Drive capacity is great (1TB), speed good, comes with initial A/V package, battery time certainly acceptable. Just plug n play to get started. Setup takes minutes, not hours like others.

what accessories do I have to buy to make this work?
The only requirement for this device to work in a wifi connection. Setup itself will require temporary access via a laptop or other smart device (such as a smart phone or tablet) that has wifi ability. After setup is completed, the only requirement the Dot/Echo/Tap requires is a wifi connection.

Do I have to have a smart phone, or a tablet to set this up? Or, can I set this up from a laptop?
I have connected all three devices (Echo, Dot, and the Tap) at multiple locations in different households and in different parts of town. I have used both my smart phone and laptop. Never a problem. Amazon has the installation process of these devices down pat. Easy-peezie.

can the dot connect to bose radio to use its speakers?
The DOT has 3.5mm jack that allows for an external speaker(s) to be connected for a better listening experience. If your Bose unit allows for an external input, then yes you can connect the DOT to your Bose unit.
I have actually connected a soundbar, via the 3.5mm jack that I mentioned above, for a better sound. It works just fine.
It should be noted though that the sound quality that the DOT projects without any external speakers is very good on its own. No real need for any external speakers. They just make a good sound (device) even better.

How do you charge it or do you have to replace the battery?
You don't charge it, you change it.
Simply slide the bottom cover off and replace the battery. Once yearly does it for me. Not a big deal at all.

Does this computer have a built in DVD and CD drive? If it does, how do I open it?
This laptop does have a DVD/CD drive = DVD±RW/CD-RW.
Two ways of opening the drive.
A) Right click on the drive, in My Computer, and choose 'Eject'.
B) Depress and release the 'open' button on the drive drawer.
