Experience true digital fiber-optic surround sound audio connections with this cable that is designed to connect both standard and high-definition components by sending digital surround sound audio signals through Toslink digital audio (S/PDIF) jacks.
I purchased this cable as part of my home entertainment system to link my television to the receiver. It uses the optical audio connections to do so. The cable works fine right out of the box. The only thing I noticed was that there are protectors on the actual fiber optic ends. The only reason I noticed it was that the connectors would not fit in their appropriate slots. It was at this point I noticed a small plastic cover on the end of the connector. Once I took that cover off the actual connection was made. As far as sound quality since its digital optical there's no loss of signal or detectable distortion. Overall I'm satisfied this cable did the job and does not seem flimsy or cheaply made
Enjoy room-filling sound with this Sony Core Series SSCS3 floorstanding speaker, which features dual 5" woofers, a 3/4" super tweeter and a 1" tweeter to precisely reproduce instruments and vocals in robust detail.

I bought these as my now ancient Radio Shack speakers finally died. My Onkyo surround Amp is.100 watts x 7 channels so I needed more powerful speakers. I tested the Klipsch ,Pioneer ,and Sonys. The pioneers were ok but not much in the high range, and lacked presence and overall bass, whereas the Klipsch sets were best sounding overall but more expensive. The Sonys were a good choice for my budget, and actually sound much better at home on my systen than in store. The highs are still not as crisp and pronounced as the Klipsch but is much better than the Pioneers. Midrange is very prominent on the Sonys. For audio playback the highs are better with the EQ settings boosted . But when watching surround sound videos its too "bright". That being said, I was stunned at the bass quality with NO SUBWOOFER. No you dont get that chest thumping bass punch, but its almost like having a subwoofer on low when watching movies. As for bass when listening to music from CD not.mp3....there is noticeable lack of that punch, even at 70% volume setting. By then its just loud and the midrange dominates. Overall Im very happy with the sound and build quality. Still want a subwoofer eventually but these speakers make the wait easier.
