Build or modify your own PC:Yes
Level of Expertise:Expert
Primary reason for building/modifying PC:Hobbiest
I bought this power supply to replace one that died on my HP Desktop PC. The dimensions were the same and it was a perfect fit. The main power plug fits both older 20 pin ATX type connectors, as well as the newer 24 pin type on the motherboard (20 pin + 4 pin). It comes with a 4 pin ATX 12v power cable, 4 SATA device power cables, 3 of the older AT device power cables, a floppy drive power cable, PCI Express 6 pin power cable. The cables are fairly long, and are enclosed by sleeves. This unit is quiet, with a very large fan located at the bottom of the unit to provide efficient cooling. At 400 watts, it provides ample power for my needs. The instore price was about $13.00 higher than the online price of $49.99, but I just asked for the online price, and they complied. All in all, this is a great deal for the money!
What's great about it: Flexibility, quiet operation
What's not so great: Nothing comes to mind.
I would recommend this to a friend!

OK considering price and purpose

The local Bestbuy didn't have a display model up to look at or listen to, so I just went by the reviews I read on this site and bought it anyway. Setup is very easy...plug in one cable to the subwoofer, one to your sound card, and the power cable, and you're ready to go. The overall sound from this system is pretty decent for a $63 PC speaker system. It's not going to beat the Boses and Klipsches that are out there, but I just wanted a set that would give me decent sound for listening to the occasional mp3 or for watching online videos, and these speakers are more than adequate for that purpose. The subwoofer sounds a little boomy when turned all the way up, and I had to turn the treble down a bit to keep it from sounding too tinny. One thing I noticed was that the satellites have what look like tweeters installed above the midrange speakers, but upon closer inspection, they appear to be non functional, decorative inserts instead. Hah! I wish they had just left them off, as they seem a little tacky. Overall, though, they still sound good enough to meet my needs, and if I want better sound, I'll plug in my Ultimate Ears or listen to my home theater.
What's great about it: Good value, decent sound, easy setup w/few cables
What's not so great: Subwoofer is a little boomy.
I would recommend this to a friend!
