I'll just get the negatives out of the way first... I'm just getting into 4K and this is my first 4K TV. After playing around with the picture options, 4K Blu-rays don't appear much better on this TV than a standard Blu-ray with the built-in processing does. Also, if you have any of the smooth/clear processing options enabled, anything on the screen that is sorta small and moving (think wide shots of superheros or vehicles) flickers in and out of existence which is really distracting. I'm not sure if this is a problem with more expensive TVs. Finally, there have been few niggles with the apps: Netflix seems to error more so on the TV than it does on our PS3 or phones, and the Amazon video app deactivates smooth/clear processing every time you close the app, but only for in-app viewing. If you want the processing back on the next time you open Amazon then you have to turn it back on in the TV's options. I spoke with a Samsung representative about this and they said it is the Amazon app, not the TV, that makes this change. Other than this, the TV performs well. I bought it for the extra pixels that 4K TVs have for watching 3D movies and it definitely looks TONS better than a 1080p 3D TV. I also bought this one because it's one of the few passive 3D TVs out there. The passive 3D works like a charm...no ghost images or such like you might get with an active system. Plus, 3D glasses from the IMAX work on this unit. The only issues here are if you get too close or too far to either side of the TV while watching 3D. The image gets distorted a bit. I think it's because the disparity between the two images (parralax?) is too great for your brain to seamlessly piece it together. You have to be pretty close or somewhat far to either side for this to happen though. Bottom line, the 4K image on this TV isn't what I was hoping for and definitely not as good as the images you see in the stores on the $3,000+ units but that's not why I bought it.

I bought this after upgrading my aged-out home entertainment stuff to 4K. I've owned two other Sony receivers over 17 years and they worked flawlessly...the only reason I parted with either was to upgrade. This one went two months without a problem when, out of the blue, it stopped letting a consistent signal from my PS3 pass through (no video or sound). After hours of troubleshooting I took it to Best Buy and they confirmed the issue. It was sent off for repairs but the repair facility could not duplicate the problem. They sent it back after a fresh factory data reset but when I got it back the problem remained. Sent it back a second time but, once again, the repair facility said they could not find anything wrong with it. I just don't understand what happened. I tried everything: factory reset of my TV, complete reformat of the PS3, different cable and bypass combinations, I even bought a new receiver of a different brand which I still have and is working beautifully. Everything pointed to an issue with this receiver but there was no obvious cause. I parted with the Sony and kept the other one.

I've only had them for a few weeks but I can honestly say that they stay put in my ears no matter how hard I train but at the expense of them becoming mildly uncomfortable after a couple of hours, and that is even with the smallest ear fittings in my large ears. Still tolerable. Also, the volume control doesn't work on my Note 3 but I knew full well it might not considering it says right there on the box that it was designed for use with Apple products. The multi-use button works just fine, it's sweat resistant, it looks and feels like it's made of quality materials, it definitely allows outside sounds in well without compromising sound quality, it comes with a cool storage pouch, and it's endorsed or approved by IRONMAN (or designed in conjunction with, I don't remember which).
