I record videos for the church. A previous church camcorder stopped working properly. Therefore, I used my iPad mini for several months. I use it to take personal videos. It works good (and shoots in widescreen), but it is not as good as a camcorder. After seeing people with camcorders while out and about and watching reviews on YouTube, I decided to buy one for myself. The Canon Vixia Hf R700 is great for general use. It is so much easier to use than the iPad mini. The Vixia shoots much better videos in various light conditions. The adjustments are more than enough for my use. The Canon Vixia Hf R700 has audio in, av out, HDMI out, and easy access to the other necessities. Once you charge up the battery, it lasts quite a while. There are some things that I found out by doing. 1) If you are going to shoot a long video (say over 30 minutes), record in the "native" AVCHD format -not mp4. With mp4, your videos will be divided into about 30 minute segments which results in more than one created "file". That can be an annoyance when editing. 2) Watch your sound levels closely when recording in something other than fully automatic mode. Loud sounds can distort if loud enough. This is especially true when using an external mic - which I very highly recommend for best sound. Speaking of that, if the mic has adjustable sound level (or if you are getting sound from a soundboard or something of that nature) boost it up very carefully and turn the cameras internal level way down to reduce background hiss. Always keep the instructions handy. They are very helpful. The Canon Vixia Hf R700 has lots of features and adjustments. EXPERIMENT with it to see what works best for you.

I went with what I new. This Logitech M510 and some of the lower end Logitech models are about all we use at work these days. Not only is the price fair, but Logitech mice seem to take a beating. NOT Just For Car Audio

I wanted to replace a 12" driver in my home powered subwoofer. The original wasn't up to par anymore. The JBL CX1200 looked near perfect for sealed box duty judging by the specs. As it turns out, CX1200 is quite better than the original. By the way, unlike ported boxes, sealed boxes are not very "fussy" about driver to box matching. The subwoofer is working great.
I also decided to buy 2 more to replace the woofers in a pair of large rather high quality 12" 3 way speaker systems (sealed boxes also, not ported). Evidently the system uses a 4 ohm woofers. That also worked great. Note: these woofers do not use binding posts. Instead, JBL uses the normal slide on clips - which made the job easier in my case. Great job JBL.

I had to replace a Samsung Galaxy S3 that gave me lots of trouble and was dying. All I really wanted was something that worked reliably. Not knowing anything about LG, I took a chance and bought this Stylo 2 because of its screen size and its price. Just a few years ago, screens this size along with a "stylus" were only available at heart attack inducing prices. This model was priced much more reasonably. To put it in as little words as possible, this Stylo 2 is a lot better than any of my previous phones.

This powered USB hub is pretty much plug and play. It does not require any extra software downloads. It provides extra power to USB devices that "guzzle" power and can't be adequately powered by the receiving device itself. It did just that with an Android tablet that I tried to connect accessories to. The powering part of it worked great. But, my Android tablet is so "old" that nothing would work beyond getting plenty of power. I would still recommend this powered USB port for what it is capable of doing - supplying power.

Our HDD Panasonic camcorder has no mike insert and the voice is very low volume. Is there any way to raise the voice volume without a mike insert? If not, which camcorders do have this feature?
