I had a roku 3 and it worked fine until it got zapped by lightning. Then I got another one and the wifi didn't work. So I returned it and got the stick. Well, its wifi is even worse because it is stuck behind the TV. So I replaced my wifi router. That helped and now it at least works but it show a really low wifi signal. I have a number of other wifi devices and don't have any issues with either the old or new router. So it just seem like the new roku devices don't have good wifi. Google it, you will find others say the same thing.
If you have strong wifi or your wifi is right next to it, you will be fine, and otherwise it works well.
