These little things have grown in size, and the price has come down! I didn't read any reviews because San Disk is one of the better names, and has been around for a long time. They were so cheap that I bought 2! They're great for moving files from one computer to another, like a friend's computer that's not on your network. I have put ALL of the programs that I use on these drives so that I don't have to download them every time I buy a new computer. That's easier than setting up my network on the new computer and copying them that way. They're ALL there in one directory.. just plug it in and go!
Make extra copies of all your files with this Seagate Backup Plus hub. It has 4TB of storage capacity to hold years of pictures and videos or extensive digital entertainment libraries. This Seagate Backup Plus hub includes two USB ports and is compatible with multiple devices and platforms for cross-functional storage.
Finally Seagate has come out with an external drive that has a hub in it. You can finally daisy chain drives without going all the way back to a hub or the back of your computer. Sure helps with the cable mess behind one's desk! Now let's hope they're looking into making them wireless!
I have stayed away from drives bigger than 2Tb for the simple fact that if it dies, you're out one HUGE amount of data... but the technology has improved, so I'm more at ease with the bigger capacities! The ONLY thing I might suggest to Seagate would be to at least ventilate the cases better, or put some sort of fan in or on them. On this 4Tb drive, there are only a few holes on the bottom, but heat rises, so wouldn't the top be a better place for holes?? Personally, I strap an external fan to the outside with rubber bands so it doesn't ever shut down because of a thermal overload. Sure it looks clunky, but it works, and it doesn't void the warranty like drilling the holes into the case or opening it up to the atmosphere!
