Great For the Price

I was surprised by how much I actually like this product. It has a lot for a smallish price tag. It is fast, has more storage than I need for a tablet, and it starts up quickly. It is also very sturdy. I would have no problem giving it to my child to play a game on. The back of the tablet is practically a case itself since it is so slip resistant and the tablet is thicker than I was expecting. It took awhile for me to get used to the size of the screen because my tablet is much smaller but there is nothing wrong with the screen; I love watching videos on it. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 has more to do with how long it takes for the battery to charge and how large things look on the screen. I charged it overnight (it was at about 25%) and it was still only in the 70% range when I checked on it 8 hours later. That is way too long for an item to need to charge. Also, the larger screen just makes everything larger so it is just like I have zoomed in. When I went to Ebay's site on the tablet I could see very little because the words "Ebay", "Following", "Today", and "Categories" took up the entire screen. I find that very annoying. However, overall it is a good tablet, and I would consider it a great tablet for the price.

Pretty Good

It is a good product when it works correctly. Set up was really easy but for some reason in the middle of the night it disconnected. I then spent hours trying to get it figured out. However, I want to mention that I am not an expert in this type of thing. I did get it figured out and it works like a dream. Does exactly what it says it will and the instructions were very detailed on the initial setup. I definitely recommend this item. Everyone that lives in my household has told me that the item is great. I gave it a 4 instead 5 just because it disconnected itself in the middle of the night and I had to work on getting it reconnected again.

Very Good For A Beginner

I did a lot of research before I bought this item. I looked at online reviews again and again and most people recommended this so I decided to buy it. From what I read the previous version of the Up 2 had a bad closure on the band. This is not the case with this one. In fact, it can sometimes be hard to get undone. Pros include: water-resistant, so small I forget I am wearing it, a great iPhone app, looks nice and can be confused with just regular jewelry, battery life is pretty good, and it is very sturdy. There are also some cons though. Cons include: no screen so you have to check the app often, doesn't always integrate well with My Fitness Pal, the food database for Jawbone's app is sadly lacking, it doesn't include notifications, and the sleep tracking rarely works correctly. Even with the problems it has, it is better than most other trackers I have used. The app is very important to me when using a fitness tracker, and Jawbone has a great app. I definitely recommend this product but it is also important to know that there are some cons to this item. It is definitely not perfect but it is a good tracker.

When I buy a computer I am just looking for a computer that works fast, has enough storage for my many papers, PowerPoints, and Excel projects for school, and that surfs the web fast. I don't do anything with video other than use youtube occasionally or watch Blip so I don't need anything exceptional great. I have a MacBook Pro but got annoyed with only having a laptop. I wanted a desktop too and so I read a lot of reviews and did extensive research on the iMac and the Mac Mini. After reading the reviews I decided that the Mac Mini would work just fine for me. I love a lot of the features but I wish it came automatically installed with things like Adobe Reader which I need for school. As a college student I do a lot of writing, especially late at night, and I prefer a desktop. This was exceptionally easy to set up, less expensive (but still plenty expensive for a college student), and runs well. All in all I recommend it if you don't plan to create videos or do a lot of gaming. If you do like to do those two things I would choose the iMac. Either way, I prefer a Mac to a PC which is why I have both a MacBook Pro and a Mac Mini.
What's great about it: easy to set up, easy operating system, easy to set up necessary programs like Microsoft Office
What's not so great: Takes awhile to boot up

MacBook Pro features Intel's latest quad core processor, the core i5 processor, for a boost in processor and memory speeds. New next-generation graphics deliver performance levels that are up to 60 percent faster than before. And high-speed Thunderbolt I/O lets you transfer data at rates up to 10 GBps. The MacBook Pro is a great computer that just got even greater.

Happy With It

I am a student on a limited budget so I did a lot of research before deciding to buy a Mac. I knew I wanted a Macbook but was not sure whether the Pro or Air would be better. I talked to representatives at my local Apple store several times to see what would be best for me. I knew that for me to spend so much money on a laptop, the laptop would have to be excellent. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with my purchase. I didn't give it 5 stars just because I could easily get a PC for half the price and the operating system has a few differences that I find annoying. But overall, I do recommend it.
I have a large iTunes library with music, videos, apps, and books and it all fit while my laptop still being fast. Because I am a student I store a lot of documents too and I have had no problems with the MacBook Pro being slow. I've had my MacBook Pro for about three weeks now and I definitely prefer it to a PC. Up until recently I have always bought PC's (both for my laptops and desktops) but I dislike the Windows 8 operating system and a lot of my friends recommended Mac's so I decided to look into it. Normally when I buy a computer I don't do a lot of research beforehand but with this computer I did months of research. I talked to friends, people at the Apple store, read many many reviews online, and looked at promotional information from Apple. I decided that as long as it ran as fast as my current PC desktop it would be worth it.
I did buy a bluetooth mouse though because I prefer an external mouse to the mousepad. I think the external mouse was a good buy for me but if I had to I could use the mousepad. It is definitely better than most I have found on a laptop. The major downside for me, other than price, for the MacBook is how different some aspects of the operating system is. My last laptop only had a battery life of 1-2 hours but this one has a much longer battery life. The MacBook Pro is a little heavy to lug around often but it runs really well. In the future I may buy the MacBook Air and see how it performs in comparison. I don't use my MacBook Pro for games very much so I can't say how it would run for games but for the type of person who mostly uses it for internet surfing and documents it is a great buy and a great machine.

What's great about it: Easy to set up, good battery, mouse is much better than on a PC, keys are comfortable
What's not so great: Hard to get used to a different operating system, a little pricey for a student

Absolutely Necessary for a College Student
on October 8, 2013

Microsoft Office for Mac is just as good as Microsoft Office for PC. Office is absolutely necessary for me as a college student. I couldn't do much of anything without it. I recently bought a Mac computer for the first time and knew I would need to buy Microsoft Office also so I did a lot of research on Office for Mac and it seemed like a good investment. The price was cheaper at Best Buy than if I had bought it at the Apple store, which was nice. The one major problem I ran into occurred just because I was not totally familiar with where to find things on a Mac computer. I have been buying PC computers for as long as I can remember but PC computers never seem to last more than 2-3 years and I wanted something that would last longer. The only major problems I had with Office for Mac is that (1) I could not find the "save as" button for a very long time (which was totally my fault) and (2) I had a problem finding the same formatting information that was necessary for my papers for school. Other than that I have had no problems. It isn't slow, doesn't crash, and is quite similar to the PC version of Office. I definitely recommend it but for a person that is not familiar with Mac computers expect that it will take a little while to get used to Office for Mac and you may end up searching for things that you knew exactly where they were in the PC version. But there is a great search button for help articles in Office. A cautionary tale, though, is that it doesn't always find what you are looking for. But overall, a great piece of software.
