The story of building the first Canadian cross country railroad shown in true 4k and HDR. Using the HDR feature, or not, is a setup option. Given its limited length, it doesn't go into great detail but it covers a lot of ground. The phtography and senery are first rate. If you like history and/or steam engines then you'll enjoy this movie.

Great TV - Best Picture

We use this TV as a monitor: that is we don't use the built in sound or apps. We did test out the built in Chromecast and it worked just as well as the same feature on our AVR. We use the NETGEAR Powerline AV500 Nano Ethernet Adapters to provide wired ethernet to our TV so we have plently of network speed if we need it.
As a monitor, the picture is the best.. Only a great OLED can compare, but such a thing in 75" is beyond affordable. While pricey, we got our 940E at $1k off and are really pleased with the results. 1080i and 720p are upscaled to 2160p flawlessly. Motion is rendered great too.
We play with the 'color' settings and are very happy to report that the setup changes for this are easy to find and understand. You can tweak the results while viewing the left 2/3's of the picture full sized. Our result is the best picture we've seen. Would do it again.

Happy to beback with Pioneer Elite

Like a lot of people today, we needed to upgrade our AV Receiver to handle 4k and HDR. Over a year ago we got an Onkyo HT-R693 that came with one HDMI input that could handle 4k. Trouble is we found out later that it couldn’t handle HDR. It did not work with 4k discs played in our Samsung UBD-K8500 4k player. We had to wire our 4k Blu-ray player direct to the TV with separate digital audio going to the AVR. We finally had enough of that gimmicky setup and found this nice Pioneer Elite VSX-LX301 AVR on sale at our local Best Buy Magnolia store.
We’ve had Pioneer Elites before (a 92TX and 1122k come to mind) and liked their sound. This LX301 continues the quality tradition. Set-up is easy. I’m using this 7.2 receiver configued for a Dolby Atmos 5.2.2 system and it sounds great. The built in menu system is great too – easy to use and understand.
The best feature is that the AVR works nice with our new Panasonic DMP-UB900 4k Blu-ray player. You can set the receiver to do no video processing at all. This allows our excellent 4k TV to handle any upscaling, which it does very well.
Our biggest complaint is that of the six rear HDMI inputs, the remote control only has buttons to directly choose three of them. You have to use left-right arrows to get to scroll to the rest. However, this is a feature of every AVR we looked at with this number of HDMI inputs. Now if you download the Pioneer remote control app for your smart phone (and have your phone and AVR on the same home Wifi network) then you can easily choose any input you wish on the phone’s screen. Works very quick and easy.
Overall we are very happy with this receiver and would buy it again.

We've been using Epson printers and ink for years. Other vendors put way too much sw on your PC when all you really need are some printer and scanner drivers. So I use the Epson ink to insure I don't have printer problems. And I don't.

Excellent Picture

We got this to replace the Samsung 4k player and are very pleased withits operation. Easy to setup and use with a great picture. Some have said it starts and plays discs faster, but that is not the case for us. Blu-rays still take time to load and this player throws up little event boxes every couple of seconds while its doing so. Once it starts the operation is quiet and flawless.
