Not as good as the EX15...what happened?

Verified Purchase:Yes
I bought these to replace my Sony EX15AP that were on its last legs. I figured these would be nearly the same since it looks exactly the same. Turns out these were horrible...They only come with a silver (nickel) plug compared to the EX15's gold plated plug, the build quality seemed worse, the sound quality was obviously worse than by other Sonys, and the mic didn't even work. The sound alone made me instantly dislike them. They sounded harsh, with a weird boost in the high-mids as well as a completely thin sound. Vocals came off as sibilant and thin, there was absolutely no warmth or depth to the lower mids, the treble was decent, and the bass was fairly neutral compared to other consumer earbuds, but still slightly boosted. I did some A/B comparisons with the EX15, and it was obvious how much better the 15s were. On top of this, the mic didn't even work properly. The play/pause didn't work, nor did the microphone. It decided to randomly skip, fast forward, and pause songs whenever it felt like it. Stick with the EX15, they're better in every way and also cheaper than the EX14

Manage functions and communicate hands-free with these Sennheiser CX 2.00I BLACK earbud headphones, which feature a 3-button in-line remote with integrated microphone for use with select devices. Four ear adapter sizes help you achieve a custom fit.

Are these compatible with an iPod nano?

Yes. I tested them on my iPod Nano 3rd Gen and all the buttons work.
