Would be great if all the parts worked

Thought is was a great deal online. Usually when you buy refurbished items, they work just as good as new, but we did not find out until after the shortened warranty period was up that the S-Video input was not functioning. Now we can't use it for the reason we purchased it. Should have spent a little more and gotten one that works. My recommendation to anyone who buys refurbished is to test EVERYTHING on it to make sure it works before your short little warranty period is up.
Other than that, it has been fairly easy to use. It is a bit confusing on how to finalize the disc for someone who is not familiar with using a DVD recorder.
What's great about it: Great price
What's not so great: Not everything worked
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

what is the difference between intel and amd athlone

AMD Athlon XP is comparable to Intel Pentium 4 line. On the lower end and cheaper is the AMD Duron comparable to the Intel Celeron. If you are using your computer for gaming, definitely go for the higher end processor. If you don't use your computer for much, you'd be fine with the lower end.

is acer computers a good brand and wher do dey stand compared to hp n asus what do they rank which is best to worst
I'm not a professional in the computer industry, but I have used several types of computers. I believe that HP is on the lower end of computer quality. Compaq/HP has not worked so good for me. Acer is pretty good, and usually more inexpensive. I was told once by a computer repair guy that the cheaper Dells tend to run hot (they don't bother to put the right fan to cool it down according to the specs) and they'll start having problems after a couple years. Higher priced Dells (made for businesses) are usually fine. My personal favorite is a sony- excellent quality, but they are more expensive. We used one at home for 7 years before we replaced it (with another sony laptop) due to needing more memory. Honestly, you'll probably have the least amount of problems with a Mac- expensive though. Very important to look at the memory and processor specs before purchasing any computer. Google is a great resource too!

you recommended epson printing for printing up to 12x12 sheets. Which one?

I need a wireless printer, scanner. Would love to have one that prints 12x12 sheets for scrapbooking.
When it comes to inkjet printers, in my opinion, Epson is the best! I've had an Epson for about 5 years and it's still going strong. Great print and scan quality! And does not break down, like in my experiences with HP. Epsons are made to be used, so if yours will sit for a few weeks without printing at all, you may have to perform more maintenance tasks than you otherwise would. Canons are OK, they do tend to saturate the page a bit more with the ink- and the canon I've used has wireless capabilities, but takes a long time to wind up for printing. As far as what to buy, make sure you look at the specs of each printer you are considering and make a choice based on that!
