The Pinnacle of Wifi Routers

The new Orbi 970 series WIFI Mesh router and satellite sets allow the fastest WIFI speeds available. These units are hefty weighing 3.6lb each They come in white or black and are very stylish. I have the white with brushed metal trim in the 3 pack configuration. The Main router serves as the base it has a 10ghz wan port, 10 Gbps backhaul port and four 2.5 Gbps ports. You can aggregate the 10 gbps wan and the 10 gbps ethernet to allow the router to provide maximum thruput from your ISP. This allows you to use your super high-speed WiFi or even wired connections. WiFi 7 is blazingly fast 2.4x faster than WiFi 6. If you want the fastest speeds, you can run hardwire backhaul between the main router and the satellites. The new antenna design gives better coverage with Negear. The WiFi uses 6ghz, 5ghz and 2.4ghz bands to achieve the best coverage and speeds wherever you are in your home or business. The Wifi is backwards compatible with older devices.
The setup is easy with the new Android App (also available for IOS), I did have a glitch adding the satellites after the firmware updated it would not reconnect to the base but restarting the app the install proceeded as normal using the password, I set up initially to reconnect. After the setup was complete including the year of free Netgear Armor by Bitdefender monitoring the Orbi network has worked flawlessly. Your Armor subscription includes installs of Bitdefender on your devices if you choose to use It to protect you even when you use other networks. I use this in a business environment with many computers and wireless devices connecting including streaming TV all running at full Wifi speed. Netgear claims you can connect 200 devices to these routers. You can set up 3 networks, your main WiFi, guest WiFi and IOT network. The default settings will work fine for most environments but there are extensive advanced options if you need specific settings. The options available are extensive and very well documented in the user manuals.
The New Netgear Orbi 970 are the pinnacle of Wifi routers in my opinion they provide all the speed you need for any application, gaming and 8k and beyond streaming. These routers are futureproofed with 10 gbps ports with the port aggregation feature and 2.5 gbps ports for highspeed wired connections. If you want the best this is worth the investment.

The Technics EAH-A800 are great new headphones that combine style, comfort, and outstanding sound quality all in a 10.5oz package. As an audio enthusiast, I had high expectations for these headphones, and they were simply exceptional.
The first thing that caught my attention when I unboxed the EAH-A800 was their beautiful clean modern look. The brushed metal accents and smoothly rotating well padded ear cups are some of the premium features that stand out. The build quality is exceptional, with sturdy yet lightweight construction. The band and ear cup swivels look and feel extremely durable and capable of withstanding daily use. The conservative Technics branding is welcome. Technics includes a beautiful hard case that holds the headphones and accessories A USB A to USB C charging cable, a mini 3.5mm RCA input cable and an airline dual mini 3.5mm RCA adapter.
The PEEK/Polyurethane ear cushions are soft with just the right amount of firmness to provide an excellent seal without exerting too much pressure on the head or ears. The headband is adjustable and well-padded providing a secure and comfortable fit for different head sizes. I found that I could wear these headphones for hours without any discomfort.
The EAH-A800 delivers on sound, the Technics reputation for Audio shines through here. The 3-Layer Diaphragm 40mm driver dynamic drivers faithfully reproduce audio, allowing you to pick up subtle nuances in your music or movies. The bass is deep and impactful without overpowering the midrange and highs. The profile is adjustable in the Technics audio connect app. The Audio is 96 kHz/24 bit LDAC when connected by Bluetooth. These headphones have exceedingly well-balanced expansive sound, making these headphones great with all types of music.

Whether you're in a noisy office or on an airplane, the ANC on these headphones is quite impressive and makes a noticeable difference in sound quality when enabled. You can adjust the ANC level in the app. There is initial setup then manual adjustment is possible. There are 8 mics to help with wind noise reduction, superior call quality is provided by 4 Mic Beamforming and Noise Suppression Technology to clearly convey your voice to the listener. The electronics in the headphones combine Dual Hybrid feedforward & feedback noise canceling with analog & digital processing for immersive listening. You have two modes that let ambient sound in Transparent mode comprehensively captures voices and other surrounding sounds and Attention mode that reduces unwanted external noise to make it easier to hear people’s voices. You can also turn off ANC. The Technics audio connect app lets you set the touch control to switch between ANC and your selected ambient sound mode.
These headphones support Bluetooth 5.2, ensuring a stable and fast connection to your devices. With Multipoint connectivity you can connect to 2 devices at the same time. This headphone has Alexa Built in so you can select music, adjust the volume, and make phone calls, with your voice. The battery life is respectable, offering 40(LDAC, NC on) to 60 (ACC, NC off) hours of playback time on a single charge. It takes 3 hours for a full charge and 10 min for a “quick charge”. The inclusion of a USB-C port for charging is great. Now I can use my smartphone charger to charge it. The headphones will auto power off after a period of silence you set in the app or can be set to stay on which is the default. I recommend turning on the auto power off during the headphone setup.

I recently acquired the JBL Authentics 500 Smart Speaker and I am excited to give you my opinion, in a word it is outstanding!
This speaker looks and sounds fantastic. The new smart speaker from JBL sports 270 watts of 3.1 channel sound in a cool retro design the front grill and JBL logo reminds me of the old JBL’s my father had with his old stereo system. The gold aluminum frame and the faux leather covering the main body complete the retro look. The controls are slightly recessed on the top keeping the design very clean. The voice assistant status indicator is on the top and functions just like the native assistant device indicators. The rear has the porting for the down firing bass speaker and the connectors for ethernet, USB for MP3 playback, power and a 3.5mm Aux jack for external audio input. The Voice assistant microphone on/off switch is also included on top of the rear panel. The base has rubber feet to keep the box in place and prevent vibration.
Where the JBL Authentics 500 truly shines is in its audio performance. The system has three 25mm tweeters and three 2.75inch midrange speakers and a 6.25-inch woofer, The JBL team has done and incredible job with this compact speaker and the sound is amazing for it’s size. The bass is punchy, midrange is crisp, and the highs are clear and detailed. I could hear no distortion at any sound level. The down firing ported subwoofer can really push out the bass. They have included an auto calibration that takes place every time you turn on the speaker and it will adjust to any room you move it to provide the best sound. The speaker even has Dolby Atomos support. You can include this speaker in your speaker groups or group multiple JBL speakers for multiroom listening.
The speaker connects by Bluetooth for streaming from other devices and had WIFI connectivity for streaming and automatic firmware updates. iPhone users can use airplay to stream directly to the speaker.
The JBL Authentics 500 smart speaker supports voice commands via popular virtual assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Since it supports both I can control my cameras with google home, my lights with Alexa, stream from various apps from whichever service I desire. You use the JBL one app to set up the speaker and connect it to your Alexa or Google home account. I did have a little confusion about podcasts on Spotify, you have to install the skill but it will not work until you set Spotify as the default podcast provider in the Alexa app then you just say “Alexa play podcast (your podcast name) “ and it will stream from Spotify. JBL has done a fantastic job getting the smart assistants to play nice together on one box.
The JBL one app is simple and straight forward. I had no difficulty connecting to the speaker, connecting my WIFI or connecting to my smart assistant accounts. I am able to stream music from all of the services I use with my native devices, control my lights, thermostats, and TV.
JBL has delivered the ultimate smart speaker in one cool retro box. The sound from this is out of this world, this is the best sounding smart speaker I have ever owned! In my opinion it is well worth the price. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a premium smart speaker.

I feel like the cooking time on the Neapolitan is too short for smoke but the other styles with longer cooking times it will work well.
The included pizza stone is easy to clean, making post-pizza cleanup a breeze. This feature ensures that you can enjoy your delicious homemade pizzas without worrying about a messy aftermath. I can attest to this as the first pizza I attempted a lot of the toppings and cheese cooked onto the stone, later during cleanup it came right off.
In summary, the pizza settings on the Ninja Woodfire 8-in-1 Outdoor Oven are a highlight of this versatile appliance. They enable you to create restaurant-quality wood-fired pizzas right in your outdoor space. A dedicated outdoor Pizza oven works a little better for larger pies and some can reach higher temps but cost much more and do not have any other functions. The Ninja Woodfire 8-in-1 Outdoor Oven is reasonably priced considering its versatility and performance. It provides excellent value for those who want an all-in-one outdoor cooking solution without investing in multiple specialized appliances.

Charge your electric vehicle (EV) on the go with this portable level 2 charger. Compatible with all plug-in EVs in the United States, except for Tesla, which requires a SAE J1772 adapter. It's compact size and 17-foot charging cable allows for flexible installation and usability. All you need is a 220 Volt or 240 Volt NEMA14-50 outlet to plug the charger into.

Reliable, Compact and Efficient: Rexing J1772 32A

I recently received the Rexing J1772 32 Amp EV Charger for review.
I was looking for another electric vehicle charger for my house. I already had the 240 volt Nema 14-50 wall outlet I used with my portable charger that came with my vehicle.
The charger comes in a great looking zippered carrying case. The small rectangular charger fits neatly in it making it an ideal portable charger. All the charger functions can be set from a single button on the charger. No app is needed or provided. 6 parameters are displayed on the front panel, device temp,charging current,charging voltage,Kwh charger,current settings and charging speed
The charger has a large LED bar that lights up with colors Blue during standby or setting up, Green blinking during charging and solid when it is finished and Red if there is a charging fault.
This charger automatically started at 32 amps. It has lower settings (16 and 26 amps) if your EV needs lower settings. The settings menu can be accessed by holding the setting button for 3 seconds. The other settings are for timed charging and disabling ground protection .
The charger can be mounted on a wall but there is only a single mounting hole at the top. You could perhaps add additional support with a ½ pipe clamp of appropriate diameter on the bottom around the plastic surrounding the charging cable if you are permanently mounting it for more support. I wish Rexing sold a cradle that you could mount that included a hanger for the charging cable so you could easily remove the charger when you wanted to take it with you or leave it mounted. The single hole mount is ok but not ideal for permanent mounting. With that all said it is clear Rexing positions this as a primarily portable charger to be taken out of its storage bag and used when needed.
The Rexing J1772 charger is sturdy and has solid construction. Its compact and minimalist design blends well with my garage setup, and the materials used appear to be of high quality. The charging cable is 17 feet long enough to reach my car comfortably, making it convenient to park and charge without any hassle.
The 32 Amp charging capacity of this unit ensures that my electric vehicle charges fairly quickly. It's a notable improvement over slower chargers, cutting down my charging time significantly.

I wish Rexing sold a cradle that you could mount that included a hanger for the charging cable so you could easily remove the charger when you wanted to take it with you or leave it mounted. The single hole mount is ok but not ideal for permanent mounting. With that all said it is clear Rexing positions this as a primarily portable charger to be taken out of its storage bag and used when needed.
The Rexing J1772 charger is sturdy and has solid construction. Its compact and minimalist design blends well with my garage setup, and the materials used appear to be of high quality. The charging cable is 17 feet long enough to reach my car comfortably, making it convenient to park and charge without any hassle.
The 32 Amp charging capacity of this unit ensures that my electric vehicle charges fairly quickly. It's a notable improvement over slower chargers, cutting down my charging time significantly.

Bose new compact Atmos Soundbar

The Bose ultra Smart soundbar is the new king of the hill compact soundbar from Bose. This soundbar replaces the Smart 900 soundbar as their top 5:1 Atmos soundbar. The soundbar is piano gloss black with a forward facing metal grill that hides the front firing speakers and metal grills that cover the two up firing atmos speakers. The bar includes Dolby Atmos decoding for sources recorded with Dolby Atmos, faithfully reproducing the spatial sound. For non Atmos content Bose Truespace technology is used to upscale and create spatial separation to make your listening pleasure that much greater. The sound produced by the sound bar while watching movies and listening to music is fantastic. Bose has really nailed the Truespace tuning. If I found great separation in viewing my movies encoded with Dolby Atmos as well as non atmos titles. The AI dialogue mode intelligently boosts speech during noisy segments, making it easier to hear what the actors are saying.
The sound bar was easy to set up. You first have to download the smartphone app from either the Apple app store or Google Play store. Bose provides a QR code that you can scan that will bring you to the proper page. After I figured out I had to put the sound bar in pairing mode which consisted of pressing the mute and the music buttons on the remote until the light on the soundbar glows amber began t

I chose the Smart 600 soundbar from the list as the Ultra is not listed yet (Bose presumably will add it at release time) It detected the new sound bar properly, listing it as the Bose Ultra Smart soundbar. The sound bar has two separate areas for connectivity. First includes HDMI( ARC) input, optical input, and ethernet and a USB C service port. The soundbar supports Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth®, Apple AirPlay2, Chromecast built-in , works with Google Home with Assistant capabilities and Amazon Alexa built-in for voice control It is also Roku ready and supports Spotify as well.
If you want to achieve great sound with a painless setup This sound bar is a great choice. Bose has taken all that is good in the Smart 900 series and improved it!

I received a Dell 17720-7135WHT-PUS. The new top of the line All in one from Dell. This model has 16gb of memory and a 10 core Intel i7 1335u with integrated Intel iris graphics and discrete Nvidia MX550 graphics with 2gb DDR6 memory. The system memory is 2 sticks of 8GB SK-Hynix DDR4 3200 for a totaL OF 16GB. The i7 1335u can run up to 5ghz at full boost. The boot up is fast due to the 1tb SSD. This computer has the chops to take most tasks with ease.
Dell has outfitted this computer with a 1920 x 1080 (FHD) 10 point multi touch panel. I found the display bright and color reproduction excellent. Text readability is very good with sharp character edges. Dell has also implemented "Comfort view plus" that limits blue light to ease eye strain.
The i7 and 16gb power through even the most resource intensive multitasking applications even with graphics. Some gaming is possible at FHD with the built in monitor. If you want to watch or edit 4k material you will need to use an external 4k monitor. For media consumption you can handle any streaming source. You can even use the computer display as a monitor using the HDMI in port with the computer powered off. Dell cleverly hid the camera and mic in a pop up module on the top bezel of the computer. This allows you to mechanically block the camera until you pop it up. The camera is Windows Hello compatible if you want to use face unlock.
On the rear there are 4 USB ports, one HDMI in, one HDMI out port, one 1gb/s Ethernet port, an audio out port, a SD card slot and a power in port. There is one USB C 3.2 port on the right side. The USB C port is able to supply power as well. A convenient place if you need to charge your phone or earbuds.

The monitor has thin borders with the all white motif. This computer looks great. The monitor supports attach to the rear of the monitor near the bottom offering great stability. The monitor also can be tilted and has no drift. There is no VESA mount available.
For business or school this All in one is well built. Support from Dell and their built in update, support and optimization tools allow even the most novice computer user to keep the system humming. I do recommend running the dell assist tool to update all the drivers and firmware at first boot up. Windows update will also update most of these but not always all of them.
This is a great all in one, I highly recommend it

Get your Alien on! Gaming with Alienware M16

The new Alienware M16r1 is a new midrange gaming computer from Dell. I received a unit for review configured with the intel i7 13700HX, Nvidia 4070 laptop GPU and 16gb of ram and a 1tb ssd. This configuration is about the middle of the performance for the options that dell offers. Well let me tell you the Alienware division has done their homework. This laptop not only looks good but performs great.
The updated case with its Dark metallic moon, anodized aluminum lid and bottom and RGB look and feel great. The keyboard deck with its rubberized textured coating feels good when resting your palms against it. The keyboard itself even with the base scissor RBG keys that my build has performed great. The keys are silent and have excellent travel and actuation pressure. The backlit RGB keys look fantastic. The keyboard itself remains cool when gaming. The laptop is on the heavy side for this size, it is slightly longer than most, it feels more sturdy than the previous model with no flex. The rubber foot keeps the laptop put and allows better airflow to the bottom intake. The Ports are arranged on the back of the laptop and on the left side: Back 1HDM I, 1 Mini display port, USB3.2, 2 Thunderbolt 4, SD card. Left side USB3.2, audio jack ethernet .
Alienware has improved the cooling in this build using its Cryotech element31 thermal interface material and 30% better airflow than the previous model. The air intake is from the bottom and the front of the keyboard deck with hot air vented through the sides and back. They have used a quad fan design with 7 heatpipes and dual vapor chambers one for the cpu and gpu.
The new command center allows you to control the RGB lighting and the power settings for the CPU/GPU. The settings for the CPU and GPU are tied to each setting. I would have liked to be able to have these separate so I could under volt the CPU and Overclock the GPU to get better thermals, hopefully this will come in an update. Until then you will have to use third party tools to achieve that. There is a game library with auto tune ability that will list each game you load and allow you to configure the performance, RGB and keyboard keybinds for each game.
The RGB zones consist of the keyboard, the alien head on the top lid and the stadium circle around the rear ports. This is just enough to be tasteful without overkill.
The graphics is supplied by the intel integrated Igpu or the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU with 8GB of GDDR6 is a powerhouse. The display I have was the 165hz QHD+/480hz FHD+ version. It is awesome with excellent color reproduction and brightness. This display is all that is necessary for most gaming Alienware sells a 240hz version but it probably not necessary except for extreme gaming at higher resolution.
The bottom of the case is easy to open giving access to the user expandable options. You can add an additional SSD to this laptop, It has two PCIe NVME ports, one came populated with a PC801 NVME Sk Hynix 1tb drive. The memory can be expanded up to 64gb ddr5-5200, you can use ddr5-5600 up to 32gb.
To summarize Alienware has put together a great midrange gaming laptop with high quality materials and great performance. The laptop looks and feels premium. The components are a good balance for performance while keeping the price out of the stratosphere. If you want more performance an Intel i9 version is available as well as graphics options up to an Nvidia RTX 4090. There is even an 18 inch version (M18). I find the M16 with the 4070 just the right balance for me.

It Also has Amazon Prime video. Hulu and Vudu are not available at this time you will have to use another streaming device for these. Sony will probably add additional apps soon.

YES! Sony uses a technology called the Veritcal sound engine to emulate the upwards oriented speakers in other atmos systems. This with their Digital sound enhancement engine allows you to hear the equivelent of 7.1.2 sound.

went in to best buy to buy the Bose sound bar 300 then i talked to a sony rep and showed me all the features on controlling each speaker separate which was very interesting to me on the sony 3.1 system up in the air not sure which one ?
All I can say is the sound from this system expecially with the optional SA-Z9R rear speakers is amazing. I highly reccomend this system.

You still use your DSL modem and connect the router to it. It will work just fine. Some of the provider supplied modems are actually a router and a modem together in one box. If you have one of those you will need to put it in bridge mode.

Have 2yr old Netgear Nighthawk ac1900/r7000 connected to a Spectrum/TW modem and about 350 days left of Norton Security Premium. As much as I like Core-safety sales pitch, is it really so good you'd trash my current router plus 11 month subscription?
It is faster and more secure, they will add the current subscription on the end of the 1 year free. You will need to call Norton and speak with a representative.
