Really Great Phone

The phone comes with a USB-C Wall Charger, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a USB-A to USB-C cable and a USB-A to USB-C adapter.
The packaging is reminiscent of the Nexus lines of packaging. No frills but high quality packaging and accessories.
The phone is almost identical in size to a iPhone 6s (see photos) and considerably smaller than a Nexus 6P (see photos).
The first thing I noticed picking up the phone, it feels high quality. Definitely a step up from the previous Nexus line. This is the phone all fans of the Nexus line up have been waiting for.
The phone is the fastest most responsive phone I have ever used.
As for the look of the phone, from the front, it looks like any other phone with no distinguishing characteristics.
The back, does not look like a finished thought. Half glass, which it seems as if it uses the glass as a way to handle the heat, and half aluminum. The aluminum has a very nice grip to it. The glass is as slick as it can be.
I don't dock any points for the look. It can grow on you or be covered with a case. Until I took the pictures, I forgot what my 6P looked like without its case. Most people who use cases probably feel the same way.
The screen and audio are top notch. One minor flaw I found in the design, it is easy to cover the speaker when holding the phone in portrait or landscape layouts.
Wireless and Cellular antennae are possible the best I have ever used in a Google branded device.
From watching online reviews, I have found out that the speaker covering is cloth where most other devices are a metal covering. As noted in the review, this important to know if you are cleaning the phone earpiece. I also discovered this phone is much more durable than its IP rating. Check out the review from JerryRigged on YouTube.
The reason I have dropped one star, and this is possibly a positive in the long run. The sim that came with the phone would not connect to the Verizon network. I attempted to use my Verizon sim card, but it was the wrong size. (I would have cut the card, but my sim cutter is in a box that is in storage until we get into our new place) So I took the sim out of my Nexus 6P I use on the Fi networks. It worked without issue. Interestingly enough, none of the Verizon preloaded software was installed.
This phone deserves to be listed among the best on the market, and deserves consideration as the best on the block.

This makes a great cup of coffee. Everything you need is there except the coffee. There is a built in scoop on the right side of the unit.
The only real drawback is the recipe book that is included. The recipe book lacks some important info, like how much water to have in the reservoir. Also, many of the recipes are very vague in how to prepare the drink. Needing to have a blender for some of the recipes makes for a undertaking to have a simple cup of coffee. As a hint, the frother will substitute for a blender in most cases.
The unit uses #2 filters.

Good Bargain Tablet With Some Flaws

Let me preface this with there being two of these in my household, mine (review unit) and my sons. At points in this review i will reference the other tablet as a comparison for flaws i detect in the tablet I am reviewing. This may be more a flaw of the Acer QA process, or may just be a one off issue. My issues may also be corrected with a system reset, but they are not bad enough to go that drastic.
Screen:
As with any tablet, the screen is the main component. Color accuracy is quite nice and can be adjusted with Acer included application MiraVision. I can not speak to the quality of Miravision on this tablet as none of my display adjustments take. I can not dim the screen outside of MiraVision and the contrast and other settings fail inside the app. As comparison, my sons tablet works flawlessly and he likes the Vivid option on his tablet. Essentially, with my tablet, I have no control over the display properties. This is the reason for the first star docked.

Overall viewing angles are very good, and the picture is sharp. 1280x800 resolution.
Apps/BloatWare:
Acer did a fine job not adding unneeded applications and only enhanced the stock Android experience.

The only real exception to this is something Acer calls LeftSwipe (I think, I can't find the name after the initial setup). This is basically a Google Now styles social media hub. I don't use it.
There is a set of tools called Acer BYOC. I assume BYOC means Bring Your Own Content. All the apps seem to connect to your PC as your personal cloud. Nothing really earth shattering. The applications under the group are abPhoto, abMusic, abFiles. All three connect to your PC to access the data. There is also Acer portal, kind of a manager of all the ab products. This does involve setting up your PC. I use none of them, but I can see someone finding them useful.
Then there is the Iconia Suite. You have Pocket preloaded and can not be uninstalled. You also have EZ Snap, a screen shot tool. And last, but not least, EZ Wakeup. This allows double tap to wake the tablet, two thumb wake, five finger wake, etc.
There is also a Kids Center and Kids Center Painter. Both are somewhat self explanatory. Kid center sets up a kid friendly desktop. It is easy to exit, but may be useful for smaller children.
The last App preinstalled is System Doctor. Not much of a doctor, but it will show resource usage and give the option to "Optimize" the system. It kills background apps and frees up memory. It also gives you options to clean up cache, history, files, etc. It is a decent tool to be added, but I have others I have used for years. It isn't good enough to make me switch, but a nice add other manufacturers don't include.

Expandable storage, very important as there is only 16 GB of space on the tablet. Why manufacturers only give 16 GB of storage on a media consumption device like a tablet boggles the mind. After the OS is loaded, there is minimal storage for apps and media.
There is 1 GB of memory, this is something I have never understood with most tablets. Why only 1 GB while so many phones now have up to 6 GB. Yes this is a budget tablet, but many performance quirks could be resolved with just 1 GB more memory.
I don't ding a star for the storage/memory, 16 GB is laughable on any tablet, nor the lack of memory as most manufacturers don't offer anything more. Just a pet peeve if you will.
Sound:
Here is a docked star, of all my media consumption device gripes...placing speakers/speaker on the back of the device is NUMBER 1. Sound is OK at best, but you have to cup your hand around the speaker to redirect the sound for better audio quality.

Look and Feel:
I like that they leave enough space on the bezel to hold the tablet without registering a touch. The back panel is very plasticy and does not give a quality feel, but it is textured so it has some grip. If you add a case designed for the tablet, hard to find but worth the web search, the tablet looks much higher quality than without a case.

Button placement is comfortable and where you would expect it to be. I do have issues in landscape mode where volume up and down seem to be reversed.

Have used once, decent picture for a tablet. Some neat options in the camera to play with. Lasts about 10 minutes, I have not used them since.

The only real difference between the two is I/O and cpu scores. i don't hold much faith in performance apps, as the hardware can be tweaked to fudge the scores. But it is a good reference point.

More memory and storage and this would be a must buy. As it stands, this is a solid budget tablet worth a look especially if on sale.
If my display brightness could be adjusted, this would have been a 4 star tablet. My sons i did rate at 4 stars, so Acer QA cost half a star overall.
Some day I hope to see budget tablets with 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage as standard fare. If companies started rolling out something like that, the tablet market might start growing again. As it stands, not much sets one tablet apart from another.

Great Headphones Period

Sound quality for these headphones are on par with their wired counterparts. Sound controls are inline and well placed for easy access.
The microphone performs much better than I expected, people I have talked to on the phone said I was clear and could not tell I was using a mic. The mic is built into the inline controls.
The ear pieces are quite comfortable and light. The base/receiver the ear tips extend from are rounded and smooth to avoid rubbing against your outer ear. As with most headphones you will get various sized options for ear size and comfort.
Inline controls are on the right hand side about 3 inches from the right headphone. The inline controls require some force to adjust volume, so you will not accidentally change volume. The power button, status lights and USB port are all on the right hand headpiece. All call controls, volume, etc are in the inline controller.
Battery life has been quite good. My initial usage points to about 12 hours battery life based on the Bose Connect app battery status, packaging claims 6 hours. There is built in battery savings for auto power off that can be adjusted in the app.
Speaking of the Bose Connect App, available in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The app is very basic and straightforward on Android. Open the app, it will prompt for you to turn on the headphones. Pair. Done. The App is not required unless you plan on making setting changes, such as default voice prompt language or auto power down options.
My only concern is the USB port cover, it is rubber and feels well built, tight fit and strong, but I fear this could easily get broken off the headphoness.
Packaging includes the headphones, Bose headphone case, 12 inch standard micro USB cable, (1) large and (1) small replacement ear tips, manuals and warranty information.
In the included photos I have a US Quarter and a AA size battery for reference for the size of the buds.

Great Hardware, Software Flawed

Range, signal strength and options are all outstanding. Unfortunately, the software has some bugs. The network map does not always display all the network devices. When changing information on a device, such as display name, it does not always save.
Setting a static id, route and most other basic network functions could not be easier.
The issues should be fixed in firmware updates, until then 4 stars.

Excellent Once Configured

I had to dock one star due to the configuration. My router does not have a working WPS button (there is a soft button in the routers advanced setup I remembered later) forcing me into the browser based setup. By default, the extender set its IP address to the same address as my router. While connecting to both my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, the setup would fail on the 2.4 GHz network. The entire config I went through setting password and configuring the 5 GHz network would be lost and the extender would factory reset.
To get around the issue, I did a manual configuration. A quick tip, set the extenders password and change the IP address first. With it using 192.168.1.1 as a default address, you need to know the new address otherwise you will need to log into your router to find the device IP.
After this, the extender has been a delight. My network strength in the two back bedrooms of my home now have near perfect signal. Streaming Netflix, YouTube, etc. works without any stuttering/buffering.
I will be receiving a new router this week, so I will be able to test the configuration again after the new hardware arrives, this time with WPS. I will post a follow up or edit this review at that time.

After latest update, getting 2 plus days battery life. Wear has an easy interface to mute notifications from specific applications. I am looking forward to Android L and the Wear upgrade that will be coming with it.
My only negative, the watch band that comes with it made my wrist itch where the clasp touched my wrist. No biggie, I easily swapped the watch band out for something more comfortable.
My other gripe is a standing one for every gadget I have purchased since they started putting plastic over everything. I am still picking plastic off the watch weeks after purchase.
As for concerns about seeing the screen outdoors in direct sunlight, I have it set at the lowest brightness setting and have not had an issue seeing it in direct sun. Increasing the brightness makes it even easier to see. If you wear glasses/sunglasses with UV protection or Transitions lenses, you may have issues seeing it outside. I think it is more Transitions lenses than the UV coating.
Getting this watch near $150 is a no brainer. I purchased at $180 and it is still worth it to me. I honestly wish I didn't wait so long to purchase.

Purchased this for my android tablet (Viewsonic G-Tablet) and phone (HTC DInc). Works as intended. I needed something to use to annotate PDF files. I do live in Iowa, so a bonus feature is the ability to use this on my phone when I am forced to wear gloves.
The weight is appropriate, has the feel of a quality pen.
Don't expect this, nor any stylus, to be a precision device. It does the job it is intended to do.
What's great about it: Weight and feel
What's not so great: I can see the soft tip getting damaged easily if you carry it in pants pocket.

Just a quick update: The App has been updated to include these headphones. Still very basic, but the App on Android will allow you to control which two devices the headphones are connected to. Obviously you would keep the phone connected to control switching, but the app will allow you to control which device the headphones. This makes an easy switch from laptop to tablet to work laptop, etc. This control is under the Bluetooth button after the headphones connect to the phone.

So does this have pre-set color changing led's like the hyperx alloy core? or do I have to install software to change the colors? I know it says 10-zone rgb illumination, im just very new to pc stuff and not sure.
SteelSeries Engine is the software you would need to install to make mods to the color options. You will want to install the software if you want something more than a rainbow keyboard. There is a control button (FN key) that combined with F9 rotates thru the color configs.

How does Alexa give you directions to your desired destination? Do they show up on the screen, or is this Alexa feature not available on this dash cam?
Alexa is available, but I do not use the service since I have Android Auto in my vehicle and on my phone. Sorry can not report on how it works.

This specs states that it has GPS. Does it record GPS location and speed on the viewed camera footage? There is a GPS powered mount that is available for these types of cameras. Are these extra mounts needed to record GPS and speed on the footage?
GPS location and speed/telemetry data are collected and can be viewed from the PC and phone apps. The accuracy is quite good too. Time and date are set/verified based on GPS position.

I am inquiring about the upholstery/multi purpose tool. Can the clear cover be removed for cleaning? I have an indoor pet, and with other machines, pet hair has gotten caught, when suctioning up messes. What kind of maintenance is there to clean the hose?
If I am understanding correctly, it is a pretty easy cleanup,. There really is nowhere for the hair to get caught. You can rinse the hose thru by running water thru it.
