Started off great. Installation was easy. Downloading app was easy. Transferred all my iTunes music over (took a couple hours). Slowly started transferring photo albums over. This morning transferred around 8000 pictures from my iPhoto library (computer memory is full). Took a couple hours then deleted photos from computer. Uploaded 300 photos from phone to My Cloud using phone application. Overall around 11k photos have been transferred. I go on to check the latest bunch of downloads and it was paused/super slow. Cancelled it just incase it was a video and was taking too long. Tried to transfer again and photo album on My Cloud showed the "thinking" spinning circle. I refreshed the app on the computer after a few minutes of waiting. Now? Photo album (with ALL photos) gone. Just gone. No shared photo album to speak of on computer or phone app. I'm holding back tears of losing so many photos for no reason. It was there one second and gone the next. I didn't delete the folder (if I did it would have taken a LOT longer to delete all those pictures). They didn't get moved over to another "music" folder because again it would show or take a long time to transfer. It is just gone. This isn't my first external. I've always used portable ones but wanted to try "The Cloud." This whole cloud thing was my first time trying it and I'm going back to externals that I can plug INTO a computer rather than rely on uploading pictures.

I just saw WD's response and truly thankful that they have reached out and want to help. At this point though I am ready to return My Cloud and exchange it for a portable hard drive. I am not against WD products just not a huge fan of the "Cloud" technology. My previous portable hard drives have always been WD.
It has been almost a week and I took a break from technology since I was under the impression I lost every picture and video. Today, I decided to take a leap of faith and play around on my computer hoping I could find the photos and I am so happy to say I have found them. All of them. So not is all lost as I originally thought. But as I go on to My Cloud and go into my "music" folder, I see all the music folders, but no music files. When I go on my iPhone though, I see the files and can play them individually. Can not save them to my phone (I think it's just Apple that doesn't allow it). Luckily I did not delete the music from my computer.
So overall, thank you WD for trying to reach out to me. I'm just going to stick to your portable drives. Cloud is just not for me.
