I another brand flash drive with Lightning connector prior to this device, and the primary complaint I had was it would disconnect or easily come off if touched even gently. This device is built to stay in place if at all possible. It takes significant effort to get the drive out of the port, which is helpful. My only wish (not feasible) would be if it did not require an app to use in IOS.

how many gb does it take to stream a movie
That depends on size of movie file, length of video, and also type of mobile file (MPG, AVI, etc). Average 720p-1080p 1-2 hour movies range 300MB-1.5GB on tablets.

How to output the sound when connecting chromcast to a monitor without built-in speaker?
I am trying to chromcast the content from laptop to my 27inch monitor, and the computer monitor doesn't have built-in speaker. I am not able to make the sound work. Is there any workaround?

Either direct from output source which isn't possible since Chromecast is that or through surround sound. Either way the device you have monitor plugged into has to have either an audio output (could be to another device like computer or RCA outputs, etc).
