Contrast ratio - is the difference between light and dark colors. 20000:1 means that tvs brightest white is 20000 times brighter than the Tv's darkest black. Greater contrast ratio, the better shades of color basically.
Hz - this is the refresh rate of the tv. 60hz is what you are used to with television. Basically this means the screen refreshes your picture 60 times per second. The higher the refresh rate, the more clear your picture will be with objects in motion.
Pixels - refers to the the tiny bits of information that create the digital image. In a nut shell, the more pixels, or ppi/dpi a tv has, the better the pixel quality, and the better chance that tv has of recreating the original image.
Plasma - is a type of display which uses gases and electrical energy to heat those gases to creat light, which in turn creates your picture.
