the most powerful electric blower in the marketplace. Other 800 cfm (Cubic Feet per Minute) blowers don’t put out wind power at 135 mph. Physics shouldn’t allow it, but our engineers found a workaround. And even though you’re going to want to blow at that speed all the time, you can use the variable speed control to dial it down. When you need even more power than the 800 cfm/135 mph can provide, there’s the Hyper-Stream nozzle that focuses all the airflow right where you need it. Believe it or not, all that power can be controlled with one hand. The whole unit is only 6.6 lbs., and that amazing Turbine tech creates a wind tunnel that is easy to point. The cord retainer keeps extension cords from pulling apart, even on snags. And you don’t need any tools to put it together. Time to go clear that lawn.

Powerful electric blower

The Worx WG521 corded blower is exactly what you need for any sort of prosumer-level blowing, with the added bonus that, with a cord, you never run out of power for the device. Sometimes it is worth considering a tool that is not beholden to a battery, and this device is definitely one of those types.
This is a solid blower and comes in two parts. You basically attach the solid plastic nose to the blower engine, then attach an extension cord to the blower housing, and you are good to go.
There appeared to be three speeds used by way of a relatively stiff rocker switch, where you will really have to hold onto the device at full force. With the power that this will afford you, you will have no problems either clearing several hundred square feet in minutes or even simply drying off the same amount of area.
As mentioned, this is a very solid device and should be expected to last for many years to come. The blower even happens to look pretty good, too — the engine compartment looks like something off of a jet airplane!
I definitely recommend buying this blower.

Good prosumer-level scanner

While the RapidReceipt RR-400W desktop scanner will certainly not be replacing a full-on professional-level document scanner anytime soon (and it was not created for such a thing), it is still a great device for most consumer-level needs.
I like the fact that it will scan in receipts and other such documents while using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to save important info. What's more, you can save either as a full-on image or have the paper-based data sent into a variety of third-party vendors or software so that you can then take that data and combine it with small business numbers, such as with QuickBooks.
This is a one-way scanning device, so if you are thinking that you could take a document and scan via your smartphone and feed it into the scanner, you're really missing the point of what the device is capable of. It will, however, scan a document and you can send it to your phone or other cloud-based accounts.
A great use case for the scanner is for mail, and all sorts of it. This is one way to get rid of counter clutter, trash what's junk, and save off to electronic documents that data that matters.

One of the best cameras on the market

I have previously had Arlo cameras from a few years back, so I had already had some expectations as to the performance of the Pro 5S 2K camera.
For testing, this camera was put outside in order to track the comings and goings of my particular street. When paired with a trial plan (I'm intending to go after the $5/month individual camera plan), Arlo's AI is in full swing. The camera quite successfully is able to tell the difference between a car and a person, which makes the snapshot of video clips a lot easier to manage through.
And it is true -- you don't get the AI aspects of object recognition unless you're a part of one of Arlo's camera plans.
Regarding the hardware itself, it certainly appears comfortably weather-resistant, and while you could install the device where it'll directly be impacted by rain, I've chosen to keep it under the relative protection of a roof.
Also, if you don't enable color-based night vision, you'll save a lot more battery life, because color-based night vision invokes a pretty bright light (visible in the marketing materials for the camera), which will drain the battery rather significantly. The good news is that a recharge only takes a couple of hours, and a secondary battery is available for purchase.
Overall, I'd go with this camera if I had a choice in security systems.

The Logitech Litra Beam LX LED light is the perfect companion for anyone's desk, be that for a professional, gamer, or any other situation that needs a solid, steady light.
The materials of the device are solid and relatively heavy, though the base of the light is more than sufficient to handle standing it up.
I do like the ability to make extremely granular changes to the color and brightness of the light, on top of the fact that I can have my webcam essentially have the light automatically turn on or off. This is really critical during those times when you are having back-to-back meetings and you do not really have time to make sure that your light either stays on (if it was off).
Beyond the above, it is also helpful that the light is portable, in spite of the fact that it is somewhat weighty, which means that you are not tied down to a light that might have to be installed in a semi-permanent fashion -- helpful if you ever have the need to set up shop in aother room of the house.
I would definitely recommend this light for anyone on the market for it.

Simple webcam that does its job

The Logitech Brio 300 is a solid, basic web cam that can be used across a variety of applications on both Windows and MacOS machines. In fact, they boast a number of such apps on the box in which the camera is housed in, so you'll know that this camera will work with pretty much everything.
I tested this camera on a MacOS device. As a testament to the ease of setup, the only thing I had to do was download a Logitech app that directly ties into the Brio in order for any settings to be changed and for me to otherwise control the camera.
While there are a handful of video resolution settings to choose from, I typically allow the application I'm using -- whether Google Meet or Zoom, for example -- to set those for me.
In all honesty, whether it comes to smartphones or web cams, they appear to me to be using essentially the same camera systems, so the quality is actually going to be more than what you need --clear graphics with no stutter on frame rate.
The only knock I give is that the lens cover, while otherwise easy to swirl to open or close, does require you to keep the camera steady, else the supporting clamps (which aren't spring-loaded) tend to give way, and you have to re-position the camera. However, once you get used to how the lens flap works, it's not a huge deal.
Overall, if you're in need of a USB-C-terminated web cam, this would be the one to get!

Great minimalist deadbolt

Let's get the basics out of the way. The Level Lock+ Smart Lock is definitely a deadbolt lock, so make sure that if you decide to purchase this device, you already have a matching doorknob. Also, keep in mind that the electronics in this deadbolt do not extend to control anything on your doorknob, so if your doorknob also locks, it will continue to be a manual process to lock and unlock it (something maybe folks don't think about when considering these kinds of things, but are crucial for the process of securing your house!).
Overall, this is a great deadbolt made of top-quality materials, so if cost is an issue for you, you won't be dismayed by less-than-stellar materials. Plus, I personally like the design that the included battery actually sits within the bolt itself; not only do you have to get to the end of the bolt to unscrew it, but if a perpetrator actually cut the bolt, they'd kill the battery to the electronics, making it impossible to electronically open the lock (you'd need one of the two included keys). I haven't tested that out, but the way the battery is situated in the bolt, that's what, in fact, would happen.
The hardest thing for most folks to deal with will be following directions. If you can follow directions to get your current deadbolt uninstalled and this one installed, you'll be golden. Honestly, the directions are very straightforward, but if you miss key aspects -- such as making sure the "TOP" side of the bolt assembly is, in fact, "up," or that you do not want to use a drill when screwing in the multiple screws (seriously, you'll damage the threads and/or heads) -- you'll definitely have issues.
Pairing on the Level app was also straightforward -- the device uses Bluetooth for such setup. There is an extra step for setting things up with the Apple Home collection. Not sure if they support anything for Google, so keep that in mind if you have such devices.
Overall, this is a great deadbolt.

If you want an approximately two foot by two foot-sized square glass mouse pad, this is going to be the device for you.
To be honest, there is not a whole lot to really say about this particular mouse pad except that it is definitely big for a mouse pad, it is made of what appears to be tempered glass at about a half inch thick (so it definitely has some weight to it, perhaps around five pounds or so -- I have not precisely weighed the device, so do not take that for an exact measurement).
Regarding performance, if you have enough space on your desk or work area, you will definitely have the square footage for a great pad, and if you are using something like a laser-based mouse, you should have no problems with the mouse gliding over the surface.
You could definitely break this pad, so I would certainly not recommend getting this pad if you are in a household that has small kids who happen to be active enough to be able to pull the pad off a desk.
All in all, this is a great glass pad that is both stylish and functional.

To me, the bigger issue is whether a device that sticks out about 1/2 to 3/4 inch from your back would work with whatever gear you're wearing or carrying.
If that kind of size isn't an issue, I'm not sure how long the adhesive will continue sticking under your conditions. There's not more than half-an-inch wide by about 1 1/2 inches of adhesive to begin with.

Trying to find a system that works in a house over 4000 sq feet. WiFi extenders didn’t work. Have a Spectrum WiFi router. What router is compatible w/Spectrum that I can use with mesh system. Do nodes just plug in? Will be used for iPads and phones only.
I'd go with the taller Velops, as they work well with our gigabit ethernet (via Cat6 cabling in the house directly connected to our provider, Windstream).

In our area, we have Windstream, and we have fiber to the house at that. What happens is that we also have Cat6 ethernet cabling in the house. The only thing the tech did was make sure that the cabling that was coming from outside the house was properly terminated, and then that simply plugged into the bottom of one of my Velop nodes.
Then, we simply set up for PPPoE (username and password), and I was good to go.
It was extremely simple to set up and completely removed the need for us to use any other modem for signaling.

Yes, absolutely. In fact, I did just this with my original set of taller tower Velops.
When setting up the main node that physically connects to the Internet, the app will seamlessly allow you to check whether you connect directly to the Internet or, as with any cable modem, you connect through that modem. The app takes care of all the rest of the setup from there.
You will have far better range than even with the Technicolor modems that Comcast provides.

Yes, can be used on a laptop. In fact, I received a review unit and did just that.
Since this is not a Bluetooth-based device, it uses what I call a USB wireless bridge (small square box that's included with the headset) in order to communicate with a PC. This will require a free USB port, and the charging cable (if simultaneously charging and listening) will require a second USB port.

Can the Velop be easily integrated into a AT&T U-verse setup either to act as the router or be placed into bridge mode? I'm primarily interested if the Velop can be placed into bridge mode which would make the Velop an access point.
We have Xfinity Internet using our own modem/router combo. When setting up the VELOP system, any existing network configurations are completely separate from the VELOP mesh network. In fact, on initial node setup, all that's required is to have a physical Ethernet cable routed from the VELOP node to your existing modem/router Ethernet port (non-WAN). The Linksys app then has the VELOP node configure itself for Internet access.
Unless you really want to go the bridge route with your existing setup, the VELOP mesh network allows for its own wifi SSID setup without bothering anything currently existing.
