Sharp screen. Fast processor and boot up is quick. Battery life is more than enough for a day's work. Charges up quickly. Large screen but the computer is thin an lite.

Is this a good laptop for school?

Yes. I used mine to complete a course that I took for certification. Now I use it for my business. Quick start up and long battery life. Charge up time is short. I have had two Lenovo's and my first is through three of my daughter's first four years of college.

Would this laptop be good for a college student? Would it last a while? And specifically a college student going into computer science?

Yes. I bought a Lenovo for my daughter at the beginning of freshman year. She is a junior and has ZERO issues. I bought this Lenovo for its speed, size of screen and durability. Hard drive is solid state so no moving parts to bust. Go for it!! I love mine.
