Impressed and Surprised

Wow - I didn't expect these to be so good! I tried several different wireless headsets including Bose, Beats and Logitech. I read review after review after review and the Everest 700s (NOT the Elite noise cancelling model) didn't appear much. I came across them on You Tube in a comparison of 5 headsets and the reviewer was really impressed with the 700s. So I found a few other reviews and they all gave high marks. They were on sale at BB for $149. I hadn't seen them on previous trips to my local BB because they are at the end cap of a different aisle, not with the other headphones on display. In fact I had to ask where they were. Anyway, I tried them and they sounded fantastic! And being on sale they were less expensive than other respected brands. From my experience, I found the controls, comfort and sound to be impressive for this price range, albeit I never tried anything more expensive than the Bose Soundlink Wireless. They look pretty good too. If you're struggling to find what you're looking for in a wireless headset and you haven't tried the JBL Everest 700s, give them a shot. If you had the same experience as me, I think you'll be happily surprised.

Awesome Machine!

Every time I use this laptop, I like it even more. I recommend it for sure and I've tried several other 13.3" laptops to my eventual disappointment (Lenovo, Asus, Dell).
PROS:
+ Looks great - high quality build
+ Outstanding value and feature set - i7, 8GB Ram, 256 GB SSD, 1080 screen, etc. is hard, if not impossible to find at this price point from other brands
+ Thin and pretty lightweight considering the features and power
+ Good connectivity for peripherals
+ Super fast (yes, super fast)
+ Quick start-up, shutdown and wake-up
+ Quiet (thanks SSD!)
+ Fantastic battery life for a thin laptop (varies depending on processes)
+ Screen is gorgeous - bright, clear and great viewing angles
+ Fast Wi-fi (AC)
+ Smooth operating, very comfortable high quality feeling touchpad (some complain about random misbehavior but it's likely because they don't have the latest Synaptics driver from HP)
+ Can use a stylus. Works great with OneNote. I have the Dell stylus 750-AAGN
+ Not loaded with a bunch of useless, resource hogging bloatware (except in my opinion, McAfee)
+ The protective sleeve that's included is a nice touch
CONS:
None of these are deal breakers for me, but a few considerations....
- It's easy to accidentally hit the power button when you move the laptop which puts it in sleep mode
- The front edge of the aluminum case isn't rounded, not necessarily sharp, but may irritate your palm
SUGGESTIONS (in my opinion only of course):
* Uninstall McAfee and enable Windows Defender
* Read-up on potential Microsoft Edge and Cortana security issues and adjust privacy settings to your satisfaction (if you plan to use either)

Great Performer!

Upgrade to Windows 10 and you are likely to find you have a $150 machine that performs considerably beyond your expectations. I found that the Windows 10 upgrade noticeably improved speed over 8.1. The only negatives (both minor to me) are the 32GB drive (but with the micro SD slot for additional storage, it's workable) and it's kind of a fingerprint magnet. In any case, I DEFINITELY recommend this little gem - lightweight, small, surprisingly fast, very good speakers by my ears (this is very subjective) and the keyboard is comfortable considering it's smaller than normal form factor. I considered the HP Stream 11 but the Asus looks nicer and I thought it felt better to use. Bottom line - you get more than $150 worth. If you're on the bubble, go for this. For the price, it's a no-brainer. Just skip a night out and use that cash :-)

Disappointed

I thought this was (finally) the perfect headset. Unfortunately unless I was calling from a quiet environment, everyone I called complained of background noise. Motorola's website states the headset has echo cancellation and noise reduction but I guess it's not very effective. I was really bummed because the headset is fantastic in every other way.
What's great about it: Features, quality, useability
What's not so great: Excessive background noise at receiving end of call
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does this computer have a webcam and mic?

I use video all the time so I need to know
Yes. You open the webcam with the camera app. It took me a while to figure that out. Cortina (or whatever it's called) helps you set-up the mic.

Was anyone able to upgrade the OS to Windows 10?

When I first turned on this machine, it offered me to download Windows 10 and upgrade. It took quite a while to download Windows 10 and when it started to install Windows 10, it appears that more space is needed to install Windows 10. I did not install any new software, and even without any software installed, there is not enough space to install Windows 10.
What's the point of advertising "free upgrade to Windows 10" when the computer doesn't even have enough space to do so?
I agree this is a pain due to the small drive, but you can use the micro SD slot for the extra space needed to upgrade. It's a simple process because you are guided along. Warning: The upgrade takes a LONG time. Repeat LONG time. Be patient. I wasn't patient on my first attempt. I thought it was locked-up because it seemed "stuck" at 21%, so I did a hard reboot. Bad move because I had to reinstall 8.1 and start over. I was bummed. The second time around I let it run its course and all worked well.
