Quick easy set up. Pages load in the blink of an eye. My mom isn’t a gamer so only uses it for email, reading web pages, playing a little video poker (free site) and checking in on facebook now and then.
Not sure what the speakers are capable of because she has the laptop hooked up like a tower and uses a chordless keyboard and mouse. Picture with the Visio smart tv and sound are spot on.
Got rid of her last older laptop because it kept losing the WiFi connection. This one never has any issues with that.
Have heard about people not being happy with the battery, but she always has it plugged in at her desk so no problems there.
So far, she’s loving her new computer.

great for switching

I use a TV ears wireless speaker but also have a Sony headset for when I don't want to disturb anybody late at night. This little gem lets me switch between the two by unplugging the speaker and then plugging in the headset.. Too many TV's don't have enough hookups to have everything plugged in at once so this takes care of that issue.
Optical cable goes from the TV to this splitter and then your wireless base gets plugged in for the audio out. Perfect

There are no downsides of Insignia TV's. This is the 5th Insignia TV I have gotten in the past few years, ranging from 24" to 55" and they all have crystal clear pictures. Some programs with a lot of very dark or black scenes can get a little blocky, but then so did my Visio that cost more than twice as much as these.
I can't say how well the picture would be for gaming because we don't do that, but for watching TV programs, Netflix, movies on DVD, they all work flawlessly. I haven't been able to justify spending more on another brand name set because the Insignias work so well.
The sound aspect is average and for this set, TV ears are used. This was a major consideration because I got this set for my 88 year old mother that's very hard of hearing and no matter what tv she has, she needs the ears. Not all brands have the hookup for this, so that was another major consideration for getting this brand.
If you're looking for a good smart tv and don't want to break the bank, this brand is for you.

needed something to help me hear better when I was watching in bed.. My TV would go loud enough, but I had trouble hearing and understanding the words. Setting this up on my headboard was the perfect solution. It also immediately connected to my Insignia TV and DirecTv remote so once I set it up, never really needed to use the remote that came with it. Doesn't take up much space so works for me.

Everything Apple is perfect and flawless.. even though i loved this tablet, my eyesight isn't what it used to be and my arthritic hands had trouble holding it.. not because it was too heavy, because it was so light!
I ended up taking it back for the 9.7 version, putting it in a Flavormates case and it became my MAC.

When I took it out of the box I thought "what the heck?" Looked like a thick piece of cardboard that I figured I'd be taking back very soon. I was very wrong.
Works really well with my little outside TV. pulls in more than a dozen channels including all the majors. WHO KNEW? Not sure how well it would work in the middle of nowhere because you do have to be within "earshot" of the signal towers, but for my patio and using it town, it works great. Easy set up for it to scan and pull in everything it can pull in.

Wanted a small TV for my patio table because I like sitting outside when the weather is nice. Needed something small but bigger than my tablets. Fits the bill perfectly. Wanted a smart TV so I could watch Netflix and it works perfectly. Bought a small antenna so I could pull in local channels without having to get an extra Directv mini box.. works great!
Picture quality is outstanding on HD channels and Netflix.. actually pretty good with the regular channels from the antenna. Only downside are the speakers.. located on the bottom of the set, facing down. Why oh why do they put speakers there?? Knocked off one star due to this. Bought a small Insignia sound bar for it that hooks up via digital and it's now awesome.
All things being equal, Insignia can hold its own against the other major brands at a much cheaper price.

only get 5 stations in st.peters missouri that are comet stations???what am I doing wrong? led tv is a samsung 46D6000?
antennas will only pull in stations that are being broadcast with towers. In Phoenix, Az we have towers on South Mountain that send out signals for about a dozen local channels. You also need to let the antenna 'run through' its setup so it can find any stations that are available. This is why I don't think it would work for camping in the middle of nowhere.. need the broadcasting signals.
You also might want to try letting it run through its setup again to make sure that's all that's available in your area.

Hi, I use close caption on my dish network to plug into a curse Free box that plugs into my tv. Do you know if that would work with this TV guardian that I have? Is there a place to plug this unit into the antenna?
