Great price, extends Sonos system, but ...

Best price for what you get for any Sonos component. Quality? Well, this is Sonos so I'd say great! My 2 issues with Sonos are 1) conflicts intermittently with wireless N networks, and 2) slightly overpriced, although you get what you pay for. For this component, Sonos has eliminated issue #2 as the price is extremely reasonable. For a 5 star rating though, I'd expect a premium wireless audio system to be compatible with the current standard for wireless networks, expecially since Sonos is marketed to be network ready.
What's great about it: overall quality, wireless, extends range
What's not so great: conflicts with wireless N networks
I would recommend this to a friend!

This ARRIS SURFboard cable modem uses DOCSIS 3.0 technology to ensure speed that lets you surf the Web and download videos, music and images with ease. The integrated wireless network (802.11n) is backward compatible with 802.11b/g access points

My router died so I bought this all-in-one Modem-Gateway unit to replace both the router and the modem I was renting from the cable company. IF you use WPS security, IF you have a small area for the wireless to broadcast, and IF this unit will be in a cool location, then this might be the right hardware for you. It is easy to set up as long as you use WPS security, but it does seem to run warm. Also, my across-the-street neighbors' network broadcasts stronger than this router. finally, I have an old computer with a WEP-security wireless card that I have to maintain on my network. This unit wouldn't allow me to run WEP on the network unless I turned off Wireless N (bummer, since I paid extra for that). Also, I couldn't even run WEP on the same network - I had to set up a separate guest network to run WEP. The main network ran WSP security and was really easy to set up, while the second network was more difficult although the same hardware ran both networks. Too bad that i can't access the network printer from both networks though. If you are running all the current security, etc, then this might work but if you need to run anything out of date then you should pick something else. This becomes a nightmare trying to make it backwards compatible.
What's great about it: WPS is easy setup
What's not so great: backwards compatibility is poor, misleading package sounds like it is variable wireless speed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
