I bought this for my wife because she doesn't like the look of fitness trackers and the Fossil Q I got her was horrible about keeping steps or tracking other useful things.
This watch counts accurately and monitors HR pretty well. It also lets her pick the exercise she's doing (biking, walking, hiking) and adjusts (presumably) to that activity.
The faces are selectable so she can have it look more like a traditional analog watch. And the battery lasts well over a day and charges fully overnight on a wireless charger.
The app ties in with her Galaxy phone, but the app isn't spectacular by any means. You still need another app to do full tracking in our opinions.

First Foray Into Samsung In Years

After years with Apple, we decided to switch to Android and the Samsung Galaxy 9+ specifically. I have 2 teenage sons and they wanted to switch because most of their friends have them. No biggie.
From the short time we've had them, there are some advantages and some disadvantages to the phones, but mostly it's just different approaches to the same features.
The screen is beautiful, the pictures it takes are beautiful, and the phone speed is impressive. We don't see much of a difference in data speed, but that could be a Sprint thing and not phone specific.
The major negative to me is that it seems much more invasive than Apple. Something I never would have thought for sure. However, out of the box it tries to tie everything together and seems to monitor your usage to where it can recommend things. Not necessarily bad, but I would prefer to opt into all that instead of it making me opt out.
It is less restrictive than Apple with apps and accessibility, which was the main selling point to me.
So all in all, happy with them, but not a huge difference between Apple and Samsung at this point. Even the price points are too similar to give one the edge over the other.

First off, I don't get these things. They are bulky and in the way and I just don't understand the draw. However, my 15 year old wanted this and he loves it.
He says it helps to grip the phone and it works great as a stand. They are pretty affordable and this particular one is affixed sturdily and does everything he wanted to do with it.
So, while I don't understand it, the important thing is that he does and he says it's a good one.

The family recently switched from Apple to Samsung so we needed new cases. The selection for the 9+ at Best Buy wasn't great so we looked online and saw it wasn't much better there. But they had a sale on accessories so we opted to get some basic ones.
This case is a good, basic case that doesn't add a lot of heft to the phone itself. It also comes up over the edge which is glass on the 9 series. It has no screen protector, no special grip, or anything else to take it beyond basic.
However, the price, even with the sale, seems too steep for what it is. I can't take away from the convenience or abilities of what it is intended to do, but I can knock a star off for value.
For the record, the price online was within $5 of Best Buy and with the sale it washed.

My old Swissgear backpack finally started to show it's age after 8-10 years so I went back in the market to see how things have changed since then. I tried the rectangle packs, the TSA packs, and the storage packs in addition to the standard backpacks and this one turned out to still be the best one I could get my hands on.
I have a 17" MSI so it's pretty bulky and that limits what packs I can use, but this one handles it easily and I even have room to put a Surface in the tablet pocket. All of that in the first zipper along with a netted storage area.
The power packs fit in the second zipper and I still have plenty of room for other accessories which leaves me 2 more zippered areas to put storage/cables/earbuds/etc and not stuff the thing full.
However, with all of that in there, it's not overly bulky or heavy. Very light weight and durable. I just couldn't find anything to beat it.

Not What We Were Looking For

We got these on a good sale for the holidays, but it turns out even that sale wasn't a good enough price for them. We bought two types for two kids and neither of them liked this brand so we returned them and went with the other style.
The design is something they liked. Over the ear so they were secure and more comfortable than in the ear like most true wireless buds are. The sound was ok. Not great, but not horrible.
The real negative came in on connectivity. They paired easily enough, but kept disconnecting on any kind of movement. I have a Bose pair and they had some issues at first and I read that they had to "learn" to adapt to certain surroundings so we tried that. It worked with the Bose, but not these. Kept them connected for a couple days and the drop outs still continued too often. Different phones (iPhone 7, 7+, and Android) and different locations (indoor, outdoor, public) and no difference. On top of that, while watching YouTube and using these, there was a significant lag with the sound. Research shows this is a common problem. And to verify it wasn't a lagging problem with the phones, we tried the other brand (Jam) and had no such issues.
So if you're listening to music and can keep them connected they seem like a decent pair of true wireless buds. But for video and impatient people they are pretty worthless.

We weren't sure what to think of the Switch after the whole WiiU debacle (which is actually a good console poorly maintained), but went out and got this basically for 2 games, Zelda and Mario Odyssey.
These notes are from the teens that actually use the console.

1. It's quick. Not having a disc means the games load much faster than the other consoles.
2. It's portable. You don't lose any playability by taking it with you.
3. It's pretty. The graphics are going to win any hyper realistic awards, but the colors are bold and strong.
4. It's fun. They're only a few days into it, but those two games are providing a lot of play time.

These are not my first Hue lights, but they are my first 4 pack of white Hue lights. They're pretty expensive for light bulbs until you do the math (still expensive, but at least somewhat justifiable).
We have some colored Hue lights and I love them, but the price is a bit out of my league to do the whole house. These white lights are great and a 4 pack for under $40 puts each bulb at a more reasonable $10 per. And they dim 100-0% so you get more use out of them than a typical LED bulb.
I have it integrated with Alexa and they have never given me any trouble. No disconnects, no odd drop outs, and no failure to respond. Simple white wifi lights, but I do love them. If they last as long as they're supposed to, I think the $10 each is a fair price.

Not much to say about this one. The boy needed a stylus for a 3DS he hadn't played in a while and we went and this was the best pack available for the price. It came with 2 short and 2 long ones, which he liked for different aspects of the system.
He didn't use the screen protector so I can't say how it affects anything.
But the stylus worked well and now he has a backup for each length for when, not if, he loses them.

Pleasantly Surprised With Air Fryer

I bought this on sale out of pure curiosity. I've wanted to try an air fryer just to see how things turn out as a healthier option (and cleaner and better smelling) to deep frying, but I wasn't willing to spend $100+ to find out.
It's actually pretty great. It does single servings of some food very well. It takes some trial and error to get the right mixture, but you can get it close to what you're used to.
My only real complaint is the size of the frying container itself. Like I said, you can do single servings in there pretty easily, but definitely not much more. And I wish there was a way to cancel the timer instead of just twisting it back to the start. I guess you can let it run (because it keeps timing even while unplugged), but I like to turn stuff all the way off when I'm not using it.

Will this fit my MSI Apache Pro 17.3 inch laptop?
I have the MSI Gaming Series 17.3" laptop and it fits it very well. The edges come up to the zippered area, but do not put stress on the zipper. And I still have room for a tablet (I have a Surface I carry) in the first compartment. It's one of the few backpacks I've found that actually give the height for this laptop.

Why can’t I get “create home” to save. It says “failed to save changes.
I couldn't get it to create a home in the IOS app and ended up doing it through the Android app. I've read there are a lot of issues since IOS 11 came out and I was using an iPhone (with 11) and an iPad (with an older IOS) and never had any luck, but the Android worked quickly.
