Great look and reception

Mohu is not a company who you associate with pretty antennas, well that has changed. The Mohu Beam Premium Indoor/outdoor amplified antenna is a good looking antenna.
The whole antenna is contained in a thin plastic beam, this can be mounted indoors, in the attic or outdoors. The antenna even comes with a kickstand so you can put it on any flat surface. They advertise it as looking like a soundbar and it can be mounted to a wall under your TV. I wish they also had hardware to mount it to the tv mount so it could be mounted on an angled TV that stands away from the wall.
This antenna comes with a USB powered inline amplifier that can be plugged into your TV's USB port or the supplied plug in USB power block. The New FirstStage amplifier is located right next to the antenna, resulting in less pixelation and increased reception capability.
The performance of this Antenna is outstanding. I tried the original Mohu leaf and the glide and this antenna was able to get 10 additional channels because its position was not limited to the windows or doors. Even with the leaf antennas held in the same position I received a more stable picture. The better performance could be the new amplifier or the multi-directional design of the antenna.
The setup took 2 minutes with none of those sticky squares you need to use on the other antennas. If you choose to wall mount the antenna they include the bracket and hardware required. Two different length coaxial cables are included as well as a straight and 90 degree coaxial connector. They also include a kickstand if you want to put it on a flat surface.
If you need a good looking and excellent performing antenna. I highly recommend this antenna. The fact you can mount it in the attic or outside it a plus.

The Norton Core Router
Let face it the home of the future is the connected home! What could go wrong? Well Dana Scully and Fox Mulder shore found out on one of the latest episodes of the X files!Check out season 7 Episode 11 (Rm9sbG93ZXJz)
IOT (Internet of Things) devices are popping up everywhere, Washers and Dryers, ovens, fireplaces thermostats, refrigerators, Vacuums, security systems, baby monitors to name a few. All these devices can be hacked leaving up to the device manufacturer to come up with a firmware fix. There are sophisticated firewalls and malware/virus protection for these devices but they are difficult to implement and administer for a home user. Sure you can make a virtual network and a hardware firewall with state-full packet inspection on your network but for the average home user this is beyond their abilities and the cost can be high.
The Norton Core Router can secure your network and has a simple on boarding app contained within a smartphone app. The App is simple to use but is a little quirky. It is not always clear when to push the next button, if in doubt push it. After the router updates and registers you are brought to a control panel.

Even though this router looks great it still has all the ports you need. There are 4 gigabit Ethernet ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports along with a power port and button tucked away under the device. Norton even throws in a neat wire organizer to keep all the cords from tangling.

Beefy Hardware
This router has a dual core 1.7 GHz processor with 1GB RAM and $GB flash memory. The Antennas are a circular array beam-forming antenna. Unlike Omnidirectional antennas commonly found on home routers a beam-forming antenna can adjust to It’s environment. If there is a lot of use in one direction, the router will adjust the output to that area. This allows better signal where you need it. The Norton Core has 802.11ac wth MU-MIMO protocol allowing for up to 2,500 Mbps. It is really fast, I was surprised at the speed with my wireless devices, much faster than my other dual band wireless AC router a Netgear WRT3200ACM! It is dual band using 2.4 and 5 GHz. The router is backward compatible to N and G devices.
This router is packed with hardware security for your network including:
Security- DPI, IDS, IPS, Secure DNS, Encrypted user & data communication
Networking- WPA2, DHCP, NAT, UpnP and Automatic Device Discovery.
The Norton Core has network packet inspection and using their global threat database, Core can help stop threats cold. The Database is constantly updated to protect you from the latest threats.
Network Traffic Filtering:
The Norton Core router has easy to use setting via the smartphone app to keep your Kids protected from undesirable content. You can set up groups, associate devices to each person then select the types of sites you want them to be able to access. You will receive a notification if somebody tries to access something they shouldn’t.
You can also set bandwidth limits for each device if you have internet with bandwidth restrictions. It’s also handy if you’ve got one user who is a data hog!.. you know who you are!
You really do not need any other antivirus with the hardware antivirus in the Norton Core router which protects an unlimited number of your connected devices. You also get Software antivirus for up to 20 devices including computers and mobile devices.
Norton Core will also protect your connected devices like video doorbells, WiFi thermostats, smart locks, appliances, and home security cameras for suspicious activity. If a device becomes compromised, it quarantines the threat before it spreads
So a few possible negatives ( I actually think it is a great deal)
You have to buy a subscription after the included 1 year subscription runs out. The subscription will run you $9.99 a month. The company constantly keeps its security database updated for the latest threats. You actually get a great deal a hardware antivirus in the router for unlimited connected devices and software antivirus for 20 devices that works even when you are connected to other networks. Most people are not aware that most hardware firewalls have licenses that have to be renewed and good antivirus software for more than a few devices is much more expensive than this.
So who is this router for???
If you want a very easy way to secure your network and all of your devices without multiple pieces of hardware and software not to mention the tedious job of configuring everything so it works correctly then this is for you. If you want pinpoint control of every setting or need very specific settings then look else where.
If you have a large home or it is WiFi unfriendly you may have some dead spots, it may be possible to add a mesh router in bridge mode or and extender but I am not sure of the additional security risks in this configuration. Norton will probably design an extender for this system, putting additional devices that look like this would not be all that bad. This is something I would like to see developed.
I recommend this as an end to end security for your internet for the average home user. It is very easy to set up and has comprehensive monitoring tools that almost anyone can use.

Take the party anywhere with this Sony portable speaker. It's safe to use at the pool or beach thanks to an IP67 rating that allows total water immersion, and flashing lights add mood to the music. This Sony portable speaker's Extra Bass keeps things pumping, and the Live Sound feature provides three-dimensional audio.

The Sony XB41 is a Bluetooth and NFC enabled speaker with extended base and enhanced spacial sound. Sony has added a new DSP (Digital Signal Processor), angled speaker and Live sound mode for better 3 dimensional sound output. These speakers sound great ! The sony XB41 carries IP67 water resistance rating. Allowing the speaker to be used in environments they where they may be exposed to water, think pool, beach or on a boat. According to Sony the SRS-XB411 is rustproof even when exposed to salt water. The speaker is also dust proof making it great for camping or even the desert! The fabric covering looks great and is washable. There are 3 different colors available, white,red and black. The shape, size and weight makes them easy to carry to any party or gathering.
The sound and Base in these speakers is really out of control! While they are essentially the same speaker as their smaller brothers the SRS- SB21 and SRS SB31 the speaker (and driver) size are different (Sony SRS-XB21 employing a 42mm driver, the SRS-XB31 a 48mm driver and the SRS-XB41 a 58mm driver).
The SRS XB41 are capable of connecting with ‘Wireless Party Chain’ allowing up to 100 wireless speakers with Bluetooth, the music and lights sync-up so everyone dances to the same beat. This is compatible with Sony's other XB speakers with Bluetooth. This is a cool feature, I could get it to work seems like the feature in the android app has not been updated for these speakers and I got the speakers to manually pair by pressing the WPC button on the SBS41 then the WPC button on the SBS31. An additional SRS-SB41 party chain registered and all the the then everything works as expected. Sony will probably update the app and instructions for manually pairing the speakers soon. The feature is fun really expands the sound and could really wind up your party!
You can control the speaker from the the Sony Music Center app for android or iPhone. I had no problem installing it on my android smartphone or my wife's iPhone. You can select your favorite playlists, cue the next song and change lighting patterns and sound modes easily. You can stream from Pandora, google play or iTunes and many others. You can stream without the app also.
The XB4 1 speaker also comes with party lighting effects. They have line lights that glow in many colors and other lights that flash like a strobe. These can be set to frantic or calming patterns or turned off depending on the mood you are in. They built-in accelerometer which is used by their ‘Party Booster’ feature. It can detect tapping from different directions and generates a sound and lighting action. Tapping the speaker in different places makes different sounds like a scratch, snare, kick drum and cowbell. You can control the volume of the sound effect, gently for a soft or wack it for a loud. I had a lot of fun banging on the speaker while dancing!
The speaker has Stereo Mini Jack (IN), USB A Terminal (DC OUT only) maybe to use to connect to your phone as a battery?, micro USB (DC IN) for charging and wall power.
I have a lot of Bluetooth speakers, this is one of my favorites great sound without any worries about getting it wet or dirty!

The best Cleaning toothbrush I ever had!

The Phillips Sonicare 4100 toothbrush is an ultrasonic tooth cleaning device. This makes it more than an ordinary toothbrush.
The ultrasound vibrates the head to clean the surface and between the teeth including the gum line. You may have tried many other toothbrushes but none get your teeth this kind of clean except a professional cleaning at your dentist. I am not kidding, I have had several electric and manual brushes and none of them leave my teeth feeling like this.
The brush has a built in program guiding you through a 2 minute cycle, 30 seconds per side upper and lower. A pressure sensor that lets you know if you are brushing too hard by changing tone.
There is a built in program to increase the ultrasonic energy over the first few uses so you can get used to it if you have sensitive teeth otherwise you can bypass that by holding the power button on while it is on the charging stand and wait for the three tones hi, medium and low.
Since I started using this brush my teeth feel great, I don’t think I will ever try another brand. I plan on buying my wife one soon.

Best Portable DLP projector

The LG - PH30JG Minibeam DLP portable projector is fantastic for impromptu business presentations or family movie night at home or anywhere you have a projection screen or surface. The output is bright and has great color depth.
There are several inputs, HDMI, USB, USBC and Screen share with Miracast or WiDi. Note for newer android operating systems you will need a Chromecast for best performance. (there are apps in the app store that purport miracast functionality but I could not get any of them to work with this projector). I did not try but you may be able to power the Chomecast from the USB of the projector keeping it a portable solution.
The projector has 4 hours of battery life with a full charge. The bulb life is 30000 hours ie 8 hours a day for 10 years!
I tested this with my FireTv and a Chromecast dongle and my android tablet. Both tests gave great results with no lag at all. The projector has a built in speaker but for any serious viewing I recommend using the Bluetooth connection to a wireless speaker.
For any wired legacy equipment with composite output, VGA or even DVI you will need an adapter. You can also use a USB or USBC memory stick or even a HD (<500amps) and the my media player to view DivX®, MP3 or compatible Photo formats.
Strangely in the manual it lists the projector as supporting 1080p but recommends 720 p for best output.
The included remote is very good quality and allows easy access to all options.
If you want a small portable easy to set up projector for business or fun this is the one for you. It is ready to go in less than a minute and can be totally wireless if you have a compatible smart device or computer and a Bluetooth speaker for enhanced sound. This could be great for campsite or backyard or beach movies with the family.

Great portable amazon Alexa enabled!

This speaker is the little brother of the mega boom. It still packs a punch. The battery lasts about 8 hours making it a great portable speaker for the beach, camping or a picinic. the alexa integration is excellent the microphone seem to perform better than my echo dot understanding my commands, As for the sound this moderatletly sized speaker has a great range. If you ar realliny looking for deep base look at this companys Mega Boom line for all other music you will be well satisfied. The speaker comes in several colors to fit any taste.
This speaker can stream from the internet on its own or connect by bluetooth to any source.
Overall this is a great choice for a portable speaker.

Great Speaker and Clock with Google Assitiant

The Insignia Voice Smart Bluetooth speaker has Google Assistant. It is Best Buys own Google Home equivalent with a clock built in! The Speaker has great sound. The microphone can pick up my voice commands even in noisy environments.
The soft blue green digits are not too bright to be annoying but bright enough to see in any light.
The google assistant can be set up from the google home app on an android or IOS device. You can also add family members as guests so it recognizes their preferences when a voice command is given.
You can stream music to the device through Bluetooth or let it play natively from the source you set up in the google home app. You can play news and other podcasts as well.
If you want privacy you can mute the microphone from a button on the back of the device.
There are hard volume keys on the top as well as the voice commands to control the volume.
The wifi connected without difficulty and has maintained a stable connection.
I am very pleased with this well built Speaker.

Beautiful and functional

The Honeywell Smart Color internet connected thermostat is a well designed device with an astetically pleasing and very user friendly user interface. You can choose a variety of colors for the led display to Match your decor. Programming is a breeze. You need to first set up an account with Honeywell. The guided setup will walk you through creating a schedule for your home, you can also choose manual mode. You will also be asked what type of system you have, usually this is not a problem unless you have a split combo unit like me! Mine is a heating pump with a gas pack for heat..hmm what works for that? Forced air! If I choose heat pump heat comes on when the themostat says cool. After you have the right settings the themostat works flawlessly. You will either have to install the thermostat yourself or have a heating and air tech do it. The installation is very easy. There are also videos on YouTube. You need to have a power wire, the "C" wire if you don't you will have to use one of many solution for this. Honeywell has support to help.
This themostat is internet connected there is an Android and iPhone app as well as an Alexa skill for remote control of the device. Voice control with your Amazon Alexa enabled device is cool! (That was a themostat pun) The device also shows the current indoor and outdoor temp and humidity on the home screen. I really like this it is a vast upgrade from our manual themostat and I no longer have to change the temp on waking and leaving my home with the added plus of being able to set the temp if I am coming home early from my smart phone.
This themostat is internet connected there is an Android and iPhone app as well as an Alexa skill for remote control of the device. Voice control with your Amazon Alexa enabled device is cool! (That was a themostat pun) The device also shows the current indoor and outdoor temp and humidity on the home screen. The Epson EX 9210 is a Compact lightweight full featured professional business video projector. It has the brightness (3,400 lumens) nessesary to make a presentation in a lighted room. With it’s 3LCD DLP projection engine it produces vivid color in a 1080p+ WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200) format. It supports resizing output to 800 x 600 (SVGA), 1024 x 768 (XGA), 1152 x 864 (SXGA), 1280 x 800 (WXGA), 1280 x 960 (SXGA2), 1280 x 1024 (SXGA3), 1440 x 900 (WXGA+), 1400 x 1050 (SXGA+), 1600 x 900 (WXGA++), 1680 x 1050 (WSXGA+). This projector can produce up to a 300 inch image with 15,000:1 contrast and up to 1.07 billion colors. Inputs are Wireless, USB PC free, USB plug and play for audio and video (PC and Mac), HDMI, MHL, VGA, Composite video RCA and stereo audio RCA. There is a 2 W built in mono speaker or you can use Bluetooth (my preference) or wired speaker from your device. Bulb life is rated at 10,000 hours, and the replacement lamps are very inexpensive.
The projector comes with an Epson wireless dongle allowing you to send your presentation from an IOS, android or PC without wires. For mobile devices you can scan the QR code on the screen and it will set your wireless network properly for connection. I did have problems with my Google Fi phone connecting until I turned off the cellular data, after the connection was made I could turn it back on. My tablet and iphone connected without any problems. The presentation beamed wirelessly without any problems. Video will work wirelessly but at a very low bitrate. If you want high resolution 1080p video you are better off with the HDMI connection which worked flawlessly. The projector has manual correction for keystone and off center projection giving you a lot of flexibility in projector location while still achieving a great picture.
A great carrying case, full remote and HDMI, VGA and USB cable are included so you are good to go with any device.
I found this projector easy to carry and set up with it’s fabulous picture and brightness it is the best choice for professional presentations.

Does this replace the telephone co router
You will have to put the router in bridge mode and turn off wifi if it is also your modem if you have a seperate router then yes.

What are installation instructions & wiring requirements?
You have to have a "C" power wire. You essentially mark each wire connected to your old thermostat with little labels provided then push them into the terminals on the Honeywell themostat. It is a good idea to take a picture with your smart phone or camera. Some systems require a jumper this is described in the manual. If you get stuck you send pics of your current wiring to Honeywell support and then call them, they will walk you through a solution.

There is a way to point your your documenst, pictures , videos to any drive, windows will move the files there and future files will be saved there. While this can be done I do not reccomend it with removable USB flash drives ves permanently. You can temporarily move the file for update then maybe move them back. If you are low on space consider a hard-disk upgrade. ?? A good time to consider an SSD it will speed up most modern computers as well as extend operating time on battery.
