I was concerned about needing to get a bucket or run a hose out the window to keep this running. I live in N Central Florida, so humidity is definitely a concern. Glad to say, not a problem. This bad boy is keeping over half of my house nice and cool. Also, it is next to silent.

cools without using the window?

Is there a portable ac that will work without venting through a window? I heard that there were some but I haven't seen any yet. Does anyone out there know of one and the brand name?
Thanks
Theoretically you could use a chimney or skylight instead. Air conditioning requires the hot air be vented outside. That could either be through ducting, chimney, window vent, or building a wall vent (like for a clothes dryer)

For areas that are not humid, you could use a swamp cooler to cool down. That does not require venting.
