Nice TV For the Price

My old 25 inch Magnavox in the family room finally gave out after 14 years (not to shabby). I brought down my LG flatscreen LCD 32 from a bedroom to use in its place temporarily. What I discovered was that it wasn't big enough. So, I came across this Insignia NS39 for a decent price and bought it. After swapping out the old cable box for an HD version (nice to have a Comcast walk-in facility near the house) problem solved. The picture is really good. It has basic controls on the side in case your remote quits. Like most TVs, the sound is OK but not great. I wish that LG had included "RCA" style left and right audio outs on the TV to make running audio to the nearby stereo receiver a cinch. It only has a headphone jack that can also serve that purpose, but it's not very convenient. Yet, the cable box has all of that, so I ran the audio from the cable box to the stereo and the HDMI connection to the TV. Speaking of HDMI, this TV only has two. A third one would be nice so as to plug in a laptop or tablet without having to disconnect something. Overall, I'm quite happy with the TV, because it very effectively solved the replacement TV problem.
