Truly Impressed with these Headphones!

Let me start out by saying that I'm a fan of Sony's sound quality. I've had Sony on-ear headphones before and although there were issues with them, the sound quality was superb. I went in to Best Buy looking for something really comfortable and full of features.
The boxing of these headphones is a little weak. For a retail price of $199.99, I'd expect these headphones to come in a nice sturdy box with some "gifts" like a case inside. Unfortunately, the box is flimsy and the inside contains the cables, the headphones, and some papers.
The Appearance:
These headphones are good looking. It's a simplistic design but that goes a long way nowadays. The cans are actually quality large, both in width and circumference. My head isn't very large and the width of these headphones does look a little funny (I think so, at least), but the design is appealing so it's okay with me. The band is all metal and gives it that premium look. Nothing on these headphones is reflective or "shiny" which is good because I found it very hard to get them dirty with fingerprints.
Features:
The main reason I bought these headphones was for it's incredible performance on bluetooth. The bluetooth is very easy to connect and took about 2 seconds to pair with my Mac and iPhone. I haven't tested the NFC, but I would assume it's equally as easy. The bluetooth is useful for me because I HATE wires and I need to be able to answer calls while working on the computer. The microphone that's built-in works very well and people have said that I sounded very clear on their end.
The left ear cup contains the micro-usb charging port, 3.5mm input, mic, bass boost button, and power button. The right ear cup has the rev/play/pause/forward slider, and the volume up and down rocker. The play slider can also be pressed down to answer or hang up calls.
The bass boost button makes a noticeable difference in the low-end sound. It boosts the bass by A LOT. The bass sounds really strong and sharp but it's too strong for most occasions. I only use it if there's something wrong with my media file and the bass is very muted. Having it on during any music genre is just too much. This isn't a bad thing though, I like having the option of instantly increasing the bass if needed. That being said, the bass WITHOUT the bass boost is amazing. It's still very strong and well balanced with the mid's and high's. (As a side note, all of these comments are being made while listening on bluetooth).
The battery life seems to be on spot with the 20 hours that are advertised, if not better. I used them for about 8 hours yesterday and I'm still above 50% (my iPhone shows the bluetooth device battery in the notification bar).
The comfort is truly a selling point in these headphones. I would buy them just for their comfort even if they didn't sound stellar. I have medium-sized ears and the leather (maybe pleather?) ear cups encompass my entire ear. The cushions are VERY soft and the headphones are light which is incredible considering the amount of technology in them. I couldn't wear my previous on ear headphone for more than 45 minutes but I wore these Sony headphones for 3 hours without taking them off yesterday and I had no ear pain, no head pain, and no headache!
Sound Quality:
The bluetooth sound quality sounds nearly identical to the sound quality when wired. It's incredible what Sony has been able to accomplish here. I typically stream in "high quality" on Spotify and I've really enjoyed listening to my music. Obviously, these are not studio monitor headphones and I didn't want headphones for that purpose. These are very high end, consumer level headphones. Don't mistake them for studio monitors or the like. The famous Audio Technica ATH-M50x are in this price range and may reproduce sound more accurately than these Sony headphones, but are they wireless? Can you answer calls with them? Can you increase bass with a touch of a button? These features outweigh the absolute reproduction of sound for me. If the headphones sound good and have these features, then I'm happy and Sony delivers.
When you plug these headphones in with the 3.5mm cable (which feels a little cheap but is functional), the sound quality improves but very slightly. It's indiscernible if you're listening to music through Spotify. The main thing I noticed was that high's sounded clearer and sharper with the cable than on bluetooth but it wasn't a drastic leap.
Conclusion:
These are a must buy whether they're on sale for $160 or at their retail price. They're well made, comfortable, full of features, and most importantly, sound fantastic. I'm very glad I spent this amount of money on a pair of quality headphones.

Impressive Product!

After switching to a Macbook Air as my primary desktop machine, I wanted something that mimicked my workflow when on the go. I paired this trackpad with an Apple Wireless Keyboard for a seamless desktop experience.
This trackpad is aesthetically pleasing. It lines up flush with the Apple Wireless Keyboard. Both of these products have strong rubber grips on the bottom which prevent them from sliding around on the table. The trackpad is made of mostly aluminum and glass aside from the plastic back underneath the glass. This durability delivers a very satisfying "click" when pressing down. One of the best aspects about the trackpad is the size. This thing is huge! You can easily rest all five fingers on the glass. This is a benefit because it allows the use of all sorts of pinch and twist gestures. I found myself using more and more gestures which is fantastic because I use the same gestures when I'm on the go and using the Macbook's trackpad.
My main gripe with this trackpad is the ergonomics. It's not exactly Apple's fault, it may just be the nature of using a trackpad. I'm used to a comfortable desktop experience using an ergonomic mouse. A trackpad doesn't exactly allow for that experience because you have to hold up your fingers in a curved position and constantly be aware of what you're doing unlike a mouse where your hand and fingers simply rest on the buttons. Because of the position that my fingers hold on the trackpad (combined with the tilt of the trackpad) makes my wrist slightly uncomfortable. It's become better with use but I'm still adjusting after 2 weeks.
Using a trackpad as a primary pointing device on a Mac changes the workflow. Although you have all the added benefits of gestures, your clicking speed slows down dramatically. For example, if you have to click on a lot of individual cells in Excel or select a lot of photos in iPhotos, it will take you significantly longer to do that then using a mouse. I'm okay with that but someone who does that professionally, may want to have a mouse on the side for that.
The battery life is satisfactory (during use). The standby battery life is subpar. I'm not sure how it measures battery life but after 2 weeks, without turning the trackpad off, I'm down to 87% and it seems to be staying there. 87% after 2 weeks isn't great but if I can get at least 6 months out of it, I'd be happy. I'm sure you can get a lot more if you turn it off at the end of the day.
I've described some of the issues that you may or may not run into when using this trackpad. It all depends on your preferences and uses. For me, it fits my working style and I value using Apple gestures more than ergonomics and quickness of clicking. Some may not, requiring another investment in a mouse. Other than that, this product is a fantastic addition to the Apple experience. I highly recommend it.

Pleasant Experience!

I purchased this keyboard after deciding to use my Macbook Air as a desktop. Previously, I had typed on a mechanical keyboard connected to my windows machine but that became obsolete with the Mac because I wanted all of the Mac specific keys. That being said, I knew that a membrane keyboard would have a hard type matching up with the feel of a mechanical keyboard. Surprisingly, however, I am quite pleased with how this wireless keyboard types.
First of all, the build is incredibly solid and durable. It matches up with the priciest of keyboards. The aluminum does a good job supporting the board no matter how hard of a typist you are. Also, the keys don't rattle when you type which is a huge benefit making the typing significantly quieter. Connecting to the Macbook was a breeze. Just turn on the keyboard, go in the bluetooth setting of the Mac and choose the keyboard. It will prompt you to type in a few random letters and number after which your keyboard is set up!
The key travel is actually quite nice for such a slim keyboard. The travel is slightly greater than the keyboard on my 11" Macbook Air. Thankfully, the keys have a matte finish to them which makes them feel great while typing and will keep them clean longer.
My biggest problem with this keyboard is the unadjustable angle at which it's at. I usually like my keyboard to be flat if they're chicklet keys such as this keyboard. It allows for a more comfortable wrist angle. This tilt of this keyboard isn't huge but it's titled enough that I can feel it in my wrists when I type. I'm still trying to get used to the angle but that's why I gave this keyboard 4 out of 5 stars. Other than that, the quality and appearance deserves 5 stars on its own.

Fantastic value with great performance!

Build or modify your own PC:Yes
Level of Expertise:Average
Primary reason for building/modifying PC:Gaming
When deciding upon a graphics card upgrade, I had done my research and narrowed down my choices to the new AMD R9 270x or a GTX 760. Both are similar in price range (although the 760 usually being a bit more expensive) and both have similar performance.
I decided to take the plunge and get the cheaper R9 270x. My entire system is built on AMD and I figured, why not get an AMD card to match? Well, I'm sure glad I did. Specifications, in this case, are misleading. The R9 270x looks to be weaker in all areas when compared to the 760s. That is not the case! This card is a beast! Right after installation, with no overclocking, it run BF4 on ultra between 50-60 FPS, no problem! It makes the game really enjoyable to play. It does just as well with most other games as well. If you're concerned about performance, don't be. This card has plenty of it and you won't be disappointed.
The only strange thing is the fan controller. While playing BF4, the card fans randomly die down and then kick in (really loudly) during play. I would rather have a mildly loud constant fan sounds rather than having a really (really) loud fan kick in for 10 seconds and then disappear and do the same thing every 30 seconds. I know I can manually adjust the fan to be constant through the Catalyst controller but, I think AMD needs to tweak their stock settings a bit to fix that out of the box.
Other than that, this card typically runs pretty cool! Get it while it's on sale!

Fantastic addition to the Lenovo 11s

First of all, for $39.99, this cover is too expensive. Thankfully, BestBuy price matches to Amazon (is sold and shipping by Amazon) and it was $29.99 on there. For $29.99, it makes the cost a little easier to swallow although the benefits are still marginal.
The reason that I rated this sleeve 5 stars was because of it's functionality. This sleeve is designed to protect from scratches, not drops. It's not padded in any way and the back of the laptop is always exposed. That's not a problem for me as I just want to protect the top and bottom from what even surface I place my laptop on. The interior is a soft microfiber like material which does a great job gripping on to the laptop when sliding it in.
The best part of the sleeve is that you can use it while the laptop is in stand, tent, or laptop mode. That was my biggest concern was that what if I wanted to used stand mode outside, on a dirty table? I'd either have to carry around napkins or towel (or anything else) so that I could protect the keyboard from debris on dirty surfaces. This case does that for me while looking stylish and easily fitting the laptop. Lenovo did a really good job with the fit and finish that I'd say it's an essential accessory for the 11s. For $30, it's worth it.

Great ultrabook!
on April 26, 2014
Posted by: ilya2193
from Seattle, WA
I bought this Lenovo 11s as a secondary computer to use along side my powerful desktop. I wanted something compact yet powerful to carry around everywhere I go. This ultrabook suits my needs.
Lets start of with the build. This laptop feels incredibly solid. Originally, I thought the top and bottom were made of some sort of metal but it's actually a soft touch plastic. This is not a bad thing by any means. Lenovo has managed to make it incredibly durable and grippy. This ultrabook feels like it could take a fall or two without breaking (although I suggest not trying this!#. Unfortunately, the soft touch cover does pick up fingerprints quite easily. The silver color does a pretty good job at covering it up though. If you do a pretty good job at keeping your hands oil free, then you won't notice any finger prints at all.
The material for the palm rest is amazing. It's also a soft touch plastic but it's lined making it look like a matte brushed aluminum. It feels great under the palms and makes typing quite a pleasure. The keyboard is a big plus in my opinion. But, I think its purely preference. I love the keyboard because it has a sturdy, yet light, touch. It has just the right amount of travel while remaining very quiet. I would say the same about the trackpad. I've used Windows 8 since launch and the trackpad features don't interfere with my experience at all. It has a nice feel and makes a solid, quiet click when pressed down. Well done, Lenovo!
The screen is something that I was unsure about while buying this laptop. I had an 11" Chromebook for a while with the same resolution as this 11s and the screen was terribly. Fortunately, that is not the case with the Lenovo 11s. In fact, the screen is amazing! The colors are great, the brightness is satisfactory, and the sharpness is spot on. I think this resolution with this size of display works quite well together especially when it's an IPS panel. Don't be put off by the low "standard" resolution. The screen is fantastic. I don't use the touch functions all too often but I can tell you that it works perfectly well as you'd expect. No issues there.
Now the performance and battery life were the two most important aspects when I was choosing a new laptop. The 4th gen core i5 with the 128gb SSD were attractive to me. This laptop must have Lenovo's boot optimization because it boots in about 5 seconds. I'm not sure how they managed to do that but it boots from cold faster than some laptops wake from sleep. It's amazing! The core i5 performs well but I wouldn't say it's anything special. The computer doesn't stutter or lag. Programs open quickly #primarily due to the SSD# and web pages load almost instantly. That's what was important to me as this is my secondary machine. Any sort of photo editing, gaming, video editing, or programming is done on my desktop. I think that if you wanted to do any of the above, you'd need to upgrade the RAM to 8gb, which is quite easy to do on this laptop. With all of the Lenovo pre-installed apps deactivated and having 1 IE tab open, the ram sits at 37%. Not bad, but not spectacular either. I think you'd run out of memory quickly doing any kind of video or photo editing.
The battery life was surprisingly great for my needs. I spend most on my time in PDF reader and OneNote open side by side. With programs like that, the battery life can be over 8 hours. Doing some casual web browsing and word processing, you'll be around 7 hours. This is all on the balanced battery setting. The power saver setting slows the computer down quite a bit making it unusable for my personal preference #you'll just have to wait a bit longer for things to load up#.
Overall, this is a solid purchase. For $799.99, this ultrabook is expensive, especially as a second computer for my needs but I think it provides a pleasurable experience with a lot of flexibility.

What was Otterbox thinking?

This is by far the oddest and worst case I've tried for my iPhone 5S. The case looks very pleasing in photos but that's not the case when you get it in your hands. First of all, the case has sharp edges and is very slippery. So slippery, that it doesn't grip to any surface. Next, the design is simply poor. The bottom of the silicone skin only has a thin piece of rubber going across the bottom of the screen. Ideally, the hard plastic shell is supposed to hold that piece in place but it doesn't... it just moves around every time you take your phone in and out of your pocket. The silicone skin also makes it really difficult to hit the power and volume buttons. I'm usually okay with this but not to the extent that this Otterbox does.
Overall, this is an awful case for the iPhone.

Don't settle for anything other than this case!

If you're looking for an iPhone 5/5s case, don't settle for anything other than this Apple made product. This case provides ample protection for the average user. The case itself is very rigid and fits the phone very tightly. There is absolutely no wasted space which makes the phone feel very slick and slim even with a case on. There is slight lip on the case which allows you to put the phone face down on a table. The lip, however, does not go over the screen like most other cases do. This means that there is a slight gap between the edge of the screen and the case. I put this as a con for protection reasons, but I haven't really noticed any dirt or debris falling into the gap.
The black case looks fantastic on the black iPhone 5s. It feels really good in the hand, just like holding a nice wallet. The leather does not pick up fingerprints or oils easily which is a big plus in my book. The buttons are very easy to press and this case makes the button presses silent instead of having a loud click each time. I definitely recommend this case for the average user. However, if you're the kind of person that has an intensive job or like going on wilderness adventure or the like, I would recommend a slightly more protective case as this will get dirty from such activities and won't provide enough protection for your phone.

Fundamental problems ruin the Galaxy S4.

I have been an android user for the past 6 years and this phone made me switch to the iPhone. The build of this phone is okay at best. The plastic creaks, the hyperglaze on the plastic easily picks up fingerprints and scuffs, and the bezel around the outside chips with the slightest of touches. Some people love it while some hate it. I was neutral about it so I decided to get this phone. The main part of this phone that I enjoyed was the screen. This AMOLED 1080p can get very bright and very crisp. Lets just say that it is a pleasure to watch or read something on this screen.
Unfortunately, that's about where my good experiences end. I think that touchwiz ruins this phone. The software doesn't lag, only if you remember to always clear your recent apps. If you keep them open, over a short amount of time, you'll notice lag develop. The recent update to Android 4.3 also ruined the battery life. For no apparent reason, even if you have all of your apps closed, the phone just drains the battery. The battery stats show the drain coming from Android OS. It's incredibly frustrating because I uninstalled everything I could and disabled every "gimmicky" feature that comes with this phone. The android OS platform has lost my faith and hopes for a brighter future. Every update adds great features while creating new bugs that only take away from the experience.
I'm done wasting hours customizing my phone. I'm done trying to contact support to figure out when the next update is due. I'm done trying to find quality apps on the Play Store. I'm done tinkering with setting to find optimal performance. I've moved on to an optimized phone OS known as iOS and I haven't looked back.

Found out what I was missing!

To be perfectly honest, I didn't know if I'd be able to use the iPhone. After being an android user for the past 6 years, I was so accustomed to android that I thought I would be sacrificing usability by switching to iOS. Well let me tell you, folks, after an hour with the iPhone 5S, I have completely forgotten about android and their fragmented line up. The iPhone 5S is everything that a smartphone should be and then some.
The hardware on the iPhone is simply stunning. The metal is beautifully crafted and feels solid. Unfortunately, it's so beautiful and uses such high quality materials that I feel guilty carrying the phone around without a case. I immediately put on a screen protector and a Spigen neo hybrid case (not a sponsor). What's great about the iPhone is that even with a case, the phone is compact and easy to handle. It's still significantly smaller with a case than any android phone out there. The screen quality is absolutely fantastic. Don't listen to those that make the resolution argument. I found that resolution is not everything. In fact, the colors, saturation, and viewing angles of the iPhone make the screen far superior to the Galaxy S4 (the phone I'm replacing). In fact, just about everything, in terms of hardware, is better on the 5S than the Galaxy S4. The call quality is superior, the data connection is better, the camera is faster and has less blur, the speakers are clearer, connection to wifi and bluetooth is faster. The battery life is incredible. The last time I charged it, I pulled it off at 60% before going to bed. After 5 hours of sleep, I wake up and it's still at 60%. Wow. My Galaxy S4 would have dropped at least 10% in those 5 hours. iOS is truly an optimized phone experience.
The reason I decided to jump from the android ship was because I became tired of waiting for an optimized phone OS. Currently, I'd say that there is no android phone (aside from the Moto X) that has a pleasant user experience out of the box. Now before anyone starts arguing and complaining, let me explain why I believe this to be true. Lets say you get a Galaxy S4, the first thing most people do is disable bloatware (already a waste of time), then download their most used apps, and then start wasting hours upon hours customizing their home screens. In my opinion, smartphones should not be about customizing home screens. Apps are what truly make or break an experience and I think that iOS app quality is uncontested when compared to android. Sure android is more customizable, but do you really want to spend time rearranging icons, looking for widgets, etc, or would you rather be using your phone for what it was designed to do such as access the web, read news, watch videos, use apps, and so forth. Android does all of this as well, but not nearly as efficiently as the iPhone does. Apps are faster, smoother, and more optimized on iOS than on android. Also, for a student such as myself, iOS offers far more quality educational apps than android which is a big plus in my book. Lastly, I'd like to say that although iPhone home screens are not customizable, the settings menu has far more tweaks and adjustments than any android phone out of the box.
Another great aspect of the iPhone is the syncing capabilities with iTunes. I haven't had too much time to play around with it but for the time I did, it's very intuitive and a much easier way to explore apps and content than the Play Store.
I'd definitely recommend getting an this new iPhone. Whether you're coming from and iPhone or have been an android user since the start as I have, now has never been a better time to switch to the iPhone.

Is this Chromebook compatible with PDF docs?

I am looking to use it for business, would like to know if its compatible with PDF?

Mainly because I will be needing to download, edit and print PDF forms from the Secretary of State.
Opening PDFs is not a problem. Editing is just about impossible since you can't download Adobe. Printing is not a problem if you have a cloud capable printer.

Is the Acer spreadsheet & word document capable?

Yes. You can open Word documents and spreadsheets in Google docs and Google sheets. If you'd prefer the Microsoft interface, you can upload them to Microsoft Skydrive and use their Word and Excel web app.
