My Older HP 8600 Plus needed about $100 worth of cartridges. Not willing to spend that much on an old printer, I started reviewing my options.
It didn't take long before I found the HP 8710 for $100. Coupled with the new HP instant ink program (6 months free), I figured I couldn't go wrong. (You'll be surprised at how quickly you receive your first replacement cartridges...long before you need them).
By the way, it prints better than the HP 8600 Plus that it replaces.

Does anyone else have trouble with this printer going into sleep mode and not coming out unless it is powered off and on again?

Can the Officejet Pro 8710 printer use 950 & 951 ink cartridges?
They look physically the same. You'll have to see if the cartridge chip allows it to be used.
