Basic home office multi-input receiver
on January 30, 2014

I needed a basic stereo receiver for my office so I purchased this receiver. It run inputs from a laptop, a desktop, AM/FM, and portable devices, along with 3 unused inputs. FM reception is good for local stations, but you can't scan distant stations - no direct FM tuning. Lousy design in my opinion.
My Best Buy number: 202671466
What's great about it: Multiple inputs, customizable display
What's not so great: Dated style, very poor fm tuning - can't enter a direct frequency or search the entire band.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Bookshelf Speakers for Office

Picked up a pair of T-15's this afternoon, to replace an old pair of Bose 21 bookshelf speakers. The Polk sound is far superior - much sharper highs and clean bass. Am running these off a Mac desktop through a Heathkit AR-29 stereo receiver that I built 40 years ago. The Heathkit analog amps, along with clean digital signal from a Mac is outstanding. Highly recommended as highly accurate monitor speakers for video or sound editing, or just plain musical enjoyment. Steely Dan's "FM" just came on. Really clean with solid but not overpowering bass.
What's great about it: Clean, accurate sound
I would recommend this to a friend!

Decent but time consuming to set up

This is a good universal remote. The internet connection wizard works okay, but it takes about 2 hours (I'm an experienced tech) to get everything right. Keep in mind you can't customize the order of the custom screens. If you want that feature, you'll have to move up to a higher, more expensive model. All in all, once it is set up, it works very well. I really like the auto on display feature that lights up when you touch the remote.
What's great about it: Wide variety of models/manufacturers supported
What's not so great: Setup time and can't customize order of options
I would recommend this to a friend!
