Before installing Linksys Velop, reception in the kitchen was so poor on laptops and cell phones and couldn’t get wifi reception in basement during times I needed to troubleshoot issues regarding repairs for my washer/dryer and more.
Now, after installing Linksys Velop, I can surf the web, while simultaneously watching a music video on another tab from my laptop while sitting, in my car parked on the street in front of my home, backyard or basement.
The speed can pack a punch and keep up with our household’s demands. With multiple users simultaneously watching videos, playing video games and constantly surfing the internet, the Velop has made sharing wifi feel like I’m getting the whole pie.
We were thinking of replacing some streaming devices because they were outdated and slow but now we will hold off since the speed of those devices have accelerated and can keep up with the demands of the household.
Having kids who are constantly on multiple devices all day long, (since we homeschool and use the internet as a supplement for teaching/research), while other family members are streaming videos on smart tvs and doing their own web surfing, makes having Linksys Velop a true necessity.
While the towers are a bit bulky, I don’t mind because they are doing their job. There’s an on/off switch on the bottom of each tower, a reset button and a WPS button.
I love the prioritization feature which allows you to select three devices from the list of devices connected, giving them priority over all other devices connected. This is easier than asking others to disconnect temporarily to ease up traffic for someone needing to complete urgent work.
The Velop is very easy to install; Simply plug in one tower to your modem, plug your power supply in and download the app to your smartphone. The light on the top of the tower will change colors as indicated on a card included in the box the Linksys came in. When it is ready to be set up the light will indicate so and you will be prompted to enter a password which can be found at the bottom of the tower. You may rename each tower to find them easier when connecting devices to the wifi.
After following the prompts on the app, all while keeping your phone next to the tower so they can communicate, you can be sure your Velop will be up and running in no time. Once the first one is set up, you will be prompted by the app to set up the next tower on another floor/location by placing it in a room as indicated in the app. Plug the second tower’s power source into an outlet and wait again until the light turns to the color for set up and use the app to set up just like you set up the first tower.
After following the prompts on the app, all while keeping your phone next to the tower so they can communicate, you can be sure your Velop will be up and running in no time. Once the first one is set up, you will be prompted by the app to set up the next tower on another floor/location by placing it in a room as indicated in the app. Plug the second tower’s power source into an outlet and wait again until the light turns to the color for set up and use the app to set up just like you set up the first tower.
If you test the speed or surf the internet and find it’s not going so fast, move it to a different room and also restart your device you wish to connect to the wifi. I found restarting the device made a huge difference.
Parental settings can be set very easily by going into the app and clicking on the device you want to prevent from connecting to the wifi by a specified time range. You may also choose to block certain web content on the parental settings.
From the app you can set up parameters in a multitude of ways for securing your wifi from intruders. The further the signal reaches the outside of your home, the more likely you’ll need to set stronger security parameters.
The app has Speed Test included and pings your upload and download speed.
Having control over my wifi using my smartphone is nothing but fantastic.
Being in the kitchen now doesn’t feel like mom was thrown in a dungeon and left in the Dark Ages.
I would highly recommend the Linksys Velop to anyone with a need for speed and control of their wifi.

Too many cool options to pick one as my favorite.
Love the backlit keyboard, touch screen, snip and draw feature, tablet style, mini SD card slot, sleek design, blue tooth and overall functionality.
I can now stay up in bed finishing up whatever I’m doing without disturbing my husband since the keyboard lights up. It does dim when not in use which is a great energy saver. The touchpad is ultra sensitive but can be easily adjusted...some features for certain programs may require sensitivity at the default level but it’s pretty much up to the end user.
Love that I can blue tooth my headphones and leave my laptop’s side w/o missing a beat. I also tried a wired headset because why not. Sound quality great on both.
The tablet feature is amazing and flipping the laptop to sit like an easel is simple and the image rotated to face the right direction. With the touch of a keypad icon on the bottom of the screen you can type on the screen while having the laptop in this easel position. Drawing is amazing and using the snip and draw feature is so cool. I plan to buy a pen so I can really get great use out of using it as a drawing tablet since I’m currently into drawing and taking some online classes.
I used the 2-1 while in the dark to ensure the keyboard would provide enough light for me to see and it did. I even used Inspiron to play online video games and it kept up nicely, even though it’s not a gaming laptop.
The sleek design makes for picking up the 2-1 and moving effortlessly around my home and integrating it into different activities. One minute I’m listening to music, the next I’m surfing the web, drawing, watching a video, all with ease since the touch screen is amazingly helpful when I don’t have both hands available to type.
While I did set part of my new Dell up using voice prompts (accurate at listening to my voice) I didn’t continue to use the feature after the computer was all set up.
It comes with free McAfee antivirus but I chose to install a security software I have a brand preference for.
The snip and draw has an integrated ruler which is easy to manipulate and very accurately allows you to draw straight lines, even while in finger mode.
The picture quality and sound are fantastic and I enjoyed watching videos from various artists.
There are two super speed ports on one side of the laptop and the headphone jack. The other side contains an HDMI port, a thunderbolt port for plugging in iphones or other devices that need charging, all while the laptop is off but plugged in by its charger.
The mini SD slot is located same side as HDMI. When I first inserted the mini SD card, Inspiron didn’t recognize it, but a super fast driver update had me looking at the contents in no time. From what I’ve read, the mini SD card can be used for extended memory if you are short on memory or to have more Windows Apps installed.
It doesn’t come with a CD/DVD drive but most newer laptops have done away with this feature and most people tend to download or stream music and movies. I was a bit disappointed not having this feature BUT the many other cooler options make this small fry.
The laptop does not get hot and the battery life is just okay...I did “put it through the mill” to see if it can keep up with my multitasking but I had to keep plugging it back in to finish up. Since I’m not normally using a laptop for 6 hours straight...I will cut the 2-1 some slack.
I recommend this 2-1 laptop to anyone looking to replace their regular laptop because the tablet/touch screen/drawing feature/backlit keyboard/weight is just so cool, you’ll regret repeating getting a regular laptop.

The ceramic glides are pretty much what the advertisement says they are; smooth, quiet, allows for accuracy in moving from one location to another without dragging, without lag and without tension. It’s like controlled ice skates for your mouse. No mouse pad needed as it doesn’t require special surfaces from what I can tell. Life just got a bit easier and more manageable with gliding feet.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is tired of dragging feet on their mouse and need a catalyst put into their work.

Set up was quick and easy...downloaded software and was ready to go. My favorite feature was the sound quality...you can hear a pin drop...the sound quality is just what you want while gaming or listening to music...you feel like you are a part of the entertainment...The headset is comfortable and adjustable. The buttons for volume and boost are conveniently on the headset. Another feature I love and prob cannot live without now that I’ve experienced it is the ability to hear my own voice from within the headset. A switch allows you to listen to your own voice as you converse with other players OR while you sing. The boost button is something that enhances the sound which you’d want to use during gaming or watching a movie but not while just in a chat. I definitely know what my voice sounds like now when singing. You have the option to lower or turn off the in-speaker voice option if you get bored of hearing your own voice. I kind of enjoyed listening to my own voice so I kept this function on. Getting up to tend to other business while wearing the headset allows for uninterrupted conversation (within a certain distance of course). While Turtle boasts the headset is eyeglasses friendly, I found it to be uncomfortable on one side...perhaps minor adjustments are needed until the right comfort zone can be found. The gel interchangeable headset doesn’t feel gel-like, but still provides a nice buffer. The mic is good BUT all whom heard my voice during game play and in chats mentioned my voice was grainy and they could hear static noise compared to my wired Turtle gaming headset. Another great quality of the wireless headset is that no one can hear me typing during chat or game play and I don’t pick up on conversations in other rooms in my home which the turtle wired does.
It came charged and it held its charge for a few hours before it needed to be fully charged. So far the charge has held up for more than four days and it gets moderate to heavy use.

Overall, I’d recommend this product to gamers and even to those who like to record themselves singing or singing karaoke.

While I plan to upgrade my kids to wireless headsets in the future, I need them to first become more reliable and responsible in taking care of a headset that will set me back.
So for now I bought them a cheaper wired headset with mic attached that needed an adapter to plug into their laptops.
While their laptops come with mics pre-installed, recording videos to be uploaded to YouTube needs a mic more suitable for the job.

Bought this for my 11 Y/o who can't get enough of anything that is art. While the summer is here and she's not taking art classes in a structured environment, this game keeps her creative abilities flowing on the road or when bored.
You really can't go wrong with an art game since it keeps the brain active in a different way than it would by watching a video game. I'm sure a different part of the brain is getting exercised and not getting pounded and manipulated like it does with the visual movements of a regular video game. I don't worry much about seizures since the game is not moving at a high speed and requires some precision and slower moving techniques on the user's behalf.

This is our second purchase of a portable AC. Our first one is an LG and is so noisy we have to choose whether to shut off while watching our nightly TV shows and suffer from the heat, sometimes causing us to fall asleep uncomfortably until we realize, hey AC isn't on, OR leaving the AC on and trying to figure out the dialogue. We lose either way.
With the Frigidaire portable AC, it's quiet and has several choices for speed, while the LG only has High and Low, the low setting being almost the same noise level as the High.
The compression on the Frigidaire seems to have some tech improvements as it doesn't immediately shut off with a loud boom. It takes a few seconds to shut off which is prob good for the electrical components, while the LG shuts off hard and immediately after pressing the power button.
My son's bedroom which is slightly bigger than ours cools down quicker and better with the Frigidaire. I had to increase the setting to 72 because he said he's so cold in middle of the night he can't get up to get a drink of water or go for a bathroom run. We jokingly tell him we will switch our LG to his room and take his.
The heat the LG gives off via the tubing leading the air out the window is like having AC and a heater on in the room at the same time. I haven't experienced that with the Frigidaire.
The timer on the Frigidaire is excellent and I set it up before going to bed so that my son doesn't have an excuse not to get up because his room may be too cold.
The ONLY thing that I see as a negative and it's so negligent, but still worth mentioning for those who NEED this perk is that the Frigidaire Portable AC doesn't tell you the temperature of the room. It ONLY shows you the temperature both on the remote and the AC panel that you set it to cool the room down to. The LG shows you the actual temperature as it changes, and shows you the temperature you choose to set it to go down to when you press the up and down buttons.
I hope my review helped you make an informed decision. I compared many models and most were average, so I took a chance and have no regrets thus far. Keep in mind some are lemons right out of the box, but that can happen with any electrical device.
I also forgot to mention the cleanliness factor. Window AC's get quite dirty and filled with mold and dirt. The portable seems to stay cleaner and do a great job of blocking out or filtering out any odors from coming in, such as neighbor cutting lawn or smoking, which was a disaster with our last window AC in my son's room, which this portable one is replacing.

While I’ve only tested a couple of devices in the basement, the speed on those devices was incredibly fast. Before installing Velop, I couldn’t troubleshoot any repairs I needed to complete on my washer/dryer and had to keep walking upstairs to get a signal.

Whats up with the lack of reviews on this, is this a new product? Are the ear cups leather? Is the mic attached or apart of the headset?
The mic can be detached from the headset. Once you attach the mic into the port you can only bend the mic towards your mouth and shouldn’t twist from the socket bc it’s fixed into the port and doesn’t swing but it does bend towards your face/mouth.
The material of the headphones is leather like, not sure it’s real leather but real leather has a particular odor I’m familiar with and I didn’t smell leather upon opening package, which is when the odor would be strongest.
