Did a bit of feature comparison prior to purchase of this player. Dolby Vision was something not sure of yet. Apparently, I was told at Best Buy store that Sony rep confirmed a software update would be made available that would render the player DV compliant (for both X800 and X1000ES). However, not sure when that's going to be made available by Sony though.
Plays almost every type of disk tried so far. Apps like Amazon support UHD. Had also been playing media files from USB drive with 4K upscale resolution.
Works very well even with 2015 Samsung UHD HDR TV.
