Bought this to stream over the air tv through my network to Roku, WD Live and Samsung TV. Connected it with cat5e to my network switch. It would disappear from network frequently. The tuner ability to pull in channels was not equal to the TV tuners I have used on the same antenna setup. I returned the unit and got a HDHomerun which has better reception and doesn't need constant resetting.

I bought this when it was the deal of the day. I wanted a USB drive and this was the right size at the right price. I have several WD NAS drives and have been very happy with them and never had an issue with software from WD. With this WD easystore, the supplied WD backup software was a REAL pain to install. It requires WD Discovery software, which I have of course as part of my NAS setup but this stuff installed a second Discovery software setup. That resulted in a constant error message to be displayed. Took long time to figure out what was causing that. WD Backup is just OK when it works. Doesn't wake system from sleep which I wished it would. I DO like that it doesn't shrink the files or store them in one big file. That way I can find them easily on the drive with a file manager. Other than the software, the drive works great to store my files.

Roku does great what Western Digital started doing well. This device streams virtually any video file I have on my network and offers an tremendous number of channels from across the world. The interface is easy to use, and the voice command may be useful but I haven't used it because I don't have that many pay type channels that I subscribe to. I have several Roku devices and the added voice command button on the ultra remote is where the select button is on my other models. Takes a little bit of getting used to. Overall, a reliable easy to use product. The aquarium screensaver is nice too!

I have started using USB flash drives to backup documents on my two desktops instead of burning a succession of DVDs. The storage capacity on these allow me to use just one drive for each of the document backups. The different colors (black/blue) make it easy to keep track of which drive goes with which desktop. I really simply wanted a "repeater" that would simply take my existing wireless signal and boost it. That way I wouldn't need to have devices switch networks when I moved from one area of the house to another. That is not what this does - it sets up two new networks. Thats OK, I guess, but sometimes I have to manually tell my phone, tablets etc to connect to the stronger, new, network and give up its connection to the original signal when I move from one area to another.
The real issue that drove me crazy was the fact that it would setup two networks and my Iphone and tablet would login to one of them but that one didn not, for whatever reason, provide internet access. Drove me nuts trying to elminate that second network after trying without much success to train my devices to ignore that second network because they would only see the one without internet access. Had to restore and redo and research for several hours. Finally got it to work and it does provide better connection in the far reaches of my house, but not very happy with the work I had to go through and hope I don't have to do it again.

Very easy setup and love the auto off feature. The sub is adequate for my living room setup and really does well with music. Sometimes I can hear a slight hum coming from the sub woofer during quiet parts of songs or dialog on movies/tv. The presets are very different from each other and does make a difference if watching a movie or listening to news shows.

Bought this for our "open floor plan" house in which the Samsung TV in the living room seemed to beam its sound over the wall into the kitchen. Had to turn up the volume to hear well in the living room which compounded the problem in the kitchen. Did a little research and found that some folks solved the problem by using a front firing sound bar.
I didn't want to spend a lot money and this Insignia model was within my budget and got fairly good reviews. So I bought this one and we are very satisfied. Beams the sound straight out into the living room. The remote works well and is easy to figure out. The bass output isn't great, but I didn't expect it to be either. The max volume doesn't exactly blow the windows out, but does the job.
A bonus is the bluetooth connection. It quickly connected to my iPhone and it is great to stream music to the sound bar.
A good product at a good price. Very satisfied.

Typical Samsung Great Picture. Sound Not So Much.

Bought this set (my 3rd Samsung) for living room in our new house. Happy with the picture quality and view-ability from various angles. There are a lot of features available which are nice: wireless connection to home network, Netflix, Crackle, Youtube easily available. Smart TV Interface is a little confusing and how you rearrange stuff seems difficult. However, it does remember what you used last and moves it to the front of the line. For the most part, all you see in the menu is the service's icon (and there are lots of them!) and when you highlight it there is no useful information to figure out what it is about.
I was very interested in streaming from network attached drives and it does that easily. However, I can't figure out how to pause, rewind or fast forward when playing those videos. That is very disappointing because I thought I could eliminate my WD media player and just use the TV.
The sound seems pointed down and in our open floor plan house with wood floors we can hear the TV better in our kitchen than in the living room. So I bought a cheap sound bar with front firing speakers and fed the sound out of the TV with an optical cable. A nice feature of the TV is that when you connect external speakers using the optical output, it does NOT disable the internal TV speakers. That means a family member can just turn on the TV without powering up the sound bar and still use the TV speakers.
Overall, very happy with the TV.
