Works, but doesn’t last long enough

I don’t use my printer much, so my opinion is that I don’t get near the number of pages claimed. I’ve tried to lengthen the life of these cartridges by taking them out and giving them a bit of a shake once in a while. No idea whether it’s worth doing. Pretty expensive ink, but the off brands don’t last long either.
