Works great in my house

I live in a 2-floor house I get poor to fair signal throughout the house, signal strength ranges from two to three bar. My house is an Energy efficient home which has thick strong insulation and specialized windows, which weakens the strength of my cell phone with the tower. I got the weBoost to improve the signal.
The device is nicely packaged and simple to setup. The most time-consuming step was finding the window that has the best signal from the carrier. I had to try different rooms and windows to find the best signal. I used the external antenna that can be placed on the outside of the window with the best signal, between the screen and the window. This step is optional but I recommend it if possible. The wire for this antenna is flat to allow the window to close. After setting this antenna on your window, it gets connected to the a receiver device. Then connect receiver with the provided cable to the inside antenna. Make sure that the direction of these device are placed as instructed, if not, it will not work well.
Test: I first tried the room where the indoor antenna was located. It boosted the signal strength from 3 bars to full bars. The rooms next to this room also received a boost as well. I next tried the rooms on the first floor. The room underneath, the living room, has a signal strength from 2 bars to 4 bars, doubling the strength. The other rooms also receive some boost.
All the rooms in my house are close together, which is why I receive a boost in all rooms. If a house the rooms are spread out, you might get a different result. In my first attempt to setup the device, I received a great amount of boost. If it doesn’t work quite well, you might have to try other places.
I have included a few snapshots of my cell phone showing the signal strength/bars before and after the weBoost.

Stronger Wi-Fi

This tri-band WiFi system is great for the purpose of improving internet connection of any home, especially those that have more than one floor and those that are very large. It is very easy to setup and control. And as a parent of young and teen children, I found the parental control feature highly useful.
The entire setup instruction was done using a smartphone with a downloaded Linksys app. Setups can only be done with a smartphone or tablet. The interactive app guides you through each step. Using an ethernet wire, connect the WiFi system to the router. The system takes a few minutes to configure. Then follow additional steps to connect the other remaining nodes. The complete setup took less than 30 minutes to complete.
I observed and took images of the WiFi strength before and after the setup. Before the system was installed, there were areas around the house that got one or two wifi bar signal strength. After the setup, most of the house got full wifi strength.
The best feature of this system is the parental control. The app gives the administrator (parent) the ability for each device that is connected to the wifi to have a separate parental control setting. The administrator can easily manually block individual devices or all of them at the same time. This feature comes very useful for blocking wifi during family nights or group meeting. Guest access can easily be setup, turned off, and shared. For additional parental control, it would be great if the system came with the option to use OpenDNS. I had to search the web for ways to add it. But it still very good for parental control.
Overall this a great WiFi to have in any size home. It is not hard to setup and it easy to control.

Best alternative for most commonly computing needs

A few weeks before buying this device I was deciding between Chromebook or a low price Windows 10 computer. I have 6 year old imac and it runs better and faster than most newer windows computer, but they are very expensive. I can't afford an apple laptop. I don't have that kind of money! I analyse my computing usage and I concluded that most, if not all, my computing task are cloud based. I hardly use the computer's software. I use google drive for all my documents because it is simple and very productive. Before buying this Acer Chromebook I had purchase a Windows 10 HP computer that was about 60% off, open box + additional discount. The decision was mostly because it cost $150 and it was Windows 10. When I turned it on it took a while to open windows, then I had to go through the registration process. Microsoft wanted for me to create/join their different accounts services but I declined. When I completed the registration, the computer needed to update and it was announcing that it this will only take a moment. This is very typical with windows. I went to the kitchen, made myself a snack, talk to my wife for a while on how this new window is annoying as prior windows, and when I got back at the computer it still was updating. After it was complete, I used it for a while but I stopped and decided to return it because Cortana was continually popping up suggesting thing which I was doing on internet explorer. I knew I could turn off this feature but I decided at that moment that I will return this new annoying windows to the store and replace it with a chromebook.
The Acer Chromebook gave me a complete opposite experience. It only took 7 seconds to start up and a few minute to register the computer. It is lightweight and the batteries last a very long time. I can take this computer to my 3 hours night class and not worry about the batteries. The biggest PLUS is the quality of the screen. I enjoy this part because it get very close the the apple screens. The speaker sound very good and it is load. I am very satisfied with this laptop. THIS IS THE BEST ALTERNATIVE TO An Apple LAPTOP. Never again Windows computer. It requires wifi connection, but now a days there is connection everywhere. Worst case scenario of no wifi, most cell phone can be set up to allow tethering/ local wifi, just be careful of data plan. Most software are online, for example Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, .... An alternative to the costly and frequent newer version of Microsoft office is google docs/sheet/slide.... (IT is free, simple to use, and easy to share and open on any device).

Okay for the Price

This is an OKAY computer for the price. It is not heavy and it look nice. I personally don't like the new Windows 10. It stills make the computer run slow. If you need a computer for mostly internet use, I highly recommend a chromebook. Cortana popped up continually for assistant when I mistakenly slide my fingers in certain direction on the mousepad; this was very annoying. I don't figure out why microsoft thinks that more is better. Windows 10 has more features which makes it more complicated to use.

Class Records Video

I bought this memory car for the purpose to record videos on my SLR camera. I had another type before this one, class 4, and while recording after 1 or 2 minutes it would stop. I searched this issue on the internet and the problem was that to record videos the memory stick must be higher than class 6. The higher class is related to the speed the memory is recorded.

Good for traveling abroad

This has happened to me and I think this might be your reason why you see a different price. Sometimes BestBuy does offer a different price but the tradeoff is that it is an open box item. When a product has an available open box, it will show you the different prices. Sometimes availability of an open box depends on your location; it looks like they do open-boxes within a certain distance from your location. So, if you are doing a search on BestBuy.com for a particular product and the browser has a different zip code (auto fills the zip code) other than your location it will give you the price for the wrong location. Once you enter your correct zip code at checkout (or before) it will change or state that it is not available. I live in Florida and many times my browser sometimes gives a zip code from different states, like NY or NH.
Another possibility is that an Open-item was available when you started doing your search and just before deciding to checkout it is no longer available because had already bought it online or in the store. Nowadays, many stores are fulfilling their online purchase with their own store inventory, not from a warehouse.

Is this speaker drop proof
The top and bottom sides of the speaker are made of a hard plastic material which probably breaks easily. It is not insulated by any silicon or rubber type material, the bottom has some rubber but that is to prevent skids. So, I will not think that they can hand a heavy drop, maybe from a table to floor distance but I would be careful.

Can you plug in and use with a nano iPod?
This speaker is completely wireless, there is no iPod connection port and not even for the regular AUX connection. The connection to this speaker is through Bluetooth. If your nano iPod has Bluetooth, then should not have an issue connecting it.

I have seen these in white but I am not sure if this store sales them in that color. White is a very nice color but if it will handle a lot to move it from place to place the cloth-like material surround the speaker might get dirty and not stay white. This is just like white vehicle compares to a darker color vehicle, you will see them dirty more quickly. If you get white and you want to clean the side, then this will be no issue because these speakers are water-resistant.

My laptop works but the screen died. Both my TV & laptop have HDMI hookups. Can I use these to make my TV my computer screen?
Yes, It should work fine. I watch online movies using my laptop connect with an HDMI cable to my TV or my projector. It works fine. You might have an issue with screen size and resolution, but this is a temporary fix to be able to use your laptop with a damaged monitor. My laptop only has the newer USB connection but NO HDMI so I use an adaptor which allows me to connect an HDMI cable to my laptop. See image.
