Great TV for great price

Have bought multiple Insignia LED TV's from Best Buy before and this one has the largest screen of them all. The picture quality and sound are very good and the TV is easy to set up. The price is great.
It has 3 HDMI ports (which should be the bare minimum for any new TV). I use it for both cable and over-the-air (OTA) TV.
The tuner for receiving TV signals with an antenna is good and it finds all the channels in my area, but the TV does not have a program guide for OTA signals. The signal strength indicator is basic (only shows 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%). You cannot add any channels manually (only auto-search which erases all old channel data).
Other negative for me is that the remote with this TV is smaller with less buttons those for my older Insignia TVs. Especially miss the 'favorites' button for the OTA channels since I use it a lot to switch OTA channels more easily. Luckily I found out that I can use the remote from my older Insignia TV's so I just ordered an extra one of that model remote online.
All in all, (especially now with the older model remote) I am very happy with this TV. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Would give it an extra star if it had a program guide for OTA signals, better signal indicator, a function to manually add channels, a way to preserve previously found channels during an auto-search and a better remote with more functions (the older model remote is just fine).

Battery was weak from the start

I have about 3 other Cyperpower units in use. The big plus for me was always that it was fairly easy to change the battery in them. The batteries usually lasts about 2 years of constant use.
Trusted this brand so much that I threw out the box and discarded the receipt even before I tested the unit. A label on the unit read that it must be charged for 8 hours before use. I charged it for 2 days before I finally plugged my computer into it. The unit would not come on and just beep. Useless. Since I threw out the box and receipt, I decided to just open it up and see what was wrong with it. Unlike my other Cyberpower models, this one uses a special kind of security crew to lock the back access panel. Could not find any kind screwdriver or bit to fit this screw. Had to brake off a small piece of plastic to remove the back panel and get access to the battery. When I put a volt meter on the battery it only read about 6 volts (should be 12v). So this battery was bad from the start. Turns out it is impossible to find a same capacity replacement battery (12v 5.5ah) that will fit in this unit, they are not for sale anywhere (store or online). Was able to fit in a different battery which has a slightly lesser capacity (5.1ah). At least I can use it now.

This is a nice size TV for the bedroom, especially if you don't care about huge size screens. Picture is still very clear and sound is good also.
Got this as a discounted open box item, but there was nothing with it.
Insignia TV have never disappointed me as far as picture, sound or features. You can spend a whole lot more on a 'brand' name and still get less.
This was the 1080p model, but it is hard to tell the difference with a 720p model since model cable companies at best provide 720p or 1080i.
Perhaps some can tell when using a HD Blue Ray player, but on a screen this size it will be hard to tell.
All in all, another great price for a good TV.

Got this TV as an 'open box' item with about a $25 discount. I have purchased other Insignia TV's before (32" models) and they have never disappointed me. This model also as good picture and good sound. Takes about 5 seconds to start up, but that is not a big deal. It has 2 HDMI ports which is fine (3 would have been even better) since this is the preferred way to hook up a cable box, blue ray or streaming player.
It is not a 'smart' tv, but I find those to be too limited in functionality and rather hook up a streaming player of my own choice.
You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy 'name brand' TV when you can get an Insignia to do the same job for much less.

Very good TV for the money

This is the 3rd Insignia 32" 720p HD TV I bought to replace my old tube TV's in different rooms. I think it is a great TV for the price. Nice size, good picture, good sound and it has 2 HDMI inputs (a third one would have been nice, but so far I do not need it). This latest one is the 32D312 model, the others are 32D311's. The difference I was told is that the 32D312 has bigger speakers and the control buttons on the side. I can't tell any noticeable difference in sound or picture quality between the two (very similar) models.

What model year? And can u mute the sound when turn tv on and off?

Never had an issue with any open box Insignia TV I have bought (about 5 of them). Geek certified or not. Worst thing that I experienced was that there were some screws missing to attach the base. Those were easily replaced, I got plenty of screws. All open box TV's have never failed and work great.
Just read the open box white/yellow label to see if there are any parts missing or if there is any damage. You can also ask to take the unit out of the box to look it over.
