This is great TV for the price. Picture is sharp, colors are amazing. Great for watching TV (we have OTA and the picture looks amazing), playing games or using any of the Smart features like YouTube, Netflix, etc. I have two other Vizio TVs and love the quality of their products. Definitely recommend.

I have not had any issues with mine counting steps while I've been driving.

Does this have silent smart alarms?

If I misunderstood your question I apologize in advance, but the Gear Fit 2 does not have a speaker so all notifications are done with vibration.

Does this device allow you to view other notification besides text messages like emails, phone calls and calendar notifications?

Yes it does. And what's great is that you can even Answer (you still need to talk on your phone) or Reject Calls, Read and Quick Reply to Text Messages and Read Emails. It is actually a bit more functional than just showing you notifications which I love.
