ElectronicJunkie's Reviews

The difference between hearing bass and feeling thunder starts the moment you add this wireless bass module to the SoundTouch 300 soundbar. QuietPort™ technology and a highly advanced DSP virtually eliminates distortion and delivers surprisingly deep and clean sound from something so small.

Must Have Add on!!!!

The Bose Acoustimass 300 is an add-on to the Soundtouch 300 sound bar. The Acoustimass is the easiest way to turn your room, or even house, into a theater in less than 10 minutes. Once out of the box, you just pair it with the sound bar and use the Adaptiq headset to adjust the system to the new bass.
The Acoustimass has 5 bass settings, and all sound great, I have found the middle setting perfect for most everything. At night when the kids go to sleep, I can turn it way down and when football is on, all the way up.
The bass hits low, real low, compared to the 3 other subs I have had. This is the loudest and deepest bass ever watching my test movies. Also, I found by placing the Acoustimass behind me, actually gives a higher effect of surround sound.
The looks of it is beautiful as well, the glass top and sleek black case is just perfect for any home. The size is also really compact, you can slip it anywhere with ease, and the wireless helps that even further.
If you bought the Soundtouch 300, you need this subwoofer. I hope to get the rear satellite speakers soon to have the entire setup.

The SoundTouch® 300 soundbar looks slim. But the sound? Anything but. That’s because every cubic inch of it is packed with technologies that make everything you listen to or watch sound clear and spacious. It starts inside with custom-shaped speakers that keep the profile low and pump out big sound. QuietPort™ technology virtually eliminates distortion so you hear surprisingly deep bass. And Bose® PhaseGuide® technology makes you believe you’re hearing sounds where there are no speakers. On the outside, the glass top and perforated wrap-around metal grille make the soundbar look as good in your room as it sounds. And with both Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi® technology built in, you can wirelessly stream music any way you prefer. ADAPTiQ® audio room calibration from Bose ensures the soundbar sounds the best it can in the space you put it. HDMI™ connectivity with 4K pass-through keeps your system compatible with the most current technology. NFC provides quick and easy pairing. The SoundTouch® app gives you simple control over your favorite music. Works together with other SoundTouch® speakers so as you go from room to room, your music goes along with you. Includes a universal remote so you can control your other devices, too. Available in Black

A new side to Bose!

The Bose Soundtouch 300 is an amazing sound bar once you get it setup correctly. Once I unboxed the sound bar from the well protecting box, I grabbed the quick start instructions and dug in. You can connect the speaker from your TV via an Optical cable or HDMI/ARC connection, I tested both.
The Optical cable sounded great, no real difference from the HDMI except for one thing, you need to have either programmed the Bose remote for the TV or the TV remote for the Bose. The Soundtouch is too new for any codes to work on the TV remote and the Bose remote worked fine with my brand TV. But, to go back and forth for control, I had to hit buttons for the designated device I wanted control of, this was not fun.
Next, I went to the HDMI/ARC setup, and how easy is this! If you have a TV with the HDMI/ARC available, skip the optical setup, there is no real reason to use it. The HDMI/ARC setup allows my TV to control the power cycle and the volume of the Soundtouch 300, no need for an extra remote. Setup was a breeze in the TV menu for this, I expect it to be easy for all brand TV.
Now that I have it hooked up, I can now use the supplied headset and tune the soundbar for my Living Room. Just plug it in and grab the remote, hit the keys and follow the instructions. The calibration takes 3 minutes and it does help, the voices were off a little to the mouth movements before I did the calibration, after, they are right on.
Movies and TV sound great, Bose did a great job and seem to have adjusted the old and tired BOSE sound to something new and exciting. The Highs are very clear, mids are excellent as always and for a soundbar, the bass is really good, fills the room with delightful booms from bombs. Movies in surround sound filled the room and made my wife look behind her multiple times, thinking something was behind her, got to love scary movies. I may have to get a hold of the rear speakers that go with the Soundtouch 300, just to see how much more the room can be filled, and how scared she can get.
Music was next and this is where I thought the Soundtouch 300 shines the most. I listened to almost every genre you could imagine and all sounded amazing except Hip Hop, the soundbar cannot hit lows that low. Music through the Bluetooth sounds great, minimal quality is lost and I noticed the range of the Bluetooth was very good, I could walk a good distance until is started breaking up.
The Bose Sound app from the Play Store is neat and useful. You can adjust some settings but also add music services, internet radio channels and playlists. This is going to be great during the holiday seasons.
All I can say is for people doubting the Soundtouch, and there are going to be many reviews, until you get it home and try it for yourself, in your house with it in your atmosphere, you cannot dismiss this as being a top choice.
I also added the Acoustimass 300 to pair up with the Soundtouch 300, if you want to see that review, please go to that product and read it, I am very happy with it.
