Great replacement for my Bose that died

This replaced my corded Bose N/C (noise cancelling) set that needed warranty replacement after 2 years, and then died another 3 years later. Not worth $300 to replace with same even though they worked, since I wasn't happy with the duration for the money.
These Sony headphones are less money and wireless as well (Bluetooth), which would have cost me another $50 for the Bose version, so I actually saved a LOT of money. Add to that the special pricing that Best Buy had when I bought them and I scored a set for about one-third the cost of Bose BT N/C! (Yes, one-third the price, not one-third off!) These are the "older" 10-meter BT, not the newer version with a much higher range. I stay in my work area when wearing them and don't wander around the office with them on, so that's not an issue for me.
Headset operation lets me use Prev/Stop-Start/Next (PSN) to select the song. Has bass boost that sounds pretty decent, N/C on/off, and volume that operates only within the headset and not the source device (Galaxy S8+ phone). Cordless gives me complete freedom of movement, too, a bonus over my old Bose set or the AKG earbuds that came with my phone.
I would really like to see wireless charging instead of having to plug them in, since then they'd be totally wireless, but that's not a major issue, just a wish or suggestion.
One of the reviews I read said that the music quality when corded was worse than when wireless. I can't agree with that but I'm also not an audiophile. To my ears, when I tested them with and without the cord at home before taking them to work, they sounded the same. The reviews that said they were less good also said that a better cord helped. I intend to use them cordless so it's a non sequitur.
I agree with the gripes of a couple reviewers about the spoken confirmations when operating the buttons. The PSN button is a physical button, but the power, bass boost, and N/C are "soft" buttons, meaning they feel the same when turning the feature on or off. When operating them there is a spoken message telling you what you just did. I doubt it's needed even though the buttons don't tell you by their movement if the feature was turned on or off. That message plays AFTER there's a tone - low for off, high for on - and it waits another second or two after the speaking ends before returning to the music, which continues to play unheard. Comparing the difference when switching bass boost on and off is hard with that interruption, but N/C is very obvious. The PSN button needs a slightly stiffer spring since I tend to bump it sometimes when I'm trying to find it with my finger while it's on my head. Bast boost button needs to be raised or sunken to find it, since it's at the same level as the housing, and it has no "braille pip" to help find it. The volume rocker has a single pip to turn the volume up but nothing obvious to turn it down. N/C button needs a stronger spring as well.
The placement of the controls was probably chosen by folks who were worried about the looks and not the function. They're right where I grab them to put them on and take them off, so sometimes I press one or more buttons, and even after a month it still happens. I'd prefer to see them on the outside covers of the ear cups, not the edges where they are. A simpler rotary dial would be a better volume control than the rocker switch (which doesn't repeat!), and some simple switches for N/C and bass boost would make me happier as well. A 4-way ring (like on a digital camera) for the PSN would be nice, since the direction you press is the function you'd get - just put one finger in the center and choose 1 of 4 functions. The idea I'm trying to suggest is that they would act like regular switches instead of "soft" switches, which depend on fancy logic that consume the battery that much faster.
Even with the gripes and suggestions above, I'm quite happy with them overall. They're comfortable enough that I wear them for long periods with no issues, they stay on my head (I work at a computer, so no major physical movements like in a warehouse), and I discovered that I can go about 3 days before they need charged. (Corded Bose needed a new AAA battery every 1-2 weeks.) I use them to listen to music from my phone as it sits on a QI charger that is also a headphone stand. Before I got the charger/stand, the extra battery in my Mophie case never let my Galaxy S8+ get below 65% after an entire day of listening, so that was and is no issue.
Would I buy another set? I've had them for about a month and am happy so far. I don't need another set since I don't need to use them at home, so I'll let time pass for a few years before I can truly answer that. However, if I were to judge them after just a month of use, I'd certainly consider buying a 2nd set if I wanted to use them elsewhere.

USB 3.0 memory card reader - I took it back

It works just fine. The reason I returned it is because the SD card reader is on the same side as the USB cable. I wanted to stick this under my desk but the cable having to be sticking out is what soured me on this otherwise well-built and solid device.

Nice keyboard

Similar to my other MS ergo keyboard, this one feels nice. The angle of the keys lets me keep my wrists straight as opposed to having to turn them like when using a standard linear keyboard. It's also wireless, which is nice, except when trying to get into the BIOS. I just use a wired keyboard for that and then resume using this for the rest of my stuff. I'm using it as I write this. There are pips on the F and J keys at the bottom of the key instead of in the center. I like that better myself. The 6 keys that include Home and End as well as the 4 arrows are arranged in a standard pattern (2 rows tall, 3 columns wide) so I didn't have to learn to use a narrower style. Also has a dedicated 10-key numeric pad.
I still haven't taken the time to program the 5 special keys.
I wish the Escape key was more prominent. I keep missing it when I want to use it. Half the time I hit the ~ key. Oh well, not a big issue.
I rarely use the wireless mouse, but I would not have bought this duo had it not had the 2 thumb keys that I like to program for Enter and Back. I do the same thing at work and it makes doing things a lot easier!

What is there to say? It adds 6 outlets without surge protection. I don't need it since I plugged this into the battery backup/surge protector that I'm already using. It's small and easy to keep out of the way, and has a power switch that's easy to get to.

I can watch the total watts consumed from the mains or a number of other displayed values. What I like best is that this switches from mains to battery power without a hitch whenever the electricity is out. This is my 2nd unit and they're both working perfectly. I can have up to 250W of equipment on battery backup so that is why I bought this unit for my desktop computer. I like that it stands upright instead of laying down - takes up less desk space.

Are there controls on the headphones to forward, pause or go back when you are listening to songs via Bluetooth on your phone? If you are listening to songs, and you get a phone call, will it pause the music to answer the call, and then resume after?

All controls are on the headphones. The music pauses when I answer the phone or make a call, then resumes after.

For people who use glasses, are these comfortable to wear when you have glasses on?

I wear glasses. The only real issue is taking my glasses off or putting them on while wearing the headphones. It's easier to remove the headphones but I can still put my glasses on even while wearing the headphones.

Can it be charged using a USB charger, or must a PC be used? My only PC uses the Linux Mint operating System.

I charge mine with a "wall wart" instead of my work computer, just to keep the load on it to a minimum.

I am looking for wireless headset to hook up to a television. It is for my father in law. He will not be far from the television. Is this a good pair to get for this use? if not can you give me some suggestions? Thank you,

So long as the TV has bluetooth or you can get a BT transmitter to plug into the TV's headset jack, then these Sony XB950N1 headphones should work quite well. It also depends on his hearing ability, as these are not designed to be hearing aids, just headphones.

These have a stated range of 10 meters, or 33 feet. I use them at work and the music never drops out.
