Perfect When You Don't Have The Enhanced Remote

The newer and higher end Roku models now come with an enhanced remote that gives you the ability to toggle the TV's power and control the volume. The Sideclick actually gives you some more capabilities in that it has extra buttons that you can easily program to control other features of your TV and even your entertainment system. It's attaches nicely though it clearly is not as elegant as the Roku Enhanced Remote.

The Roku Ultra has the features that count. My Nvidia Shield TV and Fire TV are excellent devices as well but the Roku's remote and compatibility put them to shame. For example, if you have HBO via Xfinity, only the Roku will allow you to use the HBO Go app. It is probably because Roku doesn't try to compete with the provider like other devices do.

The quality of the video is OK but not as clear as I had hoped. Part of the problem is that it only shoots at 15 frames per second. It also is slow to trigger meaning you will see the tail end of most activity.

The camera on the Ring Video Doorbell Pro is what the others should have. It is noticeably better. The downside is that it can only be used with the 24V power that you "might" already have. Note that if you want to install a second one of these you will need another power source as one, standard transformer does not provide enough power.

The Fire TV is a good device with a powerful processor and the best Playstation Vue interface. However, it can be frustrating to access the channels you've added as you have to either search for the channel or thumb through them all - one by one. The Roku allows you to arrange your channels in whatever order you choose. The Roku has the most channel options - including Vudu (a channel not available on the Fire TV). Still, if you intend to use the Playstation Vue service you'll be much happier with the Fire TV.

Do I need to,attach this to my TV to receive streaming tv and movies. And how do I choose stations, or movies? Can I pause a movie and come back to it later or tomorrow?

If I use the camera inside my garage, can turn it off when I am home to save the battery, and only turn it on when I leave town? Can the stick ups be hardwired?
You really would not want to turn it off an on as it defeats the purpose of a security cam and is simply a hassle. The battery lasts a very long time and you can supply power to them 24/7 without issue. However, there is no Ethernet port so it will transfer data via WiFi.
